Brookdale Meridian was very clean and very well maintained. The staff or person who gave me the tour was great. They have restaurant-style dining, and they have it broken up into small areas, so rather than a large dining area where people have to go, they had dining on each floor, so that's something different than other places I've toured. They also had different opportunities for engagement in common areas for activities, movies, and things like that. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and secure. They have their own nurses onsite.

The gal that gave us the tour at Brookdale Meridian was very nice and very personable. She did a good job showing the facility. They had individual dining areas for the different wings, which I found kind of cozy, yet at the same time, they were limited as far as the opportunity for socialization. The apartments were nice. Everything was clean and new. There were no issues or complaints with it. Ron and the nurse were both wonderful, attentive, and forthcoming with any information or questions that we had.

The staff at Brookdale has been extremely kind, working with my mother to help her in transitioning from living alone to living in an assisted living facility, a change which she is having a very hard time accepting. Her room is spacious, in great condition with modern fixtures and looks out over a beautifully maintained rear courtyard. Daily food menus provide numerous meal choices and what I have seen and tasted has been well presented and tastes great. At 95, my mom's tastes are more limited and thus, it may take some time to find those foods that she most prefers. Unfortunately, she has not felt well since moving in one week ago. Transitioning to and having my mom seen by a doctor that works with the facility has not gone as well as I would have hoped. It has been almost a week since Brookdale was told that my mother was not feeling well and that we had decided to use their doctor. She has yet to be seen with the doctor apparently only coming to the facility on Tuesday afternoons. If I had been told at that time that it would be a week, I would have drove her the half hour to the doctor she has been seeing for the last 20 plus years.

The atmosphere at Brookdale Meridian was very lovely. The people were very friendly, accommodating, and seemed very knowledgeable. The layout was very nice and what anybody would need. Unfortunately, in my position, the cost is not feasible for me. The upkeep was very good. It's a wonderful place if you can afford it, and your family would be very happy there.

We liked Brookdale Meridian very much and that's where we'd like our mother to go. It's clean, but compared to other places, it wasn't huge. It was homier, and we liked the dining room setup, which was just two tables of six residents each. The people were terrific. We were pleased with the food, and my mom ate the whole meal. However, the hallways seem like they would be confusing. There were lots of different hallways. If they were painted a different color, it might be easier. I wasn't sure which direction I was going myself.

Brookdale Meridian seemed like a really nice place and people were helpful. Their grounds were nice, and there's an indoor courtyard that people can go into. They have programs towards individual needs, and group activities that would seem like what people would want. The only problem I think is that the cost would be prohibitive for my mom.

My mother will be moving into Brookdale Meridian. They seemed to be really caring and involved with the residents and seemed to have a lot to offer. I was really impressed because even the people who work in the kitchen would introduce themselves. They had different activities that would come in. They had a dog that will come in for people who like that, movie nights, and different celebrations.

The manager at Brookdale Meridian was very kind. She had a room that was right off the patio to the courtyard area. She was going to try to save that for my mother. My mother does smoke. so it was easier for her to get out of the door right there and go right out onto the patio. She could smoke outside. The manager had a little doggie treat to welcome both my mother and her dog there. I also like the idea (as supposed to some of the others) that they had separate dining rooms that were small. Being 91, my mother is always very prim and proper, and right now, her arm doesn't work well, so she is always afraid of how she looks at public eating. So having a small dining room for her would have been just fantastic; it would have been ideal. They have little trips, and they have their own shuttle bus. They would take them to grocery store, and they would take them to the mall. They have outings. Nobody has to drive. They always have that small shuttle that would take them anywhere they want to go. Plus, they have chair exercises. They have a room where they could do jigsaw puzzles. They also have a small reading room.

Brookdale Meridian was very nice, but the apartments weren’t large enough, so that discouraged me. However, it was a really beautiful place and they were very nice to me. I caught them late in the afternoon and didn’t see any activity going on. There were residents coming and going, and I noticed they were dressed very well. I talked to the manager, and he showed me some of the facilities. I didn’t look around very long. I just wanted to see the room size and what they do for the residents.

Brookdale Meridian was really nice. The one difference between Brookdale and other places was that Brookdale didn't have just one big dining room for everybody. They had a smaller dining room in each hallway, and you could eat in any of them. You didn't have to eat at the one that was on your floor or your hallway; you could go to different ones. It was really nice and clean, too, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. You could bring some of your own furniture to your room, but you didn't have to bring all of your own. They had a bed, a night table, a chair, a chair-side table, and two lamps that were provided. In the other places, you had to bring all of your own furniture. If they had said that you could only eat in that one dining room and not go to the others, I don't think I would give them five stars, but since they did say you could go to whichever one you wanted and switch to different ones, so you could sit with different and more people, I give it a five.

My sister lives in that area and was familiar with Brookdale Meridian, so we chose that for my mom. The staff is very professional and accommodating. Everything is very clean and homey. They have a lot of different activities there like exercise classes, game nights, and entertainment nights. The thing that I like with them is that they gave my mom some very personal service, but mom doesn’t find the food very appetizing.

We visited Brookdale Meridian. We liked the arrangement of the building -- the way the people were living in units, set-up in one huge building. It was a fairly small facility. The staff was very nice. We liked them a lot. They were having a party when we were there, so they were not having a regular meal, but it was fine. They had a special person there playing and singing. Everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot. From what I saw, it was very good.

We moved my mother just a short time ago to Wynwood of Meridian, and so far, all is working out well. The staff are very caring, and the food is good. It isn't a huge place; it's intimate, nice, and not overwhelming. The rooms are kept beautifully clean. It has a very warm atmosphere when you walk in. She is in an efficiency -- a large room with a large closet and a big private bath with lots of railings. There are cords in the bathroom, her sitting area, and bedroom where if she needs assistance, she can pull it. They provided some furniture, but my mother wanted her own things. She had some bedroom furniture and her chair put in, and they accommodated that very well. It is very clean, and every time I've been in there, it's always vacuumed and dusted. It's decorated with good taste. She seems happy there. They have special music programs come in, and they show movies. They have a card group, a knitting group, a walking group, a book group, a group for writing stories, and a sing-along group. There's something for everybody. There's a courtyard outback where the residents can get outside and enjoy the nice weather, and they even allow them to help with some gardening. They take the residents on outings, and they have doctors that come in. The staff is very kind and yet professional. She has been there for about six weeks, and so far, we've been pleased.

Brookdale Wynwood was a very nice place. Russel didn't like it, but I did. It was private home with 5 or 6 people in it, and I thought it would be great, but he was not interested in that. It's not for me; it's for him.

The staff at Wynwood Meridian is cheerful, friendly, very upbeat, and helpful. The rooms mom is in were decorated very well and were remodeled this year. It has one large room and a separate bathroom. The dining rooms are more like tea rooms, and each floor has their own dining room. It was funny as mom complained that the food portion was small, but she put that she wanted small portions on her intake, and I told her to change it. She hasn't complained about it since, and she thinks the food is fine. They have people come in, like piano players and singers. They have special Sunday movies and popcorns. They have a nice big popcorn machine there. They do special activities, life stories, and reading. When it's not below zero, they have outings. The place is secured. However, I wish there was more people at the front desk when we go in and out because I can go in and out during the day. Sometimes there's not a lot of people at the front desk, and once it gets dark it's locked.

I looked at Wynwood of Meridian and saw what it was like. I thought it was very nice looking. I checked the room out; it was OK and I thought it was spacious. They don't have a dining room, because they had a dining area in each of the different rooms there and lounges. I saw the residents doing some crafts and painting. I thought the place was fairly safe.

Visited this facility with my mom as we are looking for an assisted living facility. The place had a very homey feeling. Staff and residents were very friendly and welcoming. Facility offers a variety of activities. Thus said we had a concern about cleanliness. The carpets in the hallways and especially stairs needed vacuuming. I used a stairway in the back of the building leading to the beautiful back courtyard and it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. There is an odor of urine outside a couple of the residents rooms. There are several intimate dining areas but the floors are not cleaned after meals. We saw food and spills on the floors. Because of these concerns we are looking elsewhere.

Wynwood is very nice. Everyone is very friendly. It's not geared for my mother. I think it's for people who are a little bit more independent. The rooms are generously-sized, and they are very clean. The furnishings are pleasant.

My mom came up from Florida and I went to lunch with her during Valentine's Day at Wynwood of Meridian. They had an excellent meal. They have a chef on site and a dietician. It was very nice. They've been more than accommodating. The people I've worked with so far are very personable. They have all kinds of social activities including cards, physical activities, somebody comes in and does the hair and nails and arts and crafts. They have a gym, too. It has the level of care that we need, and it is affordable. This is our favorite from all the places we've toured.

I am/was a resident of this facility

The location of Wynwood of Meridian is very nice. I chose it because it's close to a friend's house and I needed a place where I can take my dog. The people are very nice and the staff is terrific. They have different areas for dining and the food is delicious. The rooms are pretty nice, but the bathrooms are not very good because it's too small that you wouldn't be able to use your wheelchair around it easily. They have exercises every morning. It's a beautiful facility, but not very handicapped friendly.

Wynwood of Meridian was a very nice place and accessible to services she needed like medical and shopping centers. They had different activities and things for the residents to do. Although I hadn't tried their food, I saw that it looked good and they had a nice variety. The room was a little small for my aunt's purposes since she had a lot of stuff from her hobbies. Otherwise, the size was perfectly adequate. I would have been happy if my aunt stayed there.
