What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre trains every staff member to be prepared to work with residents who have dementia diagnoses. Beginning with orientation, our team is provided training on effective approaches, understanding behaviors, and how to communicate with dementia residents. Our state guidelines require that we provide an ongoing program of dementia care skills training for all staff, both in our Memory Care and in our Personal Care. Our ongoing continuing education program includes extensive training for providing the best services for our Memory Care residents. We utilize resources and training techniques that are recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and other organizations dedicated to providing care and services for those with dementia diagnoses.
Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at Provision Living at Beaumont Centre. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre has a diverse and dynamic resident population. Residents come from all walks of life from teachers to ministers and nurses, professors to housewives and military spouses. These diverse backgrounds give our community a rich and robust group of people who quickly become friends and find common ground. Residents range in age from 46 to 98 with an average resident age of 84. Favorite activities include shopping, outings to surrounding parks and attractions. Our residents enjoy gathering for musical guests who frequently come in to preform for our residents in our Woodford Reserve room.
What programs or activities does Provision Living at Beaumont Centre offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We have a well-rounded social and activities program that includes outings to areas for scenic drives through horse country and rolling farmland, lunch outings, going to movies and shopping. Our residents also enjoy cooking demonstrations and baking together as well as informational presentations, pet visits, spiritual and cultural programs that enhance daily lives.

Conveniently located in the heart of Beaumont Center in Lexington. Provision living has easy access to New Circle Road, Harrods Hill Park and Man O’War Blvd. Our residents and their families enjoy local neighborhood amenities that include a variety of outstanding dining options, shopping and walking paths. It’s also a special treat to be within walking distance to the Moondance Amphitheater.

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre provides complimentary transportation via our wheelchair lift bus to and from medical appointments with reservations, two days per week. We also use our van to take our residents on outings to local attractions, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment venues
What makes the chef or dining program at Provision Living at Beaumont Centre exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
Our Executive Chef has over 18 years of food and culinary expertise in fine dining and restaurants. He brings creativity and flavor to our menus and adds special touches and dishes that may be new to our resident’s palates. Our restaurant style meal service is delivered in our beautiful dining room that is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 pm. We offer a featured meal each day for the noon and evening meals, as well as an extensive ala carte menu. Ala carte selections are prepared to order at each meal. Breakfast is always cooked to order and is available upon request at all three meals!

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is designed to the latest in fire safety standards and life safety codes with a fully integrated alarm system that includes smoke detectors in all resident apartments and throughout the community and a remote connection to a central dispatching system. Our community is a fully-sprinklered ensuring even greater safety for residents. Residents bedrooms and bathrooms have a call system that is monitored in a central location and alerts staff when a resident needs assistance. All entry and exit doors are alarmed and provide a greater measure of security. Our front entrance is locked 24/7 and requires staff assistance to enter the community. Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is also monitored 24/7 via security video cameras to ensure the safest possible setting for each of our residents.

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre begins building a great communication and information exchange with residents and their families beginning with each resident’s pre-admission process. Our team spends time learning about each resident’s individual needs and preferences to ensure a person-centered, individualized plan using resident and family input. This plan is reviewed on regular basis and as resident’s needs or preferences change and update to reflect changes. We encourage our families to ask questions, visit with our leadership team and staff whenever possible to ensure we are sharing information effectively. Family members are invited to our Family Forum meeting where they can communicate with the community leaders and share their experiences with other family members. Our full-time activities director shares photos with families of our residents engaged in our social and recreational activities programs through our Provision Living at Beaumont Centre Facebook page!
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Provision Living at Beaumont Centre during daytime and nighttime hours?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre ensures that our caregiver-to-resident ratio meets or exceeds required State of Kentucky requirements. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that each resident receives the care and supportive services they need to maximize their independence while living in our community.
If Provision Living at Beaumont Centre accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is a pet-friendly community and we understand that our residents’ pets are family. Dogs and cats are welcome; however, must remain inside the resident’s personal apartment. Unfortunately, not everyone enjoys having pets in their lives and we must respect their rights as well as those of our pet owners. All pets must be leashed when outside the resident’s apartment, in common area, or outside on the grounds. We request that each resident and/or a family member ensure the care of the pet. Pets are not allowed in the dining rooms at any time.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is committed to ensuring that our caregivers are provided with ongoing education and training. Upon becoming a member of our team, each staff member is provided with an extensive orientation process that includes both State required training and additional training required by our community. Both new hire training and our ongoing continuing education programs include topics related to Dementia, Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Resident Safety, Confidentiality and Safeguarding of resident information, Safe Medication Administration Techniques, and Customer Service. Training is provided for staff through in-person in-services and on-line continuing education.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre provides staff for the Memory Care Neighborhood 24-hours a day. The neighborhood staffing depends on the number of residents who make their home there. Our regulations dictate the number staff required for a memory care specialty neighborhood. Provision Living at Beaumont Centre ensures that we meet or exceed all required staffing for our Memory Care Neighborhood.
What safety features or security measures does Provision Living at Beaumont Centre provide to protect residents who wander?
Resident safety and security are a priority for the Provision Living at Beaumont Centre team. Safety measures include Sign-in and Sign-out system by Accushield at the front entry. All entry and exit doors are alarmed and those alarms are linked to staff pagers. Video security cameras are placed throughout the community and monitored for activity. The front entry doors are locked from 24/7 to provide an additional measure of safety and security. All other doors always remain locked from the outside and require a key code or staff assistance to gain entrance. Residents with a known history of wandering are referred to the care of Monarch Square our Memory Care Neighborhood.
What programs or activities does Provision Living at Beaumont Centre offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre’s Monarch Square Memory Care Neighborhood is designed to engage residents and encourage interaction between residents and caregivers. The neighborhood is intentionally designed to provide “activity” stations that appeal to residents who are may wander or have repetitive behaviors. The neighborhood offers an activities table with puzzles, memory games, adult coloring and painting supplies that residents have access to around the clock. The space is open and conducive to those who enjoy walking and offers activities stations for sorting and folding, sensory stimulation, organizing and tactile stimulation. Reminiscing activities often feature a topic and encourage residents to share their experiences from a past time in their lives to stimulate long-term memory.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
In addition to our trained caregivers, our director of nursing and wellness manages the assessment of each resident using monthly reviews, regularly scheduled individual service plan updates and ongoing communication with staff and families. Provision Living at Beaumont Centre’s team establishes a baseline cognitive level for each Memory Care Neighborhood resident during the admission assessment process. Residents are formally re-assessed and their individual plans are established upon admission and updated every three months or when changes are observed by staff that require a new plan to ensure resident needs are being addressed.
What techniques does Provision Living at Beaumont Centre use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
Provision Living at Beaumont Centre provides each Monarch Square Resident with choices and options for meals. Working with families, we identify “likes” and “dislikes” related to food choices and ensure each resident receives nutritious, well-balanced meals that appeal to the resident’s tastes. Caregivers take orders for each meal and residents join each other in a family-style setting in the dining area of the neighborhood to share the meal. To assist our dementia residents in making their meal choices, our caregivers often use our picture menus to help them decide what they want to eat. Caregivers often share the meal with residents providing a modeling opportunity that encourages residents to eat. As resident’s progress through the varying stages of dementia, caregivers may request certain types of foods, for example, finger foods or sweet tasting items that appeal to the resident.

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is in a mixed use residential and commercial area in the beautiful south side of Lexington. Lexington is home to the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University and offers many opportunities for our residents to interact with college students and benefits from the cultural and social activities afforded by a college campus. Our location offers nearby, dental and doctor offices, YMCA, hotels, restaurants, shopping and a walking trail.

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre is a 104-apartment senior living community intentionally designed to meet the unique needs of older adults. With both assisted living and memory care services, our residents have the choice of purposefully designed studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom private apartments, which include a full bathroom, kitchenette, emergency call response, fire safety system, and individualized heating and cooling. Our community also features a beautiful dining room, ground level courtyard, full-service salon, computer room, fitness center, on-site rehabilitation center, and much more.
In addition to our purposefully-designed private apartments, Provision Living’s amenities include restaurant-style dining with three delicious meals daily; weekly apartment housekeeping; weekly linen and laundry service; trained staff on-site 24 hours each day; assistance with daily life tasks such as dressing, bathing, and mobility; medication management and administration; and social events and activities for individuals and groups.
Our team of care partners focuses on delivering great service and care to our residents.
