I visited this facility

We had an in-person tour of The Welstone at Mission Crossing. It was a very nice visit. Everything was top-notch. They had a physical trainer on staff. They had a great dining room, and the meal was delicious. The only negative was that they did not have a 24-hour concierge on the premises. It was a really warm and friendly place. They had a lot of very satisfied and happy-looking people. The staff members were very friendly, open with information, and eager to please. They had a very open and well-appointed dining room. The facility seemed to be in very good shape.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has moved into The Welstone at Mission Crossing. It's an awesome place. It's very friendly and there are lots of things to do. People look after you. It has dining facilities and an exercise place that she needs. We were just happy with everyone. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. They have bingo, card games, a movie theater, and puzzles. They have all kinds of activities. They have a podiatrist that comes once a month. They have a transport van and they're centrally located. The post office is across the street, the grocery store is a block away, and Target is right next door. They're in a good location also.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm at The Welstone at Mission Crossing. I already love it. It's just wonderful. Everyone is so friendly. There's nobody mad. Everybody is smiling. The staff is very helpful. Whenever they see you kind of looking around, they come and ask if they can help you. My one-bedroom apartment is nice and clean. Right now it is a mess because I've got a lot more things than I have room for. It is a very, very nice place. They have arts, Bible study, and exercises. They have so much that is offered here that you can do. They have a little party every once in a while. They have movies with nice soft chairs to sit in. It's just an ideal place. The food is really good. The place where I was before, I can't remember ever having shrimp for lunch. It's just night and day from the facility where I came from.

My sister is at The Welstone at Mission Crossing. It's a senior living and we arranged for somebody to come in three days a week. Our experience has been very good. Her room is very nice. It has a small kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a utility area. The food was very good. The menu seemed very nice. In the entrance area, there's a large common area where they can sit and visit with each other, and then adjacent to that is the dining area. There's an exercise room that she can have access to. They have various socials one day a week where they have a wine tasting and then another day they'll have ice cream. I was very pleased with the facility. It was a couple of years ago when I ate there with my sister, and they had a nice selection and very good quality food.

The Wellstone at Mission Crossing was nice. It's a lot smaller, but it was very nice and the people were nice too. The location is right in the heart of the city and that's nice for some people. At one time I thought it would be ideal for me, but it wasn't because I needed a little bit more than they had. It's independent living so they do not have 24/7 assistance if you need help and that was one of the drawbacks. They do not have anybody that you could call if you have a problem. Only from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m and that's the one thing they have. The apartment that we saw was a lot smaller than I expected. The person who assisted us during the tour was very nice. She was a nice young lady, very helpful, and she gave us lots of information. The dining area was under construction, so you couldn't tell but it looked like it was a small place. The residents appeared happy though and they look like a nice place. For the amenities, they have a room for fitness and they had several things for activities but they had nothing on the day that I was there a few weeks ago. They do have scheduled events and activities and things that they do like Bible study. They have special things too like pictures of veterans that are there.

The staff at The Welstone at Mission was very nice and accommodated me very well. I was very pleased with the staff and the people that I met. The apartments were nice. It's a senior living retirement center, so it's not a place where you're going to get nursing care or assisted living. It's basically independent living, but they have a dining room and they provide meals and other social activities. It was very nice in terms of what it's intended for. The residents seemed fine in the sense that they seemed to be able to move around and converse. There weren't people in wheelchairs or using walkers, which you would see in assisted living or nursing care levels. It was generally a very nice, congenial atmosphere. They seemed to be a younger group of people living there who were basically in pretty good health. However, they didn't seem to have the facilities that some of the other places have.

The Welstone is very nice, it's sparkling new, and the people are friendly. They have a wellness shop, beauty shop, and a post office. They have 1, 1 1/2, and 2-bedroom options. They have activities every day. The staff was very helpful, we ate lunch there, and the food was great. They have church services every Sunday.

We had a meal at The Welstone at Mission Crossing. The food wasn’t outstanding, but it was good. I decided not to go there because of its location. The area that it is in is very busy and seemed to be far away. It would have been very convenient because there was a strip mall surrounding it, but you would have to be terribly aware of traffic patterns and very careful trying to cross the street. It’s one of the newer places here in Kansas City, and it’s probably going to fill up fairly quickly. I thought it was priced a little bit out of my range, and I was concerned about how the price would be next year.

We visited The Welstone at Mission Crossing. I liked it a lot. Mom liked it mainly because it was close to all of her family. The staff members were very nice and very professional. Since the place was new, the rooms were very fresh and clean. I think Mom really liked that, too. The biggest factor for us was definitely the location and the cleanliness. It was very nice.

The Welstone is really good. It's a lot better than the other places. It's brand new and really nice. My mother has a 1-bedroom apartment, with its own washer and dryer. She's the first person to live in it. The staff was all very professional and the people were really nice. She even got to talk to the chef.

Welstone was welcoming and clean, and wasn't cluttered or noisy. I liked the facility. The rooms were normal and of adequate size. I looked at the smaller units because the price mattered to me.
