I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This is a great place for your loved one. When we toured the facility with Mary she was a delight. A staff member in business clothing was mopping the floor I asked who that was. Mary said thats our administrator. Wow!! Thats amazing to see. Administrators typically hide in their office not this one. The CNAs are caring and respectful to the residents. Not sure how they can do this job it's not easy. Managers care and they listen to our questions. Now having a family member here I can say the nursing team never makes us feel like a burden. Housekeeping does a wonderful job. It never smells like a typical nursing home (if you know what I mean). My family member loves the food! Don't look anywhere else. You'll regret not putting your loved one here.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

the admin and I have had a great time with my mother. even when I was at Prairie crossing getting my own rehab, I knew my mother was getting the best care. she was always happy and able to contact me or my brother at any time. My only complaint was the onslaught of yelling and profanity from a resident that was there. However, even though this was going on the admin was kind and professional. any time my mother needed someone they were there to help quickly.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Current situation is not looking good at all. I have a relative in this facility and there are huge problems. When it takes 3 hours for a response after a call button has been used for a team member to come to her room is concerning. Concerning enough we need to talk to state reps. Multiple phone calls made to the facility to check on my relative and waited hours for a call back which provided no answers. Huge lack of communication at this facility. At the point our relative has there nursing homes phone number to call from her cell phone to ask for help because the team members don't respond to the button call light at all. Advice is try to stay away from this facility. There are more problems I could go into butthis would turn into a novel instead of a review. Make sure your loved one has a cell phone to contact you with the problems they will encounter at the Oregon Illinois Nursing Home.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Oregon Living & Rehabilitation Center always smells clean and fresh when I walk in - the decor is modern and home-like. There are several areas for us to visit with mom - outside of her room. The room is much more spacious than other homes I've been in. The staff seems to enjoy their work - that's very important to me. Lots of smiles and laughter when interacting with each other and the residents. I was even there on a day when the owner was in the building - he seems to really care about the residents safety and comfort - I'm told he visits weekly to stay on top of things- I think that's a HUGE plus as well. We ate lunch with mom one day - it was delicious - tasted like home! The residents are always busy with crafts, games, singing, outings, etc. In a nutshell - it FEELS like home. I wish I was old enough to move in :)

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom is in Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center. It’s more like a nursing home with a dementia area. She went in there self-paid, so we were able to pay for her not to have a roommate; that ran out about three months ago, and they’ve continued to let her not have a roommate. I don’t think she would do well if she had one with her dementia, and they said they just haven’t found the person to fit with her and her needs right now. She’s having some issues with urinating, so I don’t think that is really appropriate with someone else in the room. I think they’re understaffed, which most nursing homes are. She’s fallen quite a bit, which I know is not their fault. When she has to go to the bathroom, she has to call and someone might not get there right away, so she’ll try to go by herself, so she’s probably fallen six times. I think they do the best they can. They’re starting her on new meds and working with me. They call and tell me when there is a problem, so they keep me pretty informed and I’m happy with them. It’s not really updated. I complain sometimes about the smell of the bathroom. I know they’re putting in a new addition to just the Alzheimer’s unit, so hopefully that would be a little newer and updated. The halls are clean, and it doesn’t smell like a nursing home when you walk in. However, her toilet is brown around the edges and there are just some little things that bother me. They bleach it, but they should put in a new toilet so it doesn’t have those stains. They are on top of things.
