I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

MY DAD HAS BEEN HERE FOR A LITTLE OVER A WEEK FOR PT AFTER A HEART PROCEDURE AND BEING IN A BED AT THE HOSPITAL FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. CALL FOR ASSISTANCE TAKES AN HOUR. ROUNDING NOTES AR NOT CORRECT. ONE NURSE LEFT MY DAD THERE NAKED WITHOUT BED SHEETS AND WENT HOME FOR THE DAY. BLOOD WAS TAKEN AND THEN LEFT ON THE TABLE ALL DAY TO THEN HAVE TO BE RETAKEN BECAUSE IT WASNT TESTABLE. UNDERSTAFFED, UNDERFUNDED, MOST STAFF ISNT EITHER SMART OR CARING ENOUGH TO BE HERE. ZERO STARS. READY TO GET HIM HOME AND NEVER GO BACK. MY DAD HAS BEEN VERY SAD IN THIS PLACE VS THE HOSPITAL.

Very nice stay but I noted clean facility Employees were nice Physical Therapist were awesome but only concern is that they need more help to attend to more residents at a time .Food service was ok Snacks were very satisfactory.Overall a good stay considering the circumstances. Also a small environment and close to Olathe Kansas .

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a patient there for a week. This place was terrible. Getting meds and bathroom trips took 30-45 minutes (I had to have help walking). The nurses and assistants didn't read my chart before coming into the room, .didn't know what was going on with me. The staff was extremely disorganized. The head Social Worker was a disgrace to the profession. She was rude, belligerent, didn't do an adequate job of informing me about anything, was to order equipment to take home and didn't. She didn't seem to understand insurance at all.

My wife stayed her a week. I will never take her again for rehab. The doctor only makes rounds once a week. My wife pressed the call button for help going to bathroom and we waited 30 mins. I finally had to try and get het to the bathroom. I went to the nursing supervisor and she said it was risky for me to move her. She said my wife should soil herself and not get out of bed without their staff doing it. Most of the time, when my wife pressed the call button for pain meds, she waited over 30 mins. One time, it was 50 mins. If I complained, often the response was "we're not a hospital, so we take longer". There were some helpful assistants. Maybe, to be fair, the nurse to patient is way to high.

I would not even take my animals to this place and know they would be taken care of. The staff is not caring, nice or helpful. They have in my mom's notes possible renal failure but never sent her to the hospital that is probably 1/2 mile away. When she would push her call button it would take hours for them to answer, she would call me in the middle of the night because no one would come to her room. She could not get out of bed and they knew that and didn't care. Their land line phone system was out for over 2 weeks and would not plug her cell phone in to charge. We had so many problems that it's too many to list. I would never ever go or take anyone to this place

Hoeger House provided my Dad with wonderful care. All of his therapists were excellent and enthusiastic in working with him. He gained a lot of strength and 10 greatly needed lbs while there. The nurses were responsive, helpful and caring. The people in the kitchen were so nice too when we needed to store a refrigerated beverage for him. Social services staff was great too in trying to appeal & then arranging for home health care after departure. The entire team was kind to my Dad & our family during a difficult time. Thanks again to all at Hoeger House!

My father is currently staying in Hoeger House. They have a lack of communication with family and a lack of interaction with residents. We haven't had a great experience. The staff is not extremely accommodating or forthcoming. They do not readily share information. The place smells like a nursing home. The rooms are adequately sized. It is close to the highway and close to our house. It's near Olathe Hospital. They provide transportation, PT, OT, and speech rehab. The outdoor area is nice.

Hoeger House is designed to be an acute rehabilitation place, and they do an excellent job. It’s an extremely nice place with all private rooms. It’s three hours of rehab every day, they’re designed to do one thing, and they do it very well. They don’t really have games and activities, because it’s only a 35-bed facility and you get half of the people out doing therapy all the time.

This is an awful place. my loved one is 12 days out from major surgery and was sent here. She has developed an infection in her surgical sites. the nursing staff is not attentive to the patient needs nor do they check incisions. communication is horrible. They do not bathe often(and when you have incisions, they need cleaned daily) they do not do this. The nursing staff does not do a good job passing patient report to the oncoming nurse , this place is scary!

This facility is an awful place. They do not provide quality care for your loved one. They do not show up for 20-40 min when having to go to the bathroom. Nursing staff is rude and awful. The food is terrible.

This is a scary place. Rarely did anyone respond when the call button was pushed. They don't even change bandages . Consistently. The staff are harsh and uncaring. The pillows are cleaned with Betadyne and look horrible. Did anyone there ever hear of zippered pillow covers that can be laundered? The physical therapy was so strenuous I had to get injections in my knee when I left there. The therapy is not at all individualized and they don't care if you are in pain or have fever. I wouldn't take my dog there. Beware!

GRossly understaffed. So disorganized to the point patients miss meals. Patients only get bathed once in 4 days. Staff slow to answer button calls.
