I would have picked zero for my rating, but it was not an option. My dad has been in hospice for over two years. He has dementia and his aortic heart valve is no good. We took care of him at home for two years with the help of hospice, but the incontinence and push back (the dementia) got us to the point where we just weren't equipped to handle it. We promised to keep him home so this was not a decision we wanted to make. Stafford hill had a great reputation-online reviews and word of mouth- They told us my mom could be a wife and a friend again, and I can be a daughter, and they would take care of dad. We bought it and sent him there for a 60 day respite, a trial period. He was never evaluated , and we were very clear about where he was. They came to mom's a couple of three times to get the check though. After one week, the staff started calling mom saying he was a problem. Wandering around, fighting getting changed, going in other rooms, too much laundry, etc. That is what end stage dementia patients do. We knew that. From week 2 to about week 5 dad had 6 falls and four trips to the hospital. Last trip we refused to send him back. He was not safe there. He was always dirty, and in his room alone. He stopped talking and connecting. We are heartbroken that we put him in this situation. Bills very expensive on top of 'apartment ' rental. Ambulances, hospital bills, extra care at Stafford provided by us, required by them. No accountability whatsoever from them. Dad is safe and being well taken cate of now. If you really love your person, do not send them here.

My friend's a resident of Stafford Hill. The area I visited was more of an Alzheimer's area because you didn't get down there and they'd have to buzz you in. The staff were very attentive to the residents and caring. They have a nice dining area, but I didn't sample the food. One time I went in there and they were bowling, more or less a different type, but they were bowling. So, they do offer some things to them. The facility is very nice. The place seems nice to me, and the people are nice. I don't know if they allow pets for the people, but I know pets have come in with visitors.

One of the first places we went to for my mother was Stafford Hill. It was completely beautiful, the whole thing, the staff was lovely, and the facilities were lovely. It's just that the cost impact was a couple of thousand dollars more than at the other place, and that equates to extra months if we run out of money. The staff loved what they were doing. They loved where they were. If I could have moved there, I would have. I did like that they had a doctor that came in, their own physician, and a couple of times a week that you could make appointments for. They had transportation, it seemed like they had a lot of outings outside the facility, and a lot of group things where the memory care would join the assisted living residents for gatherings and music.

My parents moved into Stafford Hill. It is really nice and lovely. The room was what she was looking for. It is small and not really large; it is kind of intimate and it seems quiet. I like the staff and the food seems pretty delicious. And the location is perfect for me. The staff is young, energetic, and attentive. The rooms are beautiful. They have gorgeous floors, clean, with nice paint. They have beautiful windows with great views. They have wide doors, heavy closet doors, big closets, and a little kitchenette; it is very nice. I know they have a paint room where they can learn how to paint. She had to go in and be quarantined for 14 days so she's just now allowed to roam about and check out the stuff. It is very expensive, but I took it because there was a lot of value there.

My uncle moved into Stafford Hill two weeks ago. It is a beautiful community. Everyone is very nice and very helpful. It is an adjustment going into a community like that and not going home, but my uncle was very excited to go there. He likes it. I've asked him many times how he feels about it, and he always says, "So far, so good." He likes the food and the people. My uncle has a very nice, good-sized apartment with his own kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The location for him is really excellent because it is a very short walk to the dining room and activities. We are very happy. Anyone that's looking for a community, I would definitely recommend Stafford Hill.

We decided on Stafford Hill because of the services that they offered. They had classes and activities like music, bingo, brain activity, and fitness things. They had a lovely dining room facility and a comprehensive program. They had an outdoor cookout area where the brought people out at least once a week and a bus that could take the people to their doctors' appointments. They also had a wellness center in the facility.
