Cypress of College park is a wonderful place to have your loved one live. Mom has lived here for almost 2 years and loves it. The people are very caring and the atmosphere is a family one. The food is great as well as the activities. Thank you Cypress for a great experience for mom and myself as I feel mom is in a safe caring place.

We can't recommend the memory care facility at Morningside and feel compelled to share our bad experience.
My father stayed for five days this year in January at a cost of more than $12,000 -- part of which was charged with payment required on the spot as my dad was moved out of the facility. Then, as we tried to leave, staff insisted we stay in the room while a tour for a potential client was taking place.
Worse, over that five days, my dad's health declined. He lost weight and did not take some of his medications. Staff does not monitor or document how much food has been eaten or whether a resident has taken meals. Residents are not escorted to meals if they fail to show up. Also, policies in place allowed my father to say he didn't want to take his medication. Then, that was it. He didn't have to take it. We were unaware of any practices or policies in place to coax residents to eat or take medicines. In fact, documentation overall seemed sparse and incomplete.
We also were concerned with what appeared to be low staffing levels. We had trouble finding staff to talk with and had a considerable wait when we requested information. Routinely during my father's stay, the front desk was not manned during evening visiting hours. We had difficulty leaving as no one would be around to let us out. Wait times to be let out were long. One night, we had to call Morningside with our cell phone to request to leave.
Months later, we discovered a fraudulent charge to Medicare and our insurance company charging for a doctor visit at Morningside for my dad dated three months after he left. We reported this to Medicare and our insurance company. We also hired an attorney after Morningside would not entertain our request to refund even a portion of the charges. Have an attorney review the contract to be sure you are receiving the services you think you are getting and that your family's interests are protected.

My mom moved into Morningside in early June. They have bus trips and a lot of good activities, so she's happy there. They do a good job generally and work with me. The grounds are pretty good, have good views, and is well kept. She's sharing a room that's very spartan, but it's extremely adequate, and she's happy with it.

Morningside of College Park was lovely. The staff was lovely and attentive too. We weren't able to keep my mother there, but that was a matter of her needs that had rapidly graduated. However, it was a wonderful place. They don't just hide people in their rooms. They're really great about keeping everybody social, active, and redirected. My mom did a lot of group activities, very simple stretches, and listening to music. The food was fine. However, the dining experience itself was a little sluggish. They would sit people down and then start serving, so my mother would be sitting there, and then she starts to get agitated, which was a little bit troublesome. That would be my only complaint. Overall, the staff was great.

Morningside of College Park was very pleasant, but it was not as new as we'd like nor quite as modern as other places. The staff was very kind and very open with their information. We were pleased with them, but we didn't really feel that we would be happy there.

Morningside of College Park was a wonderful place, but they won't accept me until my VA problem is straightened out. They were very nice people and they had excellent food. They told me that he was a local chef and I believe it because the food had a local taste. They'd take us to all of our appointments no matter where they're located, but there's a 15-mile limit here. The person that assisted me was very professional and she was very friendly to me. She and I developed a rapport, and I'd like to talk to her again. That's really where I wanted to go. I didn't see a thing wrong with it.

Morningside of College Park was very nice. The staff sent a driver to get us. He took us to Morningside and brought us back. While we were there, we had lunch, and we went to Bible Study. The staff showed us a couple of rooms. They were nice. The place was very clean. The staff members were very friendly. The dining area was clean. Food was good.

My tour with Morningside of College Park was great. They did a great job answering my questions. It looked like a nice place. The room that they had available was more like a studio, and my mom was not ready to live in a studio.

The reason why my mom actually picked Morningside of College Park is because that she had a ground floor apartment that has sliding glass doors that allows her dog to go in and out of its own. We enjoyed meeting the staff; they were very friendly. The staff at the cafeteria and the front desk were also very friendly. They have a very friendly and open atmosphere, and she felt good about along with she enjoyed the room. The pricing was a little lower. They do have so many activities about five or seven things a day -- like they take them to church, shopping, doctor's appointments, and many more.

My grandmother has been placed in a home for a couple of months now. She is at MorningSide of College Park. My grandmother is doing much better. She has wonderful individualized care. All the staff there has been very welcoming to her and very supportive in everything that she has needed so far.

Morningside of College Park is very pretty and very attractive as you come into it. The hallway is very nice. The staff is all very good. The sales lady is very nice and diligent, but she's a little bit more pushy sales-wise. The cost is much higher, and they don't have any kind of medical unit, so it would be an additional cost besides what you're already paying to have medical care brought in. It's a prettier facility, but it's more expensive. They do some group activities, but you have the usual number of people sitting around in their wheelchairs not doing anything. The dining area has nothing attractive about it.

Thank you for your time to post this review we appreciate all comments both pro and con. MorningSide of College Park is an Independent Living Community as such we do not have a medical unit. We allow our residents to choose the Home Health Care company of their choosing to match the care needs of their loved one and by doing so control their costs. We do have a Home Health Company in the community Great Lakes as an option for those that do not have their own provider. Our costs for Independent Living apartments are very competitive for the market we research rates on a quarterly basis. Many of our residents have been at the community for many years and as such may now be using wheel chairs and walkers which is a natural progression when one ages. We encourage all of our residents to participate in our activities including those that may not be as mobile requiring wheel chairs or walkers. We appreciate your feedback !

My visit with Morningside was great. They had been very helpful. It seemed like they had something going on every day. I met their activities director who was very nice. It just seemed like they had activities all the time and were very good about encouraging everybody to participate. I had lunch there, and it was good. That's where I wanted my mom to be. It felt very friendly and like all of the residents were happy. It just felt good.

Morningside is clean, reasonably priced, and there’s plenty of staff. They seemed to be doing a good job. They call me all the time, and seem to be on top of it. My mother is living there. The rooms are nice. They have activities for them. They seem to have a good menu.

Morningside of College Park was a very nice facility. It wasn’t old, but I think they had done some renovations because it seemed really nice on the memory care side. The staff seemed very nice. This was the first place where I saw many residents engaged, so I was very impressed. The dining area was relatively small, but it seemed nice and clean. Nothing stood out to me. The area where they were doing activities needed to be a little bit bigger because there were so many residents participating.

We considered Morningside of College Park because they were upfront about taking Medicaid patients. It was an older facility, but it seemed more comfortable and less stiff than the other places in Carmel. The rooms were much larger, and they seemed to have more activities. The staff seemed to be very good. The interactions with the residents there seemed to be very friendly; they all knew each other.

Morningside of College Park was very nice, but it was not licensed. They applied for it, but I wanted to make sure that my uncle gets into a licensed facility. I only met one lady, and she was very nice. The room was nice, but I want the closet to be closer to his bed. They had bingo and puzzles. Their dining area looked more like a cafeteria.

My mother happily lived in Morningside for 3 1/2 years: 3 years on the Assisted Living side and 6 months in the Memory Care unit. My mother lived in Fort Wayne prior to Morningside and experienced a number of health issues which prompted the relocation to Indianapolis. Before my mother left Fort Wayne, I looked at 8 other Assisted Living Communities; and my mother visited two of those facilities before deciding on Morningside. She never looked back and was delighted with Morningside's food services, living arrangements and activities. I can honestly say that living at Morningside increased my mother's life by a good two years. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to move my mother from the Assisted Living Unit to the Memory Care Unit. After running my mother through two other rehab facilities following a surgery and bout with pneumonia, my mother was delighted being able to enter Morningside's Memory Care Unit with her own furnishings. Though my mother only had minor dementia, the last six months of her life were spent in the Memory Care Unit. The staff was outstanding! Mom swore the food was not as good in the Memory Care Unit; yet, I know otherwise. Like everything else in her body at that time, her taste senses were getting old too. While my mother always wanted to do for herself, in the end, the staff bathed her, changed her bandages and bedding, dressed her and got her to the bathroom. Though she fought it, she needed 100% care in the end. I can not say enough good things about her care and the staff in the Memory Care Unit. Most important, they were there in the end. If your parents are beyond being on their own, you must consider Morningside and later in life the Memory Care Unit.

Morningside has memory care and assisted living; both of them are fine. The apartments for assisted living are big, some are 2-bedrooms, but all of them are nice. Memory care has its own dining room, and the food is good. They have different directors for activities for the seniors and for the memory care.

My mother, age 98, has been a resident at Morningside in Indianapolis, for more than 1 1/2 years. All I can say is this place is truly incredible. My mother can be a handfull and the staff takes great care of her many needs and demands. Also, the food they serve to their residents is excellent, plentiful and nicely presented. We would reccomend this facility to anyone seeking care for an aged loved one.

Morningside of College Park had a buy-in. It was nice, older, small, and was all apartments, not cottages. I would prefer to have a garage because I do not want my car out on the streets at winter time. Most of the apartments didn’t have washers and dryers, and my wife and I wouldn’t be walking down the hall with our laundry. The staff was accommodating, very polite, and weren’t pushy. The dining area looked very nice, like a restaurant.

We liked Morningside. It's an independent living place with a third party that takes care of your needs for assistance. One of the questions that I asked them was for a breakdown of what some of the assistance would cost and one of the cheaper ones was the once a day medication reminder, which cost $350 a month. That is not even one of the activities of daily living like being able to dress yourself, feed yourself, or go to the bathroom and shower. If you needed real assistance, the cost would be pretty huge. I just thought medication reminder that costs $350 sounded like the assistance was going to cost a bit of money. So, I was not impressed with Morningside. It was a nice place, but in terms of my parents needing assistance, I am afraid of them running out of money. I didn't have other complaints about Morningside. The price of the assistance really was my only concern. It looked like a very nice place and would be quite satisfactory in all other regards. I would give them a 5. It was really nice.

Our Assisted Living services are priced "a la carte" so you only pay for what you need versus paying a bundled rate. Most find our pricing for services very competitive, if not less, compared to other communities in the area. A huge advantage with Morningside is we strive to keep an independent atmosphere while providing needed care. We are a hidden gem and well established in the area, having been here since 1987. I have only good things to say about Morningside. My parents moved there 2+ years ago and it's definitely become home to them. The staff has been wonderful in every area. You can tell they really care for the residents. It's the only place we could find that offers 3 meals a day (as well as full kitchens in apartments), assisted living services come to them in their apartment as needed (no moving to another building), and the level and number of activities and events provided are unsurpassed by any other facility we've seen. In fact, Glenda, the activity director trains other activity directors! She's the BEST! It may not be the most posh as far as interior design, but it's perfectly lovely, kept updated and clean. The residents are sociable as well, and new residents are welcomed with social events in place. The important thing about finding a place for your loved one is not how fancy it is, but how you feel when your there. Are folks hanging out together, or staying only in there apartments? At MorningSide, much socializing goes on at different times of day in the lobby, and all different areas of the building. Last year I and several other family members that are still very involved with their loved ones were invited to a meeting where the sole purpose was to brainstorm about what can be done better at MorningSide. Impressive.

It's cheap, they dont take care of her. I have to call and ask them if she's gotten what she's needed every day. It reeks of pee and poo. It's cheap, and the only thing the nurses care about is a paycheck. They never call me although i have asked them to and they say they will. My mom hates that they blare rap music at nighttime and she can't sleep. I'm looking for a new facility.
