I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
Our family has had an elderly relative in this home for two years now. We have been amazed at the quality of care that she has been given and how clean, bright and cheerful this place always is. During the current crisis the devoted staff is going above and beyond to care for their residents even knowing they themselves are also at risk. God bless each and every one of them!

I am/was a resident of this facility
Place is horrible. Management are horrible to employees. Food is OK, nursing really tries to do good but are overseen by pushy management that seem to be more interested in making a buck than treating patients. Use to be a great facility, not so much any more. Not sure if place has new owners or not but I won’t be returning with my family.

My mother was in a nursing home in Florida but since we were in Severna Park we wanted to bring her closer to home. After some research we brought her to Crofton Care. The staff was absolutely amazing--they got my mother all the special food she liked and she was sooo happy there. Everyone was friendly and supportive. I am a nurse and very picky but can't say enough good things about Crofton Care and would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone looking for superior care for a loved one.

If you're interested in your family member's well-being, skip Crofton Care and Rehab Center (Crofton Convalescent Center). My mom was supposed to be there for one month but I pulled her out in less than two weeks. I took her out because it was worst than taking her back to the ALF and hiring a private duty nurse. There was no choice. I spent 40 minutes sitting in my car waiting for somebody to come out and get my mom to take her into the facility. Then, my mom's wheelchair cushion was soiled on Friday, and when I came back Monday morning, it was still soiled. Also they didn't bath my mother in two weeks. She had surgery, and a week later, the band-aid and the cotton ball where the IV was taken out was still on her leg, so I know they never bathed her. It took them an hour and a half to put her on the toilet. It was an embarrassment what they did. When I confronted the nurse, she said they were all busy and short-handed. My mom never got to go to activities because they kept her in her bed. They never got her out of bed. They could have put her in a wheelchair and wheeled her down to the dining room, but they didn't do that. My mother was a cash-paying customer; it was not like Medicaid was paying them. I paid 100% of the rate to put her in there and to keep her safe, but they couldn't keep her safe.

The Crofton Convalescent Center had very poor service. They just dropped the food in front of him, but my husband cannot feed himself because he couldn’t even swallow, so he never got his breakfast and lunch. He was the nicest man on earth, and I did not like the way he was treated. I saw their doctor twice, who was pretty nice. They had an exercise room, but my husband should not have been exercising because he was dying of Alzheimer’s disease. They would try to force him to stand up for two minutes a day, and he cannot stand up. If I had known that is what they were doing, I would have taken him out of there sooner. Of course they were saying they were doing it for his benefit. They had activities on the board every day, but not everybody can go to these activities without any assistance from the nurses, so they missed out on it. My husband was dying every day and lost weight because nobody was feeding him, so I brought him home and got hospice care.

My one star review does not reflect the staff, who were lovely during my mother's stay (summer 2016). My complaint is that my mother caught a horrific Clostridium Difficile (c-diff) infection while staying there after an unrelated hospital stay. Nearly a year has passed and this is still affecting her, culminating in surgeries and what will be a long term life condition (she had to have some of her colon removed and has been recently diagnosed with Crohn's, which was brought on by the infection). I would avoid this facility at all costs.

My father was a resident of Crofton Care and Rehabilitation for nearly five years. Not only he, but my mother who visited daily were treated with respect, dignity, and love. The staff are some of the most caring and friendly people I have met. They addressed all his medical needs and made him most comfortable during his golden years. They truly were his family.

Crofton Convalescent Center is top-notch. It is a great facility. I would recommend it. I liked it, and if my mother, my wife, or I need to go, we will be there. The place did not smell like urine, it was clean, and it had beautiful and big rooms. What I saw, I really liked.

I visited this facility
I visited Crofton Convalescent Center for my mother. It was clean. They had plenty of activities. However, it didn't seem like home-like as the other one. It was a bigger facility, but it just seemed so big and spread out that it didn't seem they were as closely related to the patients as the other facility. It just didn't seem like the right environment for my mother. The staff was very knowledgeable, and they gave us all the information. However, when we were trying to call them back, no one ever gave us a call back, so I got turned off from that. They did have plenty of activities for the residents. As for the accommodation, it seemed a little bit more crowded. There were like three to every room. There were double rooms, but they were not available. It seemed a little bit more impersonal than the one my mother is at right now. Crofton Convalescent Center needs to improve on communication with families and their interaction because it was a little cold. They didn't receive us in a welcoming way as the other facility did.

My dad came in to Crofton Care Rehab Center because he fell and had a broken hip. It was close to my house, and it had a 4-star rating from the county. The people were wonderful. I liked the cleanliness of the place. It didn't have an odor or anything. He had a shared room, and it was OK. However, they could improve on their response service.

The stations seem understaff every time I'm there. The working staff is great and very friendly - can't say the same from the suits.

Crofton Care was very accommodating even though I didn't make an appointment with them when I visited. We just walked in while at dinner time and they offered my husband if he wanted to sit and have dinner with everybody while this lady took me into the office and talked with me. They were open and like, "Sure you can come in" or "Have a meal with us" Those types of thing. I saw their food and it looked good.

I'm not happy with Crofton Care at all. It's very crowded, and I think I need to bring my mother back home. She has dementia. My brother has the power of attorney and he placed her there. Now he's not even around to be found, so I don't think he can help. I went there one night and everybody was watching football game. She had soiled her diaper and no one was there to attend to her. They weren't caring for her.
But everybody says this place was great. The staff seem very nice. But they badly needed help. It's supposed to be a great place, but the family should come in and check or see the person and speak for them. I'm just fed up. Half of mom's clothes are missing. I'm very upset. I'm not happy at all.

My mother was in the Crofton Nursing Home for almost 2 years. The first thing that I want to say is that our experience was about as good as it could be. The nursing home provided a good environment for my mom. Besides our visits they provide activities such as bingo and board games. They had outside organizations that came in to do thing for the residents such as provide religious services. The therapy to help her with her different disabilities was really good. The staff was very caring, called her by name, came when she called, and paid great attention to the details. They also provided a lot of support and resources to help our family deal my mom's situation. This is one example. My mom was unable to ride in a car due to her disabilities and they helped us acquire transport services that got her to and from the doctors office in her wheel chair. When I would go to ride along with her to these appointments the nursing home had her dressed and ready for her appointments and obviously went the extra mile to make the circumstances as good as possible. I would definitely recommend this facility. They have received awards and I would say that they are well earned.
