I'm here at Good Samaritan Society - Olathe for rehab. When I came here, I couldn't speak as well as I can now. When I came here, I was in a wheelchair, but I'll be leaving with a cane and a walker. They also offered other services. If I had more of a disability than I do now, they would be able to help me with that, too. The staff here are very friendly. My room is small. It's a shared room. They serve good food. The facility is excellent. They have activities and programs, but I haven't availed myself of them.

My sister moved into Good Samaritan Society - Olathe. It seemed like the best because they have activities for them. The staff is kind and helpful. It's clean, and I believe they take very good care of the patients. She enjoys doing the crafts there.

My mom has moved into Good Samaritan Society - Olathe. We chose them for my mother for several reasons. One was the quality of care there was highly reviewed and rated by others who've been there. They're a faith-based institution that provides compassionate care. That's important. It's a nice facility, it's cheerful, and one that feels welcoming. The staff is very welcoming. I liked best the quality of care, and the facility is very nice and welcoming. They have rehabilitation therapy rooms, gym, library, and dining. It's a nice facility. It's just a little older, maybe, but it's well-maintained. It's clean. It's a close to a hospital. It's not too far from me and my brothers. So, it's convenient to a lot of services, particularly medical services.

Good Samaritan Society - Olathe had an opening by the time we were looking for my mom. It was the closest place to the hospital, so we've decided to move her there. Right now, they're low on staff. We just found out about that yesterday that they are on lockdown because of COVID. The staff is very helpful, but there's only one registered nurse. They are depending a lot on students who were there for a volunteer work. They serve a lot of sandwiches and soup, but she really doesn't like it (and they're usually not hot). She likes her breakfast though. She usually gets some scrambled eggs or toast. However, she told me that one Saturday that they never serve lunch when they're supposed to. They're trying to keep the facility clean, but I think there's not enough people there to clean it every day. She has a small room with a TV and carpeted floors, which is a good thing. Right now, she's having to pay the full price, which is about $9,000 a month, but she's not getting the value of it. Eventually, she will be going onto Medicaid for that.

My mother had a devastating stroke about a year ago. She resides now at the Good Samaritan skilled nursing facility and we're very pleased. We picked Good Sam for a number of reasons including: on site chapel, every resident has a large window, you don't "walk through" another resident's room to get to your family member's room. We also felt strongly that it had that "homey" feel. We've gotten to know the staff over the past year and they are amazing. They are caring, compassionate, and proactive about finding ways to improve my mother's quality of life as she continues to battle the effects of the stroke. My mother needs constant help, and she continues to speak highly of the staff. They show their genuine concern for her and make her feel safe, which is very important to us. The way they have handled the COVID pandemic has been commendable. Communication has been great and they are doing all the right things to keep their residents as safe and healthy as possible. At first, I thought their activities were lame, but now I've come to realize that they are actually perfect for the physical and mental abilities of the residents. There are always going to be little things that aren't exactly what you would want, but overall, I'm very thankful that she is being taken care of there.

My wife is in skilled care at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe. Shes actually doing better than I expected. Shes getting better and stronger there now. The staff is highly competent and very caring. Theyve showed me nothing but the highest level of kindness and quality. The food is institutional but its alright, there just seems to be a lot of cold sandwiches and things like that. They once had some liver and onions which was a complete turnoff for my wife.
