I have been staying in independent living at Senior Star at Weber Place. It's a series of condos and apartment houses, and also assisted living. Right across the street, there's a large building that houses memory care. It's surrounded by trees in a big, beautiful area. There's a Walgreens right on the corner. It's a really nice town with lots of things to do. They have a lot of activities for the residents, like card games, poker, euchre, bridge, news of the day, singing groups, Wii bowling, and sewing for the women. It's a lot of fun, and the people are really nice and friendly, and very active. We have a large bus that drives us to food shopping or just normal general shopping. They also take us to the local veterans' hospital for checkups and to church on Sunday. They also take people to art museums, science and industry building, and movies. They do a lot of stuff for everybody. We get two meals a day and the food is excellent. If any of the people here have a recipe that they think that would interest the rest of the people, we give it to the chef and the chef looks it over, talks it over with the people, and then two or three nights later we have the dinner. If we don't like the food, they have all kinds of hot and cold sandwiches and fantastic cheeseburgers. The staff is fantastic and go above and beyond. I really like it and it's a great place. The facility is pretty good. We have a small swimming pool that a lot of the women use as well as some men. The only problem that I have with it is it's when we have a fire alarm, the noise would wake up the dead. The pricing for me is high, but then I get so much extra for it.
