My mom is at Westbrook Senior Living, and it's a beautiful place. It's gorgeous. Everything about that place is topnotch. She's got a living room, a den, a kitchen, and a bedroom. The downside for Westbrook is that they are extremely expensive. And based on her services and the things that she requires, everything is a la carte. It is a higher level. She picked that place, and she started as independent, and then after a few strokes and stuff she ended up in assisted living. The only thing that I would say is the cost, it is just extremely expensive. They do a lot of activities. The unfortunate part is if they don't have enough to fill the van or whatnot, then they tend to cancel it. And when a person is looking forward to going somewhere and then they find out that it's been canceled, that part is a little unfortunate. However, the care staff is very good. They have the whole thing. They have bistros. Their dining room is phenomenal. They have beautiful courtyards. They have a theater room and an activity room. It's a wow place. It's topnotch and it's a beautiful place, but then you pay for it, and I think that's the thing.

I toured Westbrook Senior Living, but it's just not to my liking. The way it's set up, it's a nice place. It's just not appealing to me. The staff was good, and the rooms were nice. They are comparable to the other places I went to, in terms of their prices. It's just that the layout is different. It's not really that open concept, and it's more crowded. There are more residents there because they're full. It's clean and it's a new facility, I think they're just five years old.

We lived in Westbrook Senior Living for about a year and a half. The staff was very nice, but the food was awful. We had a large bedroom, a living room, and a very small kitchen area. They had bingo, entertainment, exercise, and physical therapy. The food needs improvement.

I brought my mom and dad there a little more than 2 years ago. They started in Assisted then due to medical issues, moved to memory care. While this was a very difficult decision, the entire management team especially the Director of Memory Care, Aksel could not have been more supportive. Aksel, his caregiver team and his activities director checked in with me and my family day 1 to make sure they understood what was going on with my mom and dad, what they liked, didn’t like and what they could do to make them comfortable. They are compassionate and caring and give me peace of mind when my sisters and I can’t be there. My experience both on the assisted and memory care side has been wonderful. The facility and rooms are very nice (only 2.5 years old), and from other research I did in the western suburbs was hands down the best bang for the buck. However, what makes Westbrook special is the people. I highly recommend them.

Westbrook Senior Living was very nice and brand new, but pricey. One thing that bothered me was the music on the first floor. Otherwise, it was lovely, and the rooms were lovely. The dining area was very nice. They have a library, a bistro, outdoor places to sit, and little courtyards with tables. Even though it's right off a busy road, it's kind of secluded, and it backs up on the Busey Woods, so there's recreation and walking areas very conveniently located. It's a very nice facility. The sales rep was very informative, very friendly, very nice, followed up with me, and she was very professional. They were having an exercise class in one room and they also had a lecture going on. It's a beautiful facility.

Westbrook Senior Living seemed very nice. We toured the place, but they would not let us bring our dog in. They have a limit of 25 pounds on pets and he's 75 pounds. Otherwise, we thought it was a pretty nice facility. They have a library, an activity room, and many of the rooms had balconies, which was nice. The staff was nice, knew everything, was able to answer all of our questions, and were very friendly.
