I am/was a resident of this facility

Having lived in the Vincent for 16 months I have seen a constant series of problems with the dining services. When I moved in dining was by going thru a tray line. Then it was switched to table service with attempts to track how many meals a resident ate over a billing period - and dining has now returned to a serving line. Food quality has gone up and down and food from the serving line is often luke warm or room temp. Best comparison is to a school cafeteria. In summary, The Vincent does not provide an experience equal to what they charge.

I visited this facility

I liked The Vincent because it's like a retirement community. They have a movie theater and a heated swimming pool. They've got all those things. You don't have to rely on arts and crafts and bingo. At The Vincent, they have it set up to where it's more focused on being positive as you get older. Like once you get to be 55 and you want to live in a little cottage or one of their apartments, that's the place. It's not like a nursing home feeling at all. The average age of seniors there is 60. That's closer to my age, 57. The staff was very pleasant, very knowledgeable, very nice, very concerned, and very helpful about what you need. The follow-up was just not very good.

My parents will be moving to The Vincent. We chose this place because they have a lot to offer for my parents. They will have a lot of activities for them to do. It's very nice, clean, and well-kept. The people were great. They were very nice and very helpful.

I visited this facility

The apartment I saw at The Vincent was quite clean and kept up. The staff member we talked to was quite informative, gracious, and quite helpful. The rooms were just a little bit too far from the elevators.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The Vincent…beautiful, new construction well appointed facility. The staff however is young, inexperienced and completely unresponsive to concerns or problems raised by residents. The housekeeping staff does a minimal, half-way job of cleaning. The wait to order meals is generally in the 15-20 minute range. And it can take up to an hour to be served said meal. More often than not brought incomplete or not at all as ordered. Anything regarding services is woefully lacking. And there seems to be no concern by management to make things better.

I visited this facility

We will be moving to The Vincent Senior Living. It's building communities. Everything's not finished yet, so I was able to get in on the very beginning of it. I'm really impressed with the memory care unit, it's a smaller unit than where my husband is now, and I think he's going to thrive more in the smaller unit than in the large one where he is now. The rooms are excellent, they're very spacious, very airy, and bright. The staff and everyone are very accommodating and very friendly. The food is excellent, it's very tasty, very appealing, and it was presented well. The waitress made a very good presentation of the meal, the chef did a great job of preparing it, and I really thoroughly enjoyed the meal. They've got the calendar of events and there's a lot of activity going on there. They have shopping trips, tours of different areas that are available in and around Lafayette, so it is a place where you can make use of the facilities. You can either stay in your room or use the activities that are provided.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I went to the independent cottages of The Vincent Senior Living to visit a friend of mine. The facility is not just in one building, so it's not an institutional type of setting; it's like you're going to a townhouse. I think you have to buy your cottage and just move into a different level of care as you need. It's like a condo, where you have two units attached together and there's grass in between, and then there are two more units next to it. So it's not connected, but they provide services, and they will eventually have more, since they've only been open for about a year and are still building some of the cottages. However, I don't think their amenities, like the meeting rooms, the cafeteria, the dining hall, or the rooms that they use for entertainment are quite finished yet. The location was fine. It had gated access, so it felt safe, and it was very attractive and well put together.
