I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This facility is horrible! My friend entered in November 2022 and spent the worst 9 months before getting transferred to another facility. There are 3 residents per room which leaves no place for a comfortable visit and extremely close patient to patient. The bathroom shares between 2 rooms, so 6 people to 1 bathroom. There is no menu choice, you get what everyone else does even if you don't like it. Showers did not occur even once a week. I was on the phone with him more than once when a care giver was very rude and loud to him. Complaints were made. He needed adult diapers, went 6 hours without being changed once, many times more than 3 hours. Lots of calls about that, excuse was doing the best with what staff they had. Incident report had to be made for a caregiver slapping his leg repeatedly. The facility always smelled bad. His family worked all the 9 months to get to a better facility and thankfully it worked. The new place seemed like a 5 star hotel compared. I know staff shortages are at many places, but nobody deserves such care. Patients are ill, losing independence and can be stressful yet they need respect.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Checked my dad in here for rehab to regain some strength after surgery. He wasn’t able to get around on his own. Once we got to the 2nd floor I knew we made a mistake. We were overcome by smell of urine. Then we saw there was 3 people to a room with beds and furniture that were worn out 20 years ago. After 3 phone calls from my father in span of 15 hours needing help from nurses he couldn’t get ahold of, I knew we were moving him right away. The nurses were nice and cordial, but they can only do so much without the proper tools in place to help assist in care. If you care for your loved one and want them to get help, I would look elsewhere.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

After making the decision on my mothers behalf, I placed her in a facility. They talked a good game but in end of the day, the had her so over medicated that she had no idea who, where, why, nothing at all. She became lifeless and stopped moving which was what they wanted. A blister on her heal ended up with a leg amputation because of lack of care. I ended up moving her to Fenton Health Care. She is now on 1/3 the medication from the "other place". We have had video chats twice a week since Covid, and I am beyond shocked at her attitude, spiritedness, etc. She laughs, tells stories, and we have some of the most pleasant talks that we've had in years. I get a weekly call from her attending nurse to discuss her medical situation, and two weekly videos with mom where we share talks of life. She is so happy, and so am I. Making this decision was difficult, but the care she is receiving makes it feel like I did the right thing. Thank you Fenton Health Care!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Although intake was a positive experience, it became clear that many of the people in charge were concerned mainly about revenue rather than patients. I felt hounded, even more so after my loved one died. They called fast when I owed money, but radio silence when it came to condolences and an explanation after a positive covid diagnosis of my loved one at the hospital after leaving the facility. Whatt do they care? Beds are scarce and clearly genuine compassion and pubic relations no longer truly matter. I wouldn't do it over again if given the choice. Cold and rude.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I had a relative there and the facility is sooo old and nasty smelling. It reeked of urine and feces. The rooms didn't even have real beds. They appear to be cots. Three patients to a room. They need to tear it down and build over. He was there two weeks and never received any therapy. I took him out. On the plus side the staff was very nice and I liked them all.

I visited this facility

I didn't really care for Fenton Healthcare at all. The dining area was OK; but kind of old, and the rooms were very old. They had three people in a room, and they're only separated by a curtain. They're very narrow. It looks like they haven't modernized it at all ever. The staff was OK.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Dad was in Fenton, and it was horrible; I had even call the state on them, it was that bad. The experience was absolutely terrible and very disappointing. The facility was outdated, the staff was overworked, and they didn’t care. He stayed in a very small room, and he didn’t seem to care with the food. I would not recommend that place. The atmosphere was kind of stressful, they must improve on the staffing and the care for the patients, and they need to be more attentive.

I am a friend or relative of resident

The office staff is disorganized and appointments are repeatedly mixed up. My friend was sent to two appointments at the wrong offices with no advocate in attendance with her.
