I visited this facility

I toured Brookdale Cushing Park and saw a one-bedroom apartment, that was a lot nicer than I expected. I also saw the fitness place, where people eat, and the little nooks and crannies here and there. The facilities were very high-level. They got a very nice little sunshine room. It's very lovely and very nice. The people who were there seemed very nice. Monique was wonderful.

My impression during the visit to Brookdale Cushing Park was fine. It just didn't speak to me as well as the one we chose for my mom. They have a beautiful garden with a nice layout. They had very accommodating staff because they gave me all kinds of samples of food to take to my mom for her to try. I was pretty impressed by that. I was late because I got lost. and they didn't give me a hard time about that, even though they had to reorganize their schedule a little bit to give me a tour. So I appreciated that.

I toured Brookdale Cushing Park. The place was very nice, very, very clean, and very well-organized. The people were very, very friendly. The menu was good, too. I saw people relaxing and enjoying themselves, and I think there was some online seminar there that some of the people were participating in. I was very impressed by it. There's the washer-dryer room, and I think there's one available close to most occupants. I saw the studio, the 1-bedroom, and the 2-bedroom.

My impression of the tour we had at Brookdale Cushing Park was positive. The place was clean and neat, and the people were professional. The layout was spacious. It's spread out, almost a little too spread out but it was alright. They had a beauty shop and they had a walking path.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been in Brookdale Cushing Park for a week now, and I like it very much. It's a great place, it is. Compared to where I was before, I have a beautiful apartment, and there's plenty of room. The living accommodations here are way, way better than I had at the other facility. I got my own bedroom, new appliances in the kitchen, and a new bathroom. I think it's a very good place. They've been very, very welcoming to me, and I like the people here and the staff also. The staff is very good. You get a continental breakfast which is included in your rent, and then for lunch, they have like a sandwich, fries, and a dessert for $4. A full dinner is included in your rent, and the food here is very good. They have activities. The cost of it is about half of where I was before, and my apartment is way better than what I had where I was before.

I visited Brookdale Cushing Park. The person who showed me around was lovely. She was very informative. She knew a lot about the place. She's been there seven or eight years. She showed me both an apartment and a cottage. My only issue was we'll be transferring from a house to this place, and I didn't think there was enough room in either the apartment or the cottage for two people. The place was beautiful and very well kept. Everybody I met was very friendly and very nice. I saw some of the activity rooms. It was a lovely place, and I love the setting. It was in a park.

The one that I went to personally visit was the Brookdale Cushing Park. It's a fantastic facility for the seniors. It is also good pricewise. The rooms are a bit tiny, and they have to do some updates. The rest is fantastic. The lady who showed me around was just kind and very informative. Everybody seemed to be friendly over there. They have a beautiful dining area, and I think it's newly renovated. They have activities for the senior citizens. They have a lot of activities; I was pretty impressed. Because it's facing the pond, it has a beautiful park area where they could walk during the summer and springtime. I'm sure it's beautiful, and everything will be blooming. They have a beautiful area where families can come, congregate, and have dinner or lunch with their loved ones. It was pretty nice; I liked it. The one I visited was independent living, but they have options in case the individual needs further help or extra care as they go old there. They have assisted living and memory care. I spoke to a couple of the older ladies over there, and they seemed pretty happy. The only reason I didn't give them 5 is because the room that I saw at that time, the carpet needed to be changed, and even the stove needed to be changed. The staff said she would do it in case my mother-in-law was interested in staying. They were pretty adaptable. I saw the menu and it seemed pretty interesting. It wasn't a boring menu, but I didn't get the chance to taste the food. Because it's an independent living section of the complex, they have a fridge and a stove. The bathrooms seemed to be pretty safe, and they had all the necessary safety rails. There was an alarm system in case the individual falls down. They had cabinets for storage, a closet in the room, and a window that gives them enough light. It was livable. The room that they showed me, another person had just left; it used to be occupied. It's a nice place for somebody who likes to go on walks because they have a beautiful lake on the other side of the road (which they can have access to). It turns into a frozen pond in the winter. It's a huge lake, and they had swans on it. Where the facility is located, the ground itself is beautiful. There's a huge park full of trees and walkways. I visited it during the winter, so everything is kind of gray in the winter.

Brookdale Cushing Park's place looks nice. I wasn't impressed with the salesperson. The apartments were really, really tiny. Smaller than some of the others that I've seen online. It was only a kitchenette. It reminded me more of a nursing home, rather than independent living. The one apartment that the staff showed me had a balcony, but you couldn't use it because they need to restructure them; they were not stable. I wasn't impressed with the place. I'm not sure how to describe it, but the apartments are too small. The layout is not good. I didn't think it was good. I got the impression that she was just there to sell, sell, sell. In retrospect, it did look like a nice place, but I don't think they kept it up too well.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been in Brookdale Cushing Park for over four years now, and she loves the people there, but she needs additional assistance than she can get in assisted living. The overall experience was excellent, the people were wonderful, and they would help however they could. She loves the food, she loves the chef there, Mike. They had meetings where all the residents could meet with Mike, and tell him what they'd like to see on the menu. They're very, very accommodating to the residents. The building is very nice, they just finished redoing it with the fireplace and everything else, we did the country kitchen, so they keep up with their premises, and you got the Cushing park where it's nice to watch people walking even if you can't walk. They have a beauty salon there, they have a podiatrist come in, they have chair exercises every morning, trivia, and I think once a week they do the news type thing where they all sit down and discuss that. She's blind and deaf, so it's a little difficult for her to participate in all the other things like bingo and all that stuff, but they do that, they take them out on bus rides, around like in the Fall to see the leaves, and they do have quite a few different musicians come in and play. That's what she enjoyed the most when they could have people come in and play the old songs. For COVID where nobody could do anything they did a video, one of their people is a semi-professional dancer, she and her husband danced, and they did a video dancing to the Christmas music, so they do quite a bit for their people.

I worked a lot with Brookdale Cushing Park for my mom, and they were great. I was very pleased with them. We chose it for its location. My mom wanted to stay in her hometown of Framingham, and they were there. She also wanted flexibility in regard to the smoking policy. My mom has been a smoker more often than not in her life, and of all the places in Framingham that I looked at, this was the only place that had an outdoor smoking area where they would allow residents to smoke cigarettes. I actually went ahead, signed a lease, and moved her belongings into an independent living apartment, but she passed away a week and a half after her belongings were moved in. So she remained in the hospital and was not able to move in. Everything seemed to be easily accessible, the decor was warm and inviting, and they were spread out for safety due to COVID, but it was still a warm and inviting place where people could safely connect with each other.

Brookdale Cushing Park had a very nice presentation. It's a nice place. The staff looked friendly and professional. The rooms seemed very nice. They had a dining area, a religious service area, a common area, and a place for fitness and movies. The atmosphere seemed very pleasant.

I chose Brookdale Cushing Park because they have cottages outside of the main building, and I'm not in need of assistance at this point. My tour was great, the staff showed me everything from the dining room to all the rooms available. When I saw the cottages, I saw that I would have easier access to my car and also to assistance. I could get across for the meals and everything else, so it's not a big deal. It was a very clean and nice place. They have a little bit of everything in terms of activities, they have cards, it's got outside pathways for walking and sitting. It's like any other set up, but it just had a few more things there that I could take part of. It's also a third cheaper than where I am now.

Brookdale Cushing Park was nice. They got assisted living and independent living. They offered meals for all residents. It was OK, but it was too restrictive for me. I saw one independent living unit. It was a nice little townhouse that had a garage. The kitchen was reasonable and the unit was OK. I met the staff at the front desk and the woman that took us around were both terrific. The dining room looked nice, but we didn't see a lot.

Brookdale Cushing Park would have been my second choice. I liked the facility. It's in the middle of the park so the outside was just absolutely beautiful, and really nice. They have a library, and the dining room and living area are beautiful, with beautiful furniture and amenities, but no one is there. They're empty. The residents were in their room or sitting outside. The staff was great, the dining area looked like a restaurant, somebody was getting a haircut at the salon, and they were playing bingo.

My mother is in memory care at Brookdale Cushing Park. The services are pretty good and they provide everything I need. The people in the memory care portion seem to be very attentive and they make sure that my mom is cared for and has everything she needs. The facility itself is not upper class or lower class, but just in the middle. There are a lot of places to sit outside and watch people walk their dogs and their kids, and I thought that was great since a lot of the rooms overlook the walking area. It's also convenient for me because it's only ten minutes away. The rooms are comfortable. We were fortunate to have an oversized room, which is beautiful, nice, clean, bright, and sunny. The smaller rooms are also comfortable enough for one person. We're very satisfied with it. The meals look fine. They're not gourmet, but they're not fast food. The chef is very accommodating.

Brookdale Cushing Park has only two meals daily and assigned dinner seating. It has a $3,250 buy-in and you have 1-bedrooms and cottages. It was nice. I had an appointment, but the person I was supposed to meet was not available, so a young lady took us around, but she didn't have all the answers we had. The staff was good except for not having the real guide available. Other than that, it was fine.

Brookdale Cushing Park was clean, and the elevators worked. The rooms were a little small but had full kitchenettes and two bedrooms. They had all the amenities, except for a swimming pool. They had an exercise room with machines, like a treadmill and other things I can use. The food looked good.

Brookdale was very nice. We went to their cookout. We were also given a tour around the building and saw one of the apartments, the dining room, the gym, and the theater. We saw some of the activities that were available, which were very nice. The people were very good. I wasn't aware that the rooms would be so small. Other than that, they look good. The dining room looked like they were all set up for dinner. I think there were four place settings at each table. I don't know how many tables, but they looked very nice. They had a bus that would take you shopping around the area. The area looked very nice. I liked the grounds a lot. It looked like there was a brook or body of water and walking area.

I left Brookdale Cushing Park in 2015. The place was very nice and very clean. The staff people were very good. There was Bridge, but most of the people were mentally not well enough to play Bridge, so it wasn’t a lot of fun. The dining area was very nice, except that the food was terrible. Basically, they need to serve better food. The price was good.

Brookdale Cushing Park was very large. They had about 30 or 40 independent homes with garages and everything else, plus independent living in three or four large buildings. We met with the sales director who was very helpful and had a lot of information. We were very satisfied, and it was very good.

We are looking to possibly move to Brookdale Cushing Park. The food looks lovely; I had dinner there. I think it is a community atmosphere. The maintenance is on a par, and there are a lot of places to sit. In the lobby, the residents are offered ginger ale or wine to drink while sitting around, which is very nice. They are treated like adults there.

Brookdale Cushing Park is assisted living, and the staff is very nice, but I feel that the director and the corporate people are not very in touch with what's going on. The people that have worked there are wonderful, but I wouldn't rate the administrative people very high. The rooms are average. It's not fancy, but it's clean. The closets are horribly small so don't bring any clothes. I couldn’t believe how small the closets were. The living areas are a little small but manageable. The dining room is very nice, and there are a lot of choices for meals. The chef is excellent, knows everybody's names, and is personable. He bakes cookies in the afternoon and delivers them to everybody. The staff is nice. I just feel they're not managed well by the administrative people.

Brookdale Cushing Park (formerly Emeritus at Farm Pond Campus) is excellent. We've only been here a little over three weeks, but it has reached my expectations. The meals have been good. I'm happy. They have an exercise room here that I use every day. They have some musical programs, games, movies, etc. I have a private apartment that is acceptable, not fancy or anything, but has everything I need.

I am the daughter of a resident, and I am very disappointed that my mother cant continue to have the housekeeper she has known for while and got to trust. Housekeepers at brookdale, from what I understand are under paid for the responsibilities and jobs well done at the Oaks bldg. My mother is paying for a service she's not getting from the other housekeeper she was assigned to. In my opinion that's not appropriate professional behavior the residents and their families are the number one priority!!

I do not recommend the memory impaired ALF at all. They advertise their safe and secure environment however that is not the case. My family member was able to get out as the doors are easily opened with instructions posted. Their resolution was for me to pay to have someone stay with my family member at my cost in addition to the ALF fees. Not sure how that is my problem? They also are unable to handle any behaviors that may come up including confusion, sundowning etc which is extremely common in someone with dementia. We put my family member here for them to provide care which was not available by this facility. Find another location as staff here are not willing to work with you at all or take responsibility for their lack of staff and security.

What I like about Emeritus at Farm Pond was that it was rural. Ironically, what my mother didn't like about it was that it was rural. In the past, they had problem with recording and stuff and they got scolded by the state, but they did say that they had it corrected. In terms of cleanliness, there was nothing bad about the smell. For activities, I think they offered just about everything that everybody else did. Food was fine. There was enough variety of food. Service was also fine.

I loved Emeritus. The rooms were spacious and they had a living room with a separate bedroom. I really liked how the windowsills are really deep that you could put decorations and pictures there. The rooms are very bright with big windows and it was very cheerful. Ed, the one who toured us was very patient, he didn't rush us or anything but he showed us everything and answered all our questions. The commute in going to Framingham, however was a nightmare. I would recommend this place to anybody.

I visited several assisted living facilities and was most impressed by Farm Pond's consistent attention to detail and their responsiveness to my numerous questions that the staff entertained even before I settled my father in here. The center had different levels of care based on patient needs. It was always clean and never smelled of urine. And when I visited unannounced, could not catch the staff mistreating or ignoring any patients. For my fathers condition, the day was well-structured to include nutritious meals, stretching, mild to moderate exercise, crafts that included motor skills as well as sequencing activities, games, music, and daily bus trips. They allowed small pets and welcomed visitors at any time day or night. The bedrooms were spacious and the layout for the Alzheimer patients was mirrored so that they never felt they "went the wrong way." They also communicated frequently with me on my Dad's day to day outlook and condition. My overall impression of this facility was positive and I would recommend it highly.
