My mother moved into Brookdale Fort Wayne. Everything seems to be good, everybody works together, a lot of communication, so that's good. Her apartment is nice, and roomy. Everything that she needs. The staff is pleasant. They're great. They play a lot of games, a lot of interaction. They have somebody that's in charge of games and stuff like that, and a lot of socializing and staff that helps. My mom loves the food.

Brookdale Fort Wayne was a very good facility. The tour I had in their memory care went very well. Overall it was very, very good, and very accommodating. I have nothing negative to say about them. The staff was very friendly. The decor was fine. The rooms were kind of outdated, but they were going to paint the room that my uncle would have been in, and recarpet it. I think if they had done all of that it would have been a very nice place. Their dining area looked very nice, too. It was a very warm and homey environment.

The price at Brookdale Fort Wayne has gone up quite a bit, but that is to be expected. They had different room options, which was good. I found that they had plenty of staff and they were extremely helpful right out of what we'd like to see. Their contract terms are all 30-day, nothing long-term, but they have a $2,000 deposit. That includes everything except the landline. So, that's your TV, the Internet, and things of that nature. Also, they clean the room twice a week, but there is no cooking in the room and of course, they're not furnished. The price for a studio, which is the regular room, was around 340 square feet, and that's going up to $3900 a month. The smaller studios are 235 square feet and to me, the rooms looked small, but I think that's just the way it is. Their meals and the dining room looked really good. They had the menu posted. It looked well done and the facility was nice and well-maintained. They have good parking and it's a good location. It's close to everything in town, so it's still quiet. They also have transportation services offered and the way they come up with where they go is all the residents get together and kind of decide. So, they kind of self-select where they want to go. If something comes up and they want to go somewhere, they can work with you on that. The facility is clean and well-maintained. There were about 25 residents in the main facility (assisted living). I walked around and talked to all the staff. I also got there early and I talked to residents to see what they would say about the place and that's the kind of place that I'm looking for. I asked some of the residents what they thought of the food and everybody liked it. They had a really good dining arrangement. It was clean. They could eat inside or outside. They had a little cozy room they could go to. It was laid out well. My only concern is it's more than what my aunt wanted to pay, but I think we're going to go through that process. Other than money. I would rank it high. They have rooms available right away. There's no waiting list.

My brother moved into Brookdale Fort Wayne. It is a very good place. They explained a lot to me when we first toured them and we got him in right away. They were very polite and very informative. The living atmosphere is very pleasant, and the rooms are pretty nice. They usually have 2 choices of the food they want to eat at every meal.

Brookdale Fort Wayne is much smaller than the other place I saw today. The rooms were smaller, the whole facility was smaller, but everything was nice and clean. The staff mentioned some of the activities they have. They go to dinners and stuff like that. They take their residents out of the building, so it's not like they're stuck there all the time. They showed me a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. They were very good. I saw the staff's interactions with some of the residents and so forth. They were kind to them, and they made suggestions to them, those kind of things.

Our tour at Brookdale Fort Wayne was nice. The people were very friendly and they had the same amenities as the other place we toured. It was very clean, the apartment that we saw when we were there was a 2-bedroom, and it was kinda small. They had activities like arts and crafts, board games, and a small library. They also allow pets. The staff, Patti, made sure she kept in contact with me on all the different things to get us to go visit there. She's very patient with me to get the time set up to go there.

My mother-in-law is at Brookdale Fort Wayne and the whole place is just clean and the administration is very responsive to our questions or comments about her care. They're very nice, polite, and helpful. She participated in daily exercises and crafts, and the place is just nice.

I really love the activities offered by Brookdale Fort Wayne and how they welcomed my mother. She didn't have nearly as many activities where she was before -- even pre-COVID -- but here, they have a lot of activities that she just enjoys doing to keep her active. She fit in really quickly. They have the traditional bingo and exercises, but she's very artistic, so she is into arts and crafts and painting. They also have Yahtzee, card games, discussions, sing-alongs, and movies. It just varies. The activity director organizes them very well, as far as timing goes. For the men, they have afternoon poker games, so there are just a lot of things that she has the opportunity to participate in, and then if she doesn't want to, she goes back to her room. So far, she loves all the activities. She's in the assisted living but with modified memory care because she bonded really well with a neighbor right after she moved in. They said that they'll just work with her in assisted living until she needs full-time care. That flexibility was what I liked about it too. Her room is also very nice. Even though it's a single room, it's much larger than the room in the place where she came from. One part of the room is her living room and the other part is her bedroom. It's just laid out really well with the placement of the furniture. She has a lot of her memory pieces in there and is still able to get around safely in the room. The staff is very friendly, very cooperative, and very hands on. They really seemed to try getting to know and address the residents immediately. They make an effort to be personable to the residents. Also, the dining area is terrific. I've seen what they've ordered, and I think they look great, but when you're ninety-two, your taste buds change (plus she's on a salt-free diet). She likes the food, and her only complaint was that there's too much of it. However, they're very flexible in picking out the meals. They have choices, and it's varied and healthy. They have an interior courtyard and outside patios. There are just a lot of chances to be both outside and inside. The outside is what I'm looking forward to, because I've been told they have barbecues periodically, so that's something that my mom would find fun.

Brookdale Fort Wayne was a very nice facility. They had great staff, and it was very clean. They have all the amenities as well as a protected garden area that was all alarmed so when somebody goes out, they would know. It was a Sunday so there wasn't anything going on, but I did meet the activities director, and she was wonderful.

I toured Brookdale Fort Wayne and I didn't like them. You walk in the front door and they had a sitting area out in the entrance between the two front doors which was fine, and then we went to the memory care center to see it. There's a two-block walk to get there. I got about halfway there with my walker and I said, "Stop right now. Number one, if I have to come in the door and walk this every time that I see my husband, forget it. I don't even need to go see what the unit is like 'cause I'm not gonna do this." She was very nice, and she said, "Well there is a backdoor, and so when there is no virus you could pull up out back and you could call the office, and when someone's free they could come down and open the backdoor for you." Yeah, forget it. I did see the rooms and the rooms were fine, but I said I'm not going to have to walk two blocks every day when I go to see my husband, and to walk two blocks back to get to the car. They were very nice and they brought us cookies. They were very good, and my husband enjoyed them.

We're very pleased with everything at Brookdale Fort Wayne. We don't have any complaints at this point. Everything looks good. We met with some of the staff and some of the residents in memory care. We've already selected a room for dad, and we're moving things in. We're very pleased with the facilities and the staff. They treated us really well. The food is pretty good. They're in the process of redoing a number of things like the parking lot, reroofing, and putting in a new fire sprinkler system.

I had a coworker whose mother had dementia and has been with Brookdale Fort Wayne for a year. They were paying $175 a day and had to hire CNAs to come in and help because they didn't have enough staff. It's a very nice community, but they don't have the depths of medical care that my mother would need. My coworker was basically paying out of pocket $20-$25 per hour to have someone sit there with their mother several hours a day. That's on top of the $175 that Brookdale is charging. I did not choose this place. They don't have a medical person in staff nor a doctor. You'd have to take your loved one to the doctor yourself, or have the doctor come to the community. I observed the beautician in the room doubling as the activities director for three people. They were doing some crafts project. The person who walked me around was very good and did a great job doing the tour. The place is very clean and very nicely appointed. The area of memory care is very nice.

My dad moved to Brookdale Fort Wayne. It's very good and he likes it there a lot. The people are very friendly and he has a lot of help. They play bingo every day, mind exercises, movies, outings every week, there's a coloring club, walking club, and daily exercise class. The place is very nice, modern, clean, and in perfect shape. The dining area is just very nice, open, big, and clean. They serve three meals and the food is as good as you could expect. They always have a nice little area out front with beverages and snacks for the residents, and there are TVs, puzzles laid out, and a nice garden area with beautiful flowers. It has all we could ask for.

I found all of the staff from the front to the back to be very caring and attentive to the patients and the families. They worked with me in a very difficult and timely manner. From what I could tell from my twice weekly or more visits the other patients were also well cared for and as happy as they could be. My husband was in Memory Care.

We visited Brookdale Fort Wayne for my mother. They were remodeling at that time, and I didn’t really see much staff around. The lady that gave us the tour was the activities director and she was very friendly and quite enthusiastic in showing us around and telling us what it would look like when it was done. As we walked around, though, it just seemed like a very sterile environment, and the remodeling wasn’t welcoming. When we were walking through the memory care unit, they had seven residents lined up in the chair in the hallway. I don’t know if they were waiting for an activity to start or what, but I don’t want to see my mom lined up in a chair in a hallway.

You could tell Brookdale Fort Wayne was older and a little more run-down. It had that feeling more of a nursing home. The staff was nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The dining room looked like a big dining room with tables and chairs. I saw a poster with activities listed:;there were speakers or music or movies. They do the nails for the ladies; there are outings.

I visited Emeritus and found out that the people were actually nice. I couldn't say anything that was negative. It was the place I was considering for my mom. I never got to taste their food though. I didn't go further than going and viewing the facility. I would say that I liked their rooms a lot. They were spacious.

This is a very great assited living/nursing home my aunt is in the memory care unit there. The staff are very friendly and polite and do anything they can do to help you while you are visiting friends or family. My aunt loves the activities that they have to offer there and enjoys herself immensely. We have had no issues at all with miscare or anything like that all the patients are well taken care of at Emeritus. She loves the food and the menu and speaks very highly of the kitchen there. She also can just about bring whatever she wants there the rooms are huge she has an old curio cabinet in there and a hutch it is sort of beyond belief.Hopefully if i ever have to go to an assisted living community i hope that it is as plush as there.
