We didn't choose The Claiborne at Shoe Creek because it was at least $1000 more a month than the other community we looked at. The rooms had different floor plans with different prices. The place was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. They keep the residents all on the same apartment. They have a memory care area, but where I toured, they don't change the rooms when they up the level. So, if my mother starts off at assisted living and as she gets into memory care, she stays in the same apartment and they'll just do more rounds. I like the layout of the place.

I visited this facility
The Claiborne at Shoe Creek was great. The apartments were just the right size, and very convenient for my living style, very spacious, and very clean. The staff was very nice. They had an exercise room, crafts, and a walking area, and we could have pets. I talked to some people there, and they said the food was great. The decorations on the wall were beautiful, and the courtyard was very beautiful.

We will offer outings and customize our life enrichment program based on the resident's request.

We will offer comfort food, and our Chef is Savory Creole Certified. He has excellent presentation skills and many years of menu creation under his belt. He is an expert in contemporary urban Cajun Creole and has extensive experience in special diets.

Our front doors will lock in the evenings, and we will have staff in the building 24/7 including a nurse.

We have an open door policy when it comes to communicating with directors regarding resident care. We will communicate changes and have regular care plan meetings and by request by families. We will establish monthly family meetings and newsletters.

There is ongoing dementia care training and monthly all staff meetings including a training component. New employees are trained for 12 hours in dementia care prior to their first shift and ongoing throughout employment.

We have a specialized Memory Care area for residents that need security from wandering and additional oversight from staff.
