Charter of Orland Park

Autumn Leaves of Orland Park is doing a phenomenal job taking care of my mom. They've been very perceptive. I have no complaints because they take care of everything. They serve nutritious meals, dessert, and drinks that taste good. Everything is well organized in the living areas. They've been doing a lot of activities, like making necklaces.

I visited this facility looking for a placement for my wife as I was interested in a memory care facility. That staff was very friendly and seemed attentive to the residents. I witnessed an ad hoc trivia game a staff member ran with good participation while residents were waiting to see the podiatrist as well as an outside music group performance. I found the “neighborhood” section of rooms somewhat confusing because there were lots of turns. I also found that some common areas such as dining rooms and TV rooms were enclosed rooms with windows to the corridors. I personally found that these felt confining to other more open designs. The facility left me with questions about their pricing due to a recent price increase followed by adding discounts to adjust to the local market. There was also another review of the pricing structure going on. I was not comfortable with what an existing resident could end of paying this year.

Autumn Leaves was awesome. The layout was very appropriate for the Alzheimer's residents. It seemed like activities were also appropriate and the staff was very sensitive to their needs. The dining arrangements were considerate, including trying to control the environment as far as noise and confusion. The facility was very modern. The outside was very lovely landscaped. It was very clean and well lit. The size was nice, it wasn't too big and it wasn't too small. It was easy to find your way around. The marketing staff was very accommodating and helpful and did a lot of follow up with me. This facility is all memory care and I was looking for my brother-in-law. While I was there, there were some volunteers as well as staff members working with individuals in trying to engage them in the making of a plaque. There had been some kind of a project. I would absolutely recommend this place.

I had always promised my aunt that I would never put her in a nursing home. However, there came a time when I could no longer handle a fulltime job and being a caregiver. I did have a healthcare worker staying with my aunt while I was at work. Unfortunately, as my aunt's dementia changed, the health care worker could not handle my aunt anymore. My aunt's well being was first and foremost to me. That was why I called Autumn Leaves. Now, I can't say enough about Autumn Leaves. The staff wass compassionate, caring and loving. I felt confident that when I was not there, my aunt was being taken care of. She was treated with respect and dignity. Autumn Leaves not only took care of my aunt but they also took care of me. They were always there to talk to about my aunt's condition. They became a shoulder to cry on. My aunt passed away recently. I don't know about any health care worker who could have taken care of her better than Autumn Leaves. I know that having my aunt live at Autumn Leaves was the right thing to do.
