Did NOT provide adequate care for my father and rehab was next to nothing. It was really depressing to see how people there live and there were multiple people calling out for help that got ignored.

My mother is in Metairie Health Care Center. Overall, I'm very pleased. I think the nurses are very attentive. She was in a different nursing home before coming to Metairie Health Care, and it was day and night, the assistance and the attention, the nurses that are available, and even sitting in the room with her, if she needed that. Where in other places, she was left alone. I'm always notified if anything's wrong or anything's needed. I just like their open communication. They do daily exercises, and they do memory and speech therapy with her. Every day there's bingo, and there's Elvis impersonator's singing. There's always a lot going on every time I'm there. There are lots of activities for the elderly.

Horrible facility and would never put another loved one here again. Lack of care caused bed soars on family member who kept having to be admitted into the hospital for fevers due to infections. He never fully recovered because of the neglect setting him back in recovery. The staff are rude and unhelpful. They definitely treat you different if you have any payment issues also. That's when the problems really started, after a bill was delinquent in payment. It's truly sad when human compassion is overshadowed by GREED.

My mother was in this nursing home and I think she had excellent care. The food could have been better but everything else was great. I highly recommend it.

I believe there are good and bad workers in every workplace. In this facility, the bad far outweigh the very few good. I would not put my loved one in this facility. My mom received poor care, even with our family visiting very frequently. I can’t imagine the care received by those who have no visitors. Poor attitudes, lazyiness, having to wait hours to receive help , an aide took her call light away from her so they wouldn’t be bothered. I definitely do not recommend this place.

My grandmother is at Metairie for rehab and she will be staying long term! She loves the activities and the staff. The young ladies that care for her are nice and make her feel special.

The staff at this facility are some of the laziest, rude individuals I have EVER come across in any health care setting. While visiting with a resident I had aids refuse to clean a paitent, refuse to cloth, refuse to change dirty bedding and even refuse to give a resident a bed pan so they could relieve themselves. I had talked to other family members and I consistently heard stories of bed soars and rashes due to soiled diapers and improper cleaning resulting in uti and skin issues. We have had issues with staff taking food and other personal items out of the room for themselves. I had tried speaking with supervisors and they never showed up. I wouldn' leave anyone in the care of this facility.

I took a tour of this facility and was impressed by the upkeep of the building ONLY. There wasiv a n or some staff member sleeping at the nurses station and another nurse was eating a bag of chips and cookies. A resident in a wheelchair was crying and asking for medication in the hall way and the nurse just walked pass her.

Metairie Health Care Center is a typical nursing home, but the staff is great. The residents get fed daily and it's adequate. It's clean and they seem to take pretty good care of my brother-in-law. The location is good and the grounds are nice. It has some outside areas where people can go and take residents out in the yard. It's not a bad place, but it's $5,600 a month.

I visited Metairie Health Care Center for my friend. For rehab, they had very little equipment, and it was in a very small physical therapy room. It was really more of a typical nursing home. The staff was very friendly and very nice. They seemed very tolerant with patients' requests. They didn't look hurried or rushed or stressed. The facility was older and dated; however, there was a varied range of patients. It was not like just a memory care or rehab; it was a little bit of everything there.

Metairie Healthcare is a better facility. The manager is by far the most efficient and nicest person. Even the administrator said that she ran the facility differently than the other one. The place is cleaner. The staff is friendlier; they call you and are willing to discuss things with people. They had group meetings, movies, and gatherings. The room was nice and clean.

Metairie Healthcare is clean and organized. The admissions director's grandmother is there, and several other workers and their family members are there. Nothing's perfect, but the staff seems to be all over the wound care and skin care of the residents.
