I went to The Wellington at Springfield. I thought that the community and the people felt very welcoming. The tour guide that was supposed to be giving us the tour was sick, but they accommodated us with the building manager giving us a tour. All of the residents stopped and gave us their reviews of the space. It feels like a very welcoming community. The amenities were average. Compared to the other place, in which everything felt polished and was a brand new feeling, The Wellington felt a little bit more used. There were balconies in some of the really large spaces. It's a little bit more independent feel because there's laundry in the rooms and full kitchens that can be used. It felt more like a community for somebody more into independent rather than assisted living.

The food is not great and variety is poor. The staff, when they can keep them, are good. The elevators are old and dirty. The carpeting throughout the building is old and stained.

We moved our parents from a large two family house, in a marginal neighborhood, to Wellington over 13 years ago. The safety, security and community at Wellington was truly a welcome change for them and gave us, their children, a great sense of relief.

My father-in-law is paying at least $900 per month MORE than any other resident. He has been there for 6 years. People who moved in after him were enticed by a lower rent, yet Dad has had his rent increased every year.

I toured The Wellington at Springfield. The staff were friendly. Residents raved about their experience so far, and the facility was clean and friendly. The staff who toured me was knowledgeable about senior needs and was friendly. The rooms were clean. I like how they had a small kitchenette so residents could prepare some of their own meals if they wanted to, and they had nice large windows for light. There's a variety of rooms. They had a variety of different activities from crafts to music to other interests. They had a beauty salon and a library.

The Wellington at Springfield had an overhang for you to drive under, which I thought was nice. It gives you a little bit of the hotel-ish feel. It's three stories and they have elevator access when you walk into the lobby. It's very inviting, very clean, and very open. You almost immediately feel like you're walking into someone's living space. I like the idea that they require everyone to check-in. I also like the fact that they can transition from independent living to assisted living, if necessary, at any point in time. So, I thought that was important to me for my mom. The hallways were nice and wide. There are little alcove areas that they have set up with tables, that look just like the ones you would see in your own home. It has nice furniture and nice paintings up on the walls, which gave me a very soothing feel to it. The apartment was bigger than some of the others that I've seen. They were very nicely done with a full kitchen and an apartment-sized refrigerator. Bathrooms are spacious enough to get in with the wheelchair and they're accessible. They have a built-in seat for showering. Both the bathroom and the living room have a pull cord in case they fall. If they need help, someone is in the building 24/7, which is also really nice. I feel very comfortable with that. The property is lovely. It's nice and well-maintained. I loved their dining area. There were separate areas so that you get a little private dining nook. It was quite lovely. The staff was also fantastic. They were super accommodating. I had some car trouble and I missed my appointment time. I called and they had no problem with it and I could still come in. Then they made arrangements for someone else to show me the apartment. Kendra was the marketing admissions person there. She took a lot of time just to explain different programs to me. There was no sales pitch involved at all. Some of the others have followed up with me, which feels a little bit more like a sales, but that was not the case with them at all.

I was only at The Wellington at Springfield for a few minutes, but I took the tour. It seemed very nice and secure for the memory care unit. It was very clean too. There was no smell or anything to it. They offer a single room and companion units.

We went to The Wellington at Springfield. They were very nice. It was very clean. The woman there was very friendly and helpful. The room that we saw was a one-bedroom. It had upgraded wood floors, and it had a shared balcony. Unfortunately, the one thing I didn't like was they had an apartment sized refrigerator, not a full-size refrigerator. They were going to replace the one that was there with a stainless steel one, which was an upgrade. Their cafeteria was closed for some type of a renovation. They had like an activity room, where they do arts and crafts and painting. She said that they had a movie room, which was just a big screen TV. They had a place where you could get some books. She said once a week they try to take the residents some place, but she wasn't specific as to where.

The Wellington at Springfield was very clean and very nice. The rooms seemed very nice and also accessible for handicap or elderly people. It seemed to have a nice dining area, and from what I saw on the board, they seemed to have some good activities. I was very pleased. The staff was very cordial, very nice, and answered any questions that we had. They have some kind of chair yoga and chair exercises, which caught my eye because I like exercising and that would be something that my mom could do sitting in a chair. They also have bingo. The dining room was very spacious, the tables looked good, and they had a little area over there where you could get coffee and that seemed appealing. The courtyard outside seemed appealing, too. I saw the menu and it looked really good, but I didn't experience the meals.

The apartment at The Wellington at Springfield was currently an apartment used by the office staff or the administrator. It was very spacious and clean. I know my mother wouldn't be happy there. It took me a long time to get there; there was a lot of traffic and a lot of stoplights. At first, I couldn't find the place inside. Once I got in, I just drove past the sign and went to another building; it was difficult for me to find. The grounds are beautiful. I met the activities person; they had a lot of things to do.

Our tour to The Wellington at Springfield was great, but the cost for us was too much. The people though were very, very good. We had no problems with them at all. They made sure that we had lunch before we left and were waiting for us to come back. We had talked to Emma and a couple others there. We told them that if we can't do any better on the prices, then there's no sense in even trying to sell it. That's as far as it went, because they can only come down so much. We liked the size of the apartments, the friendliness of the people that were in charge of things, and that the explanations were clear. They really went out of their way to do everything they could. It was just a great place to be. The people were very, very friendly. It was a great team to work and to talk with. The food was also terrific, and they even gave us a little dessert cake to take home. Everything was nice and clean. We only expected a little microwave or something and that would be it, but it was actually a full size kitchen. The bathrooms were terrific. I have no qualms about any of them, actually. The Wellington at Springfield was absolutely fantastic, and it really hurts to not be able to get in there.

My aunt was at The Wellington at Springfield. It was lovely there. It was supportive, caring, clean, and very pleasant. The employees were great, no issues at all. I tried their food once or twice, and it was fair. They had music, entertainment, bingo, and group exercise, they had quite a bit of activities. The place was very nice.

I'm leaning towards The Wellington at Springfield. I'm planning to move in around March, and I've already had one in-person tour. It's more reasonable. Some of the elders that I visited has a full kitchen. I think the laundry service is good but there's also a washing machine and a dryer in each room so that's very good. I have a car and they told me that they will clean the car out after snow storm, so I think that's very good too. While I was there, there were several ladies who live there and came up to me and told me they were very pleased with where they live. They thought the food options were good and they recommended coming in to that place. It wasn't just one person, it was a couple of them and I think that was a factor that people who live there seemed content. They seemed to have everything enough that I could keep busy. I'm interested in the room where they have so many exercise equipment. They had a TV room, and I also like to watch sports so that was good. I could also bring my own TV in, that's another thing. I would be in the independent living and if ever I needed some help, I wouldn't have to move too far. They accommodate assisted living or memory impairment and the whole thing. I enjoyed that whereas at some of the elder places, after independent living, you have to find some places. I would rather get settled and that's where I would be. The next thing that I would like to do is to take a taste of some food over there and to see exactly what's going on. But with this pandemic, it's very difficult to do that. I want to call them and find out because I don't know how much the deposit is going to be, and I think they have an entrance one-time fee of $500, I could manage that. If there was a garage with a cover, I would have given it a higher score. The room was adequate. I wouldn't say it was a large room, compared to my house it was really smaller. Their kitchen area is open, I could use the place but with my furniture in there, it would be a little tight. The elder bedroom is okay but I would have liked to have a room for my dining table, I can't take that with me because there was no room. Since they're feeding you, you probably don't need a dining room but I like to cook. As far as cooking, my son was telling he can't imagine me living without a kitchen because I am a cook. So I don't know the facilities but I would like something a little bigger. I don't know whether to rent 1 room or 2 rooms where one room would just be used for a dining room. I was going to call the Wellington after Christmas to make sure my name was in their list to make sure they have a facility available for me. What really got me is the full kitchen. I make my own tortellini, I'm a cook. I cook for my own family for holidays and such, I keep up the traditions. In all of the places I've seen, I wouldn't be able to do that.

My parents lives at the Wellington and they are happy. My mom recently passed and the staff were so accommodating. Staff and residents were very compassionate and caring. My parents made so many friends and they always compliment the staff on how helpful and friendly they were. Wouldn’t have them anywhere else. Thank you all for your support in this time.

My aunt and cousin have moved into The Wellington at Springfield. They are getting settled. Everything is going along quite well. I was really impressed with the staff. The apartments were among the largest that I had seen in all the communities that I looked at. It's a well laid out two-bedroom, two-bath. The accommodations are great. The amenities are good. I wouldn't say they're fabulous, but they are good. They have all the basic things available there. They have physical therapy available for an additional fee, they have a beauty parlor for an additional fee, they have a podiatrist come in, and they have a full docket of activities, which has been somewhat compromised because of COVID. I was also impressed that they've remained COVID-free throughout the worst pandemic in Massachusetts. Both of my relatives said the food is good. The facility is very clean, well cared for, and well lit. It's nicely appointed. They certainly weren't the cheapest, but neither were they the most expensive.

I'm very pleased with The Wellington at Springfield. The people are very gracious. They're just lovely people. This is my first experience living like this, but I'm happy because I'm a senior citizen and I'm disabled. Everyone is always ready to please or to serve; whatever you need. I'm happy. The food is excellent. My room is really comfortable, beautiful, and private. I'm very comfortable. The lockdown has taken a toll on everything, but it is not a stressful one. I'm a homebuddy anyway, so it is really fine. It is definitely worth the money.

I saw the Wellington at Springfield. It was very nice, the lady that showed me through the process was very nice, and overall it was an excellent experience. I had no complaints. The staff was excellent, very helpful, shared lots of information, and showed me around. The rooms were very nice, very homey, you have to bring in furniture, but they are more than willing to help in moving, and they can let you use some until you get some. Both times I went to visit there was during lunchtime, the staff was helpful to the patients with their food, and I was told I could come and have lunch with my friend, or take him out. The place is very clean, very well-kept, and with a beautiful lobby. It was close by, and it would have been perfect.

I liked The Wellington at Springfield. The apartments were nice. The dining room looked nice and clean. I liked that you'd be able to cook if you wanted to. If not, you don't have to. The building was nice. People were doing exercises while I was there. The staff during the tour was very good. The food menu looked okay.

The Wellington At Springfield as a whole was affordable, and the food they presented was very well-made. It's personal, the staff was addressing everybody by name. To the customers and would ask them questions like she would ask how's your day, or how's your visit to the doctor. She knows very aspect of the business, and gave us additional information which we appreciated. I really find that this community is affordable and transitional. We saw a 1-bedroom apartment with a bay window, it had very clean carpets and walls, a full kitchen, and a separate bedroom. There's no dining room, there's just a small table, there's a special light which I love. The food was delicious, we had different choices and they then gave us dessert which was great to have. The food was very nutritional and ideal, it was very good. I love the warm approach of the people working there. The marketing lady we met was helpful in answering our questions and giving suggestions. I was just very pleased with the staff, including the restaurant staff, all of them were very courteous and smiling asking us if we want this or that. They have different choices of food whether we want this salad or that salad and so on. Personally, it's inconvenient having to go across downtown, and there's lots of traffic, so it takes a while to get to the community.

My mom moved into independent living at The Wellington at Springfield. It's absolutely beautiful and it looks like a five-star hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The amenities are beyond our expectations. The food is excellent and wonderful. They have an activity room for crafts, a very nice little gym, and weekly bus trips to doctors' appointments and shopping.

The Wellington at Springfield would be a good fit for Mom and Dad. The room they showed was a good size and it was very close to the dining room. It was very homey on a much smaller scale and I felt my parents would have felt very comfortable there. The staff was very nice and outgoing. They would also assist them with doctors' appointments. It's an older facility and not as new and posh, but it still had a lot to offer.

I really like The Wellington at Springfield. The rooms are clean and updated. The building itself is only a few years old. It has everything that would be needed to be comfortable. I saw activities going on and I saw the craft room and lunch room. The residents were clean, well-fed, and seemed happy to be there. The staff was really nice. The staff member I met was very engaging, answered all my questions, and followed up. It's just a fairly large place that involves a lot of walking.

The Wellington at Springfield was a fine community. They had a room available. They were friendly. The management was very nice to us. The Wellington Memory Care area is very brightly colored, each room and hallway section is a different bright and bold color, which is lovely and helpful to residents to identify boundaries and different areas. Their dining area had square tables and a nice menu. They allowed the residents to go outside, but since the outdoor area cannot be seen from within, residents have to be chaperoned, so it was not as leisurely. The activities seemed very nice and very interactive. For us, the only drawback was travel time. The drive was about an hour each way with traffic, thus being substantially further than what we hoped for. Otherwise, the Wellington is a very nice place for the residents.

The Wellington at Springfield was very nice. We really liked the setup. It was clean, convenient, and everything about it was very nice. Dad sat down and the girl knelt down on the floor in front of him and presented the place while she was on the floor. They had exercise equipment, like a treadmill and a bike.

The person at The Wellington at Springfield that gave us the tour was wonderful. The rooms were fabulous, and I thought the accommodation was really great. I just didn’t like their location because it was too far out, but their price was reasonable. They take the residents to places and they bring in entertainment, and the residents actually looked very happy. The dining area was beautiful, but we didn’t try the food.

My mother-in-law is at the Wellington at Springfield. They are very attentive, caring, and just wonderful people. Their nurses are terrific. She is very happy where she is. They tend to her, and it is a good place. It is a beautiful place; the layout is just perfect. I have no complaints at all. She is sharing a room with another resident, and she loves it; she is very happy. It is well-maintained, and they come and do laundry service once a week. It is just the perfect place. She is OK with their food -- a little bland and on the cold side sometimes when she gets it -- but she chooses sometimes to eat something simple in her room. Their dining facilities are beautiful. It is very spacious and plenty of tables, and the set up is pretty with tablecloths and flowers on each table. They allow family to dine with you if you like.

It is nice, big, and clean. They brought us to the dining room and showed us a movie, brochures, and gave a speech. The food was good and served restaurant-style.

It was very nice. I met the people, and I thought I am going to choose it if I am ready because I met the people and everybody seemed to be very happy, and they talk to us. The people are more active and friendly. The location is very nice; it’s close to Washington University. The food was very good, I would rate that very high. They only served two meals, and I like the layout of the rooms. It was a little easier for me, and they had handicapped baths.
