My father’s rehabilitation care at FutureCare at North Point was pleasant. His room was always clean. The meals all appeared to have been nutritionally balanced and tasteful. The staff from the front desk to the caregivers were all very nice and understanding to my father’s limitations.

I have been inside the FutureCare North Point building visiting a friend. I was very impressed with the facility. When I entered the building, I wasn't slammed in the face with an "odor" like I normally smell when I walk into a nursing home! It was very clean and tidy! i also ate from the North Point Deli and their food is really good! Finally, my friend was very pleased with the care he received from North Point!

I was very pleased the way my boyfriend was treated and cared for the building was neat and seemed well maintained. The only issue I had was getting in the building for a visit took to long for person to see me to allow the door to open

I visited this facility

My dad who is 89 went there from the hospital to get rehab. As I was sitting there visiting my dad he told me he had to go to the bathroom so he hit the nurses button and no one came he was to weak to walk , so my brother and sister helped him to the bathroom and he went. Then the next day my sister was there and again he hit the nurses button for the toilet and no one came so she helped dad to the toilet twice and they told her she could get in trouble for taking him to the bathroom. I know they are understaffed but no one wants to be sitting in there own waste . Meanwhile my dad fell overnight for the second time because nobody would help him to go to the bathroom. Now the last time he got up to go to the bathroom he slipped and fell and he busted his arm and elbow. So he couldn’t get up and they found him on the floor and they sent him to John Hopkins. Now when my sister with there to visit him at future care they said he fell and went to the hospital. They wouldn’t give anymore info. So my brother called future care to get info and all they did was give him a run around. My sister found out where he was by call 911. This place is a nightmare.. If you love your parents don’t send them to this place. I feel sorry for everyone who has dealt with this place. It is so sad 😢.

My dad was at FutureCare NorthPoint, and they were awful. That was kind of sad because when my mom was in there for rehab, they were awesome, and they were great, but now they are horrible. My dad was supposed to be getting rehab to get his strength back. They just didn't seem to do what they were supposed to do. Therapy got there like 6 AM and they were gone by 2 PM, and they only had it five days a week, not six days a week. My dad got transferred out of the facility, and he was gone for hours. I went there to get his stuff, and I was at work. By the time I got there, he was out for like 2 hours, and the urine bottle that had blood was still sitting at the table. The therapy, I think was inadequate. I don't think they had enough nurses.

My uncle has been there for less than a week and this has been the worst experience ever! The first night there he fell and needed to go to the ER. Now the staff is claiming they can't find his personal property, lost his keys and his wallet. We have called and spoken with multiple people who are unwilling to help us. How do you get admitted into a facility without a wallet and ID? How do I call one day asking for his keys, they confirmed they were there, and today they are now missing? This place is very sketchy and I believe they are taking advantage of the patients during this covid situation where we have no access to them. I'm contacting the county and requesting an investigation. If anyone else has experienced this issue please post.

This was the worse experience ever. My father has been in a nursing home for 5 years and was moved to future care . The treatment there was horrible, he fell several times and was told next time he falls to have a witness, he claimed of coughing up some blood after he fell and was told next time don’t flush the toilet. He then requested to be taken to the Er and was told he was going to be dropped off at bayview by a third company and he would have to wait the 8 hrs to see someone, and he has Alztimers and dementia. That is just some of what on there, and then not to mention Stephenie and Sierra in personnel are the worst customer service people ever. They were rude and not helpful and very very ignorant. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone

My sister is at Future Care Northpoint and it is OK. She has gotten things that she needed to go in for; tested positive for corona and she has salmonella. It is kind of difficult to get through to them, but once they are there they do everything that I think they can do for her. They're very cooperative. It is just hard to reach them by phone, and you can't visit due to coronavirus. So you rely on their information, but it is kind of difficult to get through. For the food, my sister would just say it's OK, but then that one time she and her roommate got sick from the soup, but other than that she really does not complain about the food.

I have been trying to reach my grandmother on hospice who has dementia since 8am. The unit manager advised me she would call me back. I have tried calling 6 times and it is now 1153. Can’t even talk with a nurse. Yesterday she sat in a recliner from 1-8 and no one came in to turn her, mind you she has a broken arm and leg.

I currently have a friend and a relative in this facility, so I frequently visit. The first thing I notice is the cleanliness of the room and it was very tidy. I am impressed with the constant care and attentiveness that I have seen. They provide entertainment to their clients to help make their stay more comfortable. I have eaten in their dining area and I found the food to be good. At times they have special occasions and provide a delicious meal. For a nominal fee of $3.00 you can join your loved one in the dining hall. For example yesterday 2/18/20 was like a renaissance festival. They served spare ribs/turkey drumsticks, corn on the cob, potatoes, soup, and dessert. I want the tomato bisque recipe... it was delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy the festivities as they were being served in period garb by the enthusiastic staff.... including the administrator, who by the way is very active in the daily care of the clients in this facility. I highly recommend this to anyone who may need the kind of help that is provided at this wonderful caring facility.

We have been in other facilities several times. Future care doesn’t do an initial meeting to discuss goals plans. You have to ask to meet with someone Otherwise you won’t know anything until they tell you there is discharge date. That usually occurs a week before discharge. This has happened both times we have been. No follow up occurred for our concerns. Dietary isn’t good for people with limited diets. Not much option for other choices or you have to pay extra. It’s not a terrible place but they need to change procedures

I visited this facility

My dad is a resident of the facility and he isn’t in the best of health. After working with the director and the staff to settle all financial and placement hurtles my dads care has been second to none and his health has improved and stabilized. He seems very happy with the service team on witch he relies daily for care. Everything he needs is right there including dialysis. Rooms are kept clean however there is a slight fowl Oder from time to time. Mostly on the 2nd floor. The staff is professional and prompt when it comes to patients care. The food isn’t the same as home but still edible. Staff is always friendly and courteous. The residents seem to enjoy the atmosphere and activity’s provided. They all have full entertainment access with internet service. On the down side, night shift always seems short handed and could use some more help, day shift is perfect. Something I would add is maybe a raffle with prizes for in house items, a bingo night or game night might be a hit with the staff and residents. I personally want to give much thanks to the director of the facility, Phil. His attention to detail and military service background makes him a awesome asset to the smooth and efficient operation of such a large, healthcare based facility for the elders of the community. In closing my dad is also a veteran, 6 years, United States Army, he isn’t the easiest person to please nor does he compromise on the values of the oath he took so many years ago. When visiting I always ask him about his treatment and his interactions with the staff. In the time he has been at the facility, 10months, he hasn’t had but one complaint and that was his laundry was missing some articles and that was my fault. As I didn’t mark his name or his room number on the collar. He always has wonderful things to say about the service here and how he cannot ask for more. Again my thanks goes out to all those in service to our elderly at future care. God Bless.

Rooms are small and cramped, most rooms have 3 beds. Hallways are blocked by patients and equipment. The second floor smells like an outhouse . The understaffed facility is often late with medication and meals. Water is not given promptly upon request. Overall not clean rooms and halls. Bathrooms are catchalls for equipment and towels. The food is of low quality with no reguard for taste, temperture or variety.

This facility is a pleasant surprise over other places. Very clean; upbeat staff; great energy through activity, appropriate music stimulation, and thematic meals complete with vibrant decorations. The physical therapy room was stocked with modern amenities to provide the best physical rehab. Very different feel from other care facilities. Residents looked kept and happy, content.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Interactions with staff, some were rude, some were helpful. Every time you would ask a question the answer would be " you need to ask someone else. No water pitcher available for the room, we were told it's not that they cannot not have one, we just don't have enough to give to everyone. A water station was set up near nurse station which was a oblong ice chest and a tall cylinder cooler which held the water. Only the staff was allowed to get the water for you. Which I thought was unsanitary. I saw a woman deliver the lunch tray, she then emptied the two urinals and continue onto serving the lunches without washing her hands. As for the food our relative requested no pork he was served pork several times. The roommate had a accident in the bathroom and the mess wasn't cleaned up properly. My family member later used the bathroom and there was still feces on the toilet handle. Then there was the matter that my family member was given too much insulation which could have had dire consequences. There was also another incident involving a mix up medication with my relatives roommate. His roommate was given medication that was intended for my family member, thankfully both of them are very alert and aware of what medications they should be take and caught the mistake. Also, his roommate had waited for over 2 1/2 hours after requesting socks for his feet because they get cold due to his medical condition. Overall this place is run on a shoestring budget, is very understaffed, very disorganized and could a use renovation. Which I believe has led to the above incidents. I would not recommend sending a relative here for a short or long stay.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I came to Northpoint over a year ago. The staff is great, and there are many standouts that deserve recognition for the care they give. Mercedes, one of my nurses, as well as Angel and Crystal who are both techs, do a lot for me everyday. The dialysis staff is also incredibly caring and very professional. I really have no problems with anyone here. I recommend eating in the dining room, because the food is often fresher than if you eat in your room. One of the best parts are the themed menus and themed activity nights. Bingo is also very enjoyable! I've recommended this location to my friends in the past, and I will certainly continue to do so.

I've been here for about 4 years, and the staff is very good. Emelda, my nurse is especially good with me, she really treats me like I am her own family. Really everyone is good, and they work hard to make sure all of the residents are attended too. I do restoration therapy onsite, and I am amazed at the strides I make on some days. They also offer a good selection of activities as entertainment. I'd recommend this location definitely, if you are looking for a place like this. Its improved a lot over the past 4 years a lot, mostly because of Phil being the admin. He has changed everything for the better, and he deserves 5 stars without question.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I came here on September 29th and it's generally been pretty good. Stephanie and Michelle, in physical therapy have been extremely helpful in providing my care, and having access to PT onsite is a huge asset to this facility. While the food isn't my absolute favorite, they keep the rooms very clean. They offer a lot of activities, but I don't usually participate, because I prefer to play war the card game, with staff. Also, I should mention that the staff comes upon request in a timely manner.

Do NOT put anyone you love in this horrible place! They leave there patients lay in there own soiled diapers because they are understaffed. It took 1 hour 20 minutes to have my family member changed upon my request. Every time I went to visit she was laying in a soiled diaper. The over medicated her, which lead to her being taken to the hospital. They gave her drugs that were not needed which caused her to be unstable. This is just a job to these people that work here, there is NO compassion nor caring. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS PLACE!!!!

Do not go to this facility if you have a choice. My mom was there for 6 days. The nurses and help were very very inattentive to my moms needs. The rooms were filthy and the whole time she was there the bathroom was never cleaned once. The social worker was rude and nasty to both me and my mom. She never say a doctor once. After we left and had to set up home care everything was delayed because the social worker basically could not handle her job. The only positive is that Anne, her physical therapist was amazing. She inspired my mom to push so I can get her home. But that was only an hour a day. Don't go there !!!!

You would not want to even put your dog in this facility ! Your love one will lay in shit all day ! They don't clean the rooms, don't help the patients and everytime you contact walter who is head of this place , everyone cleans up and acts like everythings ok here at the facility... the food that is fed to these patients looks like meals from a frozen banquet meal. I will just let you know you will be contacting the health department once your love one is long term at this future care on north point.... Spider webs in the rooms... they don't sweep the floors.... It's terrible , look up the reviews for this facility. This place is a joke....

Accommodating and ProActive Staff!

My mom has been at FutureCare Northpoint for six weeks. The staff is attentive to her concerns: when she expressed her wish to "go home" (which she is unable to do due to physical constraints), the staff called the family in for a meeting with Mom to discuss the situation and really made her part of the process of understanding her physical state without being pushy. Physical Therapy is outstanding. Once a patient goes off physical therapy they have 2 staff members who come around and just walk my mom regularly to keep what mobility she has. The facility is very clean and my mom is being well taken care of. Compared to other facilities (mom has been to 2 others), the staff is more on the ball and the whole atmosphere is just more relaxing than other places. Her many medications are well managed. I would recommend this nursing home!

Is there a place to put negative stars in the rating? Avoid doesn't say it!

I would not leave my dog at this place! My mother was there for just over 72 hours. She received very little care, and fell while she was in their care and was left lying on the floor. The staff physician makes no attempt to see new patients. Nurses feel empowered to be rude, apathetic and indifferent because they are not held accountable. Staff is pleasant to patients while family members are there, but many put on a different face when you leave. Nurses - (and I am using the term figuratively) are antagonistic and confrontational - particularly if you question them. Be smarter than we were. Find somewhere else!
