My wife was at Wellbrooke of Westfield for a while during the rehab part. The best thing about it was that it was one of the cleanest establishments I've ever seen. It was very well laid out. They had excellent equipment for rehab. The thing I liked least about it was the people themselves. I don't know if the aides were shorthanded or just improperly trained. Most of the staff was good, but the aides had no idea what they were doing. The way they treated some of the residents was just intolerable. The facility looked brand new. Everything was in its place. They had a lot of amenities for guests to come in to see the residents.

No one was at Wellbrooke of Westfield to take my appointment. There was a very nice person who stepped in and gave me a tour even though she didn't know I was coming, but that was a little off-putting to have an appointment with no one there to meet you. From the curb side, the facility itself was absolutely breathtaking; however, it was probably the most institutionalized of all the places even though it was very well-decorated and well-staffed. It was not as homey as the others. There were two dining areas on the first floor and on the second floor. The first floor was for skilled nursing, so it was a little overwhelming coming in and seeing the most intense patients being cared for, and the smell was overwhelming. I was really disappointed upon arrival.
