Assisted Living Reviews for Tanglewood Trace

I visited this facility

Tanglewood Trace has nice people, but it was just too big, so it's not the right fit for my parents, because you'd have to walk a long way to get to the dining room, and they're both not very ambulatory. It's all on one level, but it's so far away, and the rooms were too far away. The room I saw there was fine, but not as good in quality as where my parents are. The staff who gave me the tour was somewhat knowledgeable; he seemed a little green. The gentleman didn't even have a key to the apartment that he wanted to show us, and we walked all the way there, so he just needs to be a little more organized. As far as the layout and everything, they can't change that. So I guess, if people are willing to walk that far, then it's a good place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is currently a resident of Tanglewood Trace. So far, it's been great here. I've noticed that the front-desk staff know most of the patients by their first names. They call most of the people who are living here by their first names. I have heard that the food is really good here. He's even been really happy with the nursing staff who come in and give him his meds. So, all around it's a good place. They already have his pictures up, and it looks like home. They have chairs and couches in the hallways where you can sit. If you feel like you need to get out of your apartment, you can go and sit out in the lobby. They do all kinds of fun activities. It's quite a nice place. They'll take a trip; they take a bus and go into town. They do bingo, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. They do card making, and they have a walking club. They'll have ice-cream sundaes, take a trip to Martin's, or take a trip to the Dollar Tree.

My friend moved into the assisted living of Tanglewood, but it didn't work out for her, and it had nothing to do with Tanglewood. I found the staff to be very caring and attentive. The facility was clean and had a really welcoming environment and feeling to it. I saw the activities board posted where all the residents could see it, and there were things like bingo. In the room she was in, the carpet had recently been changed, freshly painted, and the rooms were in good condition. I had a meal there, and the food was acceptable, but not home cooking. There were specials of the day, and there were always choices they could order off the menu. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. I would definitely recommend the facility.

My loved one has moved into Tanglewood Trace and it's very nice. Everything has been great and wonderful. He does a lot of walks, visits with people, and goes down for every meal. He loves the food and he's very pleased with it. He's got a really nice 1-bedroom apartment. It's spacious, has really good outdoor light, and a patio right outside for him. It's a really nice and safe environment. He's very happy. The staff is very courteous and helpful. It's been a wonderful experience for us.

My brother and I are very pleased with the quality and care that Tanglewood provides. We can breathe easily now that we know that mom is safe and happy here at Tanglewood.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My husband I moved in a few years ago. He passed away last April and I decided to move out on my own again. I found I missed Tanglewood and needed the amenities. I moved back in 3 months ago and I love it. I will not consider moving again. I missed the socialization and the staff is exceptional. I would recommend Tanglewood to anyone.

Our visit with Tanglewood Trace was wonderful; however, my mom could not afford it right now. They were very friendly and very nice. There were lots of people playing cards and other activities. It was really nice. The rooms were wonderful. I would recommend them to others.

My mom is at Tanglewood Trace right now. It compasses everything she needs. It’s clean, and the people are responsive. It’s a lower level; you don’t have to take stairs or elevators. The staff seemed to be conscientious; they work with my mom, and I usually get an answer back pretty quickly. People appear to be easy to work with, and they answer my questions.

I visited this facility

We visited Tanglewood Trace, and the rooms looked nice; we just didn’t feel comfortable with proper nursing care. We saw some people sitting around in the lounge area. The sanitation looked like it was in great shape. The rooms were not that far from the dining room.

My mom is in Tanglewood Trade, and I highly recommend them. They are very good. It is a secure facility. It is very clean and in a good location. It is close to us, and we can come there frequently. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The food is good. They have all kinds of activities, and they go on shopping trips. They always have something going on, and she is happy there.

Tanglewood Trace was very nice, very clean. It was a lot bigger than the other two facilities I have visited. I would say it had a little bit more in the way of nursing care if you needed it.

My father has decided to move into Tanglewood Trace. What we like best about the facility is its location and over-all, my father likes it very much.

I visited this facility

We visited Tanglewood Trace. It was very nice; it's probably our second choice. The amenities were pretty much the same as the others, but a little bit spread out, and there was more room inside the building. It has a very nice atmosphere, the dining area was large, very nice, and there's another area where you can have a light breakfast.

We liked the services and people at Tanglewood Trace. They had quite a few activities like Bingo, cards, a live band once a week more set to their age group, and Happy Hour. They'd serve 2 or 3 meals depending on which side you're on. They had transportation services so long as you'd schedule that beforehand. The staff is very informative, nice, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Our experience at Tanglewood Trace was wonderful. They were very gracious. I had my grandson with me, which they were really nice about. Everything was clean and peaceful. There were a lot of sitting areas, and people seemed comfortable and happy. Everybody greeted me, so it was really nice. The dining area was very pleasant looking and inviting. I liked it a lot. The apartment had almost a full kitchen area, a big living area, a nice-sized bedroom, a handicap-accessible bathroom, and closet spaces, so it was nice. It was on the first floor, so it had sliding doors to the outside. They had many amenities, activities, food, and laundry included in the price. The activity director told me that somebody wanted to start a bridge club. They had shuttle transportation to local shopping, theaters, and things like that.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband has stayed at Tanglewood Trace several times for respite stay. It’s about the only place in town that does one or two days; the other places want two weeks or more to stay. He has his own one-bedroom apartment. It’s beautiful. The staff is very, very nice. We were invited to go a Dyngus Celebration, and we went and had dinner there. It was a very nice place. The meals are included in his stay and I get complimentary meals when he stays. The meals are very good food. The rates are very good too. They have all kinds of stuff. They have the normal bingo, they have happy hour, and they have movies. A lot of the residents, they like to get out of their rooms and sit in the common areas and just talk. They play cards too and they go on trips to Wal-Mart, Dollar Store and things like that every week.

I was really pleased with my visit to Tanglewood Trace. I liked the facility. Everything was on one floor, and there was a very nice atrium. The food service and everything in general was very pleasing. I think my mom would have enjoyed it there. They had a nice calendar of events and had a party going on while I was there. They go to the grocery store, shopping stores, and the doctors' offices. They are allowing Mom to take her dog with her. It seemed to be a friendly environment.
