I found Franciscan Village for my mom. The care and the food were highly rated. She moved in last month. The staff is good. My mom loves the food. They have lots of activities. They have everything. They have a salon, a gym, a rehab area, and a craft room. It's closer to the majority of the family.

My parents have been residents for a short period of time and have already adjusted wonderfully! First I have to say that the facility is immaculate! Fresh water stations with fruit and seating areas throughout! The staff is so nice and very helpful with anything you need. Their apartment is very spacious with every accommodation you can think of! Motion sensors, grab bars, modified tub for easy access, higher outlets and more. They are most excited about the convenience of the dining room that offers a big selection on the menu. They love to participate in all the events provided where they have already made many friends. Overall my parents couldn’t be happier about their decision to transition to independent living from their single family residence of 60 years and in turn makes the entire family happy!

I recently moved my aunt to the independent living section. Everyone has been wonderful making my aunt feel welcome from the staff to the residents. Her apartment is beautiful and she has adjusted to her new home very well and feels at home there. She enjoys having dinner with the other residents and it has been so good for her to have other people to talk to. She is very happy living there at this point in her life.

My mom was in rehab at Franciscan Village. She's in the rehab building, where she shares a room with someone. It's a little more confusing. They're building now where all the elevators are a little further away; and I know my mom would have had a harder time taking one elevator here another one there. It's a little older. Things were really quiet that day during the tour (maybe it was because of the time of day that all the residents were more in their rooms). They have a lot of property too. It's very peaceful out there, and it's nice. It was a little bit more confusing trying to figure out. My mom's 84. I don't know if she'd ever find her way. I know they seem to charge a little more for those units that are closer to the elevators.

My parents are at the independent living portion of Franciscan Village. It is really nice and recently renovated. The staff has been good and my parents seem really happy. They also really like the apartments, it's brand-new, has a full kitchen where my mom can cook, and has a patio where they can get outside and get fresh air. The grounds are really pretty, it's around 40 acres so mom can take really long walks. She's an artist so she really enjoys a lot of their classes. Another thing that we liked about Franciscan is that they have independent living, assisted living, and then basically hospice care, so they won't have to move later on.

Franciscan Village was fine, but they didn’t really seem like they were all on top of trying to get a hole of somebody to get the information, so that was a little difficult. But I think they help us as much as they could. It’s very clean, very bright, and lots of activities going on. That was difficulty a good choice. My aunt said she didn’t like the food, but there were a couple of choices every day. The staff was very patient and caring.

I loved Franciscan Village, but they didn’t have any availability. I would give it a high rating. The cleanliness was fantastic. I liked the pretty layout.

Family member a one year resident. Clean physical plant.. Varied social, in-house entertainment. Minimal food served at meals. Pre-Vatican II, Catholic environment. Limited staff. Positive "face" put on by staff in visitor presence. Rough, rude verbal abuse when visitor is not observed. (I was visiting in resident 's dark room. Staff did not see me as they entered. Mean, rough, remarks made before becoming aware of my presence.) Poor communication with family for conferences. Limited staff doctor visits. Fall out of wheelchair over six months ago, leg wound not healed. RN claims she knows nothing about healing, night wound care would only know. Mother Theresa Home, Private pay resident (first floor) restricted to monitored, alarmed wheelchair at all times. My family member came into facility walking, but can't walk now. I understand the facility can collect more Medicare payments for wheelchair ridden residents. I do not know how true that is. Conversation with your loved one are sometimes monitored by staff who move in close to your group on another pretence to ease drop. Resident's rooms are monitored, too. Go outside to talk. For $130,000/year before medication or physician visits, I would recommend keeping your family member at home and go through the difficult task of finding appropriate in-house care. This institution is better than many, but not worth the cost for what you get.

We visited several facilities in the area, looking for the right place for our parents, age 94 and 98. They had lived in their home for 56 years, but it had 4 flights of stairs and was becoming more and more dangerous for them. We were impressed by the compassionate and friendly staff and the engaging and friendly residents as well as by the facility itself. While in their home, Dad had gone to daily Mass until he could no longer drive. He missed that. The chapel in Franciscan Village made it possible for him to renew that daily joy. Because a larger unit was not available when we wanted to move, the Administration at FV offered a smaller unit until the larger one would be available. Further, Franciscan Village has 3 levels of care available--independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. As it turned out, Dad had a stroke in early March and was moved to Mother Theresa skilled nursing facility. Mom was able to walk to visit him whenever she wanted. It was a blessing. And when he passed a month after his stroke, residents and staff reached out to Mom in any number of ways to help her navigate this tsunami. We're VERY grateful that we found Franciscan Village and moved Mom and Dad when we did. And we're VERY grateful that Franciscan Village is the caring, compassionate place we believed it to be.

Franciscan Village was the fifth one we went to and we liked the feel of the place. We liked the residents; they were all friendly, happy and cheerful. That was our first impression; it felt very relaxed and comfortable. We we’re impressed with that. The staff is great. In fact, they went out of their way to find an apartment for my father because they live in a tri-level and the stairs were dangerous. Even though they wanted a larger apartment, they just put them in a smaller one until a bigger one opens up, which was very nice. They bent over backwards. The facility is beautiful. It is much warmer and inviting.

My relative is a resident of this facility. I am not impressed by the environment, services, or staff. I am disappointed that my relative needs to live there.

The rooms, activities, and food at Franciscan Village seem fine. The staff seems to take a little while to become familiar with what a resident’s needs are. I was expecting them to be a lot quicker as far as knowing what my mom’s condition is and how they can help her. We just went to the facility yesterday and had a big meeting with their other department heads, and they seem to be doing a lot better now. They seem responsive to our needs and concerns.   Sometimes it seems like the staff is a little late on the night shift.  She usually needs help in the early morning hours and they are kind of on the short staff side. They have church service every day, and they have all the usual games and activities like card games and bingo. They have plenty of things to keep the residents active. The property and the location are perfect and the grounds are beautiful. The food is great. She has not had any complaints about it.

Franciscan village is very nice, and it’s got a nice exercise facility like a gym. A lot of amenities are right there in the property. It has a nice layout of the rooms and the pricing is good. The rooms are roomy enough. The staff is very good, friendly, informative, and helpful. The dining facility is nice and they offer a good variety of food.

Franciscan Village seemed very nice. The staff was certainly very friendly and helpful. We did meet some of the residents, and they indicated that they were very pleased with their decision to live there. The facility was undergoing renovation, so they took us to several apartments that had been recently renovated. The apartments were very nice. The appointments in the hallways were older, but they were doing a very nice job on the renovation of those particular apartments. They were doing a lot in their common areas and food services, so we were very impressed. We liked it. I visited probably about eight different locations, took my mother to three or four of them, and this was definitely her favorite.

We have selected a place to move to. The top of our list is Franciscan Village. We are moving to what they call a garden home half a block away from the main building, so it's just a short walk. In the main building, they have a large dining room, a snack bar, workout facilities, and a library. We are able to live independent with a 2-bedroom apartment. It's what we were looking for. The staff bends over backwards to take care of you. Franciscan Village is a Catholic community. They have their own chapel, and along with that, they do have some of the nuns living right there near the people so they can associate with each other. I find that very relaxing. They're pretty filled up with activities for everybody.

My aunt moved into the Franciscan Village recently. It's a Catholic community. They have both independent-living and assisted-living facilities. They have a full service chapel. The people are friendly. The meal program is comparable to other places that I looked into.They have a full schedule of activities, everything from bingo to bowling, shopping or grocery trips to movies, card playing, darts, and pool. It's quite an extensive list and they publish a monthly calendar of events the week before the first of the month.The last time I was there, I thought the place was excellent and I haven't heard any negative feedback from my aunt. So far, they've already taken her to two doctor's appointments. Overall, my aunt feels comfortable in that kind of environment.

We liked Franciscan Village very much but we decided to wait a while. We went to see a separate house with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It was very nice. We liked best that we had a separate house for ourselves. The lady who showed us the house, the rooms and the facilities was very nice. They had a PT space for the residents, too.

As A Rehabilitation Specialist, I had the pleasure of assisting my students in a internship that lasted a few months. Upon entering you cant help but notice the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. Franciscsan Village also showed exemplary performance in the area of activities that involved the residents and kept them fully attentive throughtout all programs. Francisan Village also has plenty of activities geared toward alzheimer patients that helps them with memory recognition and everyday living. One of the most troubling situations I have known over the years with nursing homes were how soon residents were taken care of after acccidents. Franciscan Village has a response team that seem to respond immediately to all acccidental situtation. that required attention such as clean ups etc. Overall in conclusion I would have to say anyone who may be looking for a nursing home and assisted living in the Lemont ,Ill area Franciscan Village comes highly recomendded and suggested to visit first before all others. Thank You

My grandma stayed at Franciscan Village while we went on vacation for a week. When we returned she did not have any complaints other than that she missed us. As well as taking care of her for a week while we were gone Franciscan Village also hosted daytime activities that she could be dropped off at. These activities consisted of baking, making crafts, socializing with other people her age, watching movies, and other things including picnics. Apart from my grandmother going there I also know several people who work there as servers who have said that if they had to go into an assisted living home that is where they would want to go. I have also visited several times with boyscouts who go there to play bingo and sing carols around Christmas time. When playing bingo with the residents everyone always seemed happy. Every employee that I have ever met there was always courteous and friendly completing the warm atmosphere.

I could not have been more pleased with Franciscan Village. My great aunt was a resident there for 3 years. Each time we would visit, she would show us around and each staff member would say hello to her using her name. This showed me that they cared about her as a person rather than 'just a resident.' She slipped and fell in her apartment and broke her neck and was in the hospital for quite a while. The staff send her a card signed by everyone and it really brightened her days. After returning, she was self conscious of the way she looked with her neck brace and the sound she made when she ate and didn't want to leave her room. Staff members would come up to visit with her and try to get her to overcome her fears. It put our minds at ease knowing that she was being well take care of when we could not be there with her.
