This place is a DUMP. Please do not send any family members to this place. The food is horrible. The staff are rude, lazy and incompetent. They didn't even have a wheelchair when my husband was admitted. The ambulance driver had to unhook his wheelchair in order to take my husband to his room. Patients have to wait more than 1/2 hour before someone responds. My husband's Bluetooth, and $30 was stolen from him. Also this place is unsanitary. AVOID THIS NURSING HOME!!

My mother in law was there for the rehab portion. When she arrived she was able to walk, get on and off the toilet by herself. She hurt her knee, goes for "rehab" and now.... she can't sit up by herself, can't walk, can't feed herself. She lost 24lbs in 1 month. Her feet are dry, cracked and have a fungus (both feet). And because of covid restrictions we didn't know or see any of this until she was finally home. They told us to come get her at 10am. Family took off, her paid caregivers came to assist to be told she can't walk or sit up so she needs to be transported by an ambulance. So she arrived at home at 815pm. Almost 11 hours after we were told to pick her up. They waited until it was snowing, cold, dark to bring her home in nothing but a gown. There was food still on her chest, her depends was dirty and wet and feces in her private area. Her skin was dry. And they didn't send her clothes or shoes home with her. They could have given it to us when we were there at 10am

Pictures do not show accuracy. Go on an unplanned tour Monday-Friday Request to see all floors. Not all Rehab people are actually put on the rehab floor. Poor food quality If you are 9n a special diet everyone gets the same thing. Do not take valulables. Make sure family visits and most are allowed to be put in the chart so questions can be answered by nursing and doctors to family members. Have a family member there as much as possible. Not enough staff to get people to activities. Make sure bathrooms have soap so you and staff can wash your hands regularly. Report anything you see that bothers you to the right people. Do not report or leave a message to the phone number by the elevator, it only goes to the administrator. People get better faster when family is around. Make sure clothes have names on them and that anything new is added to the patient, client, residents inventory list. Worst nursing home I have ever been in. I tried donating items and residents were so happy but a female administrator made men put it all back in my vehicle. They needed and wanted these items. The administrator made sure they didnt get them. They the residents were so sad one said this is worse than the Joseph house. I dont know what that means. Roof leaks over dining area for years, buckets on the floor and residents must eat in rooms. Not fire safe at all. Beds sticking out due to a wall being a restraint, but not being able to get your wheel chair out of a room is a restraint and dangerous if there is a fire. How would any one get a non ambulatory 600 pound woman off the 3rd floor with no elevator in a fire ? There is so much more. Residents that wear pap machines, well they need to be cleaned so that recurring respiratory infections dont occur and so people don't die from it. Most staff are wonderful but over worked under paid. Call outs may leave the floor with one GNA.

Care at this facility is very poor. My Aunt and Uncle are patients there. They are neglected and it seems administration is powerless to do anything to fix the problems. My Aunt developed a bad infection and had to be sent to another hospital for treatment. She is left to lie in her own feces and urine. The nurses act like they don't care and some of the aids and nurses talk hateful to the patient. I wouldn't send my dog to this facility and if it was up to me, I'd pull my relatives out of this hole!

This has to be the worst of the worst. Housekeeping is non existent. No one comes around to check on the patients in the manner they need. The administrator is incapable of running a facility. Patients can't call nurses because call buttons are out of reach. If you ask they always tell you they are shorthanded. There is always an excuse.met with administrator, head of nursing ,and social worker. All they want to do is pass the buck.

Anchorage has a troubled history but since the new management took over things have really changed. The care is excellent. The staff was wonderful to my aunt. And, wonder of wonders, the food was good. She was delighted. The facility could use a facelift but the quality of care more than makes up for that.
