We chose Bella Terra Morton Grove because we had other family members there who are familiar with it, and because of the cost. It's in a price-range lower than my mother's current community. They offer full nursing services. The food is standard. She's going to have the semi-private room with two people to a room.

I had my mother at Bella Terra. It was terrible. It was far more expensive, and the treatment was really bad. They didn’t have enough staff. It’s $8000 a month for memory care, but there’s not enough staff. My mother fell in the bathroom because she had to go to the bathroom, but nobody was attending to her. And a bunch of her stuff was missing. I don’t know if it was a resident that took it or if it was the staff that took it. They finally found it, and it took them about a month to find all her stuff. It is an institution, and it is run by a big corporation that charges a huge amount of money. It’s a pretty facility, but it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t translate into the staff. I walked in, and my mom was slumped over in a wheelchair by herself. There were tons of people in there, and there was nobody to attend to them. It’s very depressing.

I have family in this care facility. When i visit them, the nurses are understaffed, those of the staff that are good people, who actually try to do their jobs are few. My family member is in regular distress due to panic attacks and anxiety, no counselling or psychiatric care is provided, no anxiety medicine is even thought of. The staff doesn't do anything to calm upset residents except occasionally call family members and let residents ask for help themselves. Some families have to come daily multiple times and feed their own family residents or they go without food. My family member is continually made to sit in his own urine bella terra doesn't even provide undergarments like depends they simply allow residents to sit all day sometimes multiple days in their own urine and excrement. The building is poorly maintained, the furniture in my family members room looks like it was picked up off the curb out of someones garbage. The tvs are ancient vcr and dvd player combination not flat panel or HD. It may not be the most expensive place but it costs more than enough monthly to actually care for the residents, using depends at least, checking and changing clothes, bedding and undergarments when needed not letting the wheelchair pad become saturated with urine to the point it runs out when lifted up. I have never been so appalled and the few good staff that work at bella terra couldn't possibly take on the work load to fix everything. This could be a great facility, but right now if you're considering placing a relative here DON'T.

What I liked about Bella Terra Morton Grove (Formerly Bethany Terrace Nursing Centre) was it was very clean, it was newer, and it was close to my mother's current house, so it is a good location for our family. They had a calendar of activities. They had exercise, religious things, and more. The staff seemed very nice and very competent.

My mother was placed at Bethany Terrace, and they did a nice job. Unfortunately, she passed away a few weeks ago. However, I was provided excellent assistance, and everything was done right. They were very caring and on top of things. I chose it because I had heard about it from a couple of other people, and it was also close to my home. They probably could use more people working there overall to attend to people, but everybody I talked to was very caring and very knowledgeable. Everybody from the administrator to the manager to the nurses accommodated me and answered my questions. I was happy with how they took care of her and the attitude that they had. I had friends that visited my mother, and they were impressed as well.

My mother-in-law was at Bethany Terrace Nursing Centre for rehabilitation for about three weeks. The social worker talked to my husband and father-in-law about what was best for him and my mother-in-law. The staff were very good. We were familiar with the rehabilitation wing because that was where she stayed. We were very impressed with them and I would recommend this facility to others.

This facility has very well-kept grounds. The staff was very helpful in getting me the information I requested. There is an off site dialysis that the staff would make certain the resident gets to if needed. The staff monitors individuals who smoke, in an outside desginated area. The food is served family style, There is a full administrative staff that provides quality services to the residents on a daily basis. There is current open availibility for admissions to the facility. The colors in the facility are very warm and inviting. I would recommend this facility a 5 out of 5 stars.

Bethany Terrace was an awful experience for my family and our friend who was admitted there. She was very close to us and we will never forget her. The place was dingy and smelled of stale urine. Residents would be heard complaining as we passed through the halls. I understand it is a nursing home and not assisted living but I felt as if the residents were dehumanized and ignored by their caregivers. Bethany Terrace seemed more like a low-income hospital than a nursing home. Our friend who was there had bed sores from not being turned. It was heart breaking. Bethany Terrace discharged her very quickly although she was not fully recovered. We took her home and Bethany Terrace provided her with an oxygen tank. We walked up our driveway where she fell, we helped her walk inside. She sat on the stairs to try and catch her breath and tried to turn on her oxygen tank. It would not open, she began to turn blue. I called 9-1-1 and my mother, a nurse, rushed into our home to perform CPR. Our friend died in front of me. It was a horrifying experience that I would wish upon no one. I wonder how things would have turned out if she wasn't discharged so abruptly.
