I visited this facility
The Colonnade was very good, very nicely decorated, and very friendly. The people who lived there are very happy. You can eat whenever you want to, and you can order from a menu. They have lots of activities going on. They have an exercise area, and they have a physical therapist and a nurse on duty every time. It's very nice. The food was very good.

My aunt picked The Colonnade. The people are very friendly people. The facility has occupational and physical therapy on-site for her. She doesn't have to sit at the same table every time for meals; she can sit wherever she wants. She orders off of a menu. There's no set meal for the day. The nursing staff for her floor is just two doors down from where she is. The staff is very friendly. They say hello to people as they're walking down the hall. If somebody has a question, they're more than happy to stop and answer it. They've answered all of our questions when we've asked them, so I have no problems. I am very pleased with things. They have transportation to take the residents wherever they need to go.

I visited this facility
Heritage at The Colonnade is a very nice place. It was an old nursing home, and it was totally redone. They have two dining areas -- one for people who needed assistance and the other one they have a buffet-kind type of style -- and the residents can choose what they wanted. The residents that I saw seemed to be fine.

I liked the exercise room at the Colonnades. It really felt like I was going to a fitness center, and one of the classes was provided by the person in charge of the exercises. I didn’t like that you could go to the dining room whenever you wanted to; I was more interested in regular, scheduled meals. It was like going to a restaurant with waiters waiting on you.

My mom is at Heritage at the Colonnade. It is maybe five blocks from my home. The facility is beautiful. It looks like a five-star hotel. All the rooms there are private. My mom is in a private room. It is a nice room. The quality of the construction is beautiful with crown moulding and a picture window. There are just beautiful details everywhere. They have a chef who used to own a restaurant a few towns away that was known for its food, so the food is very good too. They have activities all day long for memory care. They start with morning stretch, and then they have music therapy. Yesterday afternoon, my mom was in art therapy with this small group. They have simultaneous activities divided by ability levels of the memory care residents. So there is constant activity from after breakfast until dinner. I absolutely would recommend this community. The beauty of the place when I first went in would probably be the thing that got me the most. It is just so pretty. It is a lovely atmosphere to be in. Other than that, the staff is very attentive, and they are just really great people; the nursing staff is wonderful as well.
