Parkview Home of Freeport is a very clean and nice facility. It's an excellent place and I'd like to see my in-laws there. One girl we met was very friendly and showed us around and showed us the amenities. She was very helpful and answered all our questions. The apartment came with a meal each day. They had card games and all kinds of stuff they can do and participate in. The apartment we saw had a nice little porch with it. The place was very clean and had no smell. It's a little on the pricey side for my in-laws by it's a good facility that's well-worth it.

Parkview Home of Freeport was very good and clean. The person who showed us through was very helpful and explained everything. Everything was great in it. The tenants were very helpful.

Parkview Home was fine, but it was too small for me. They had a lot of amenities and activities, but I was not interested in any of that because I was not planning on participating in that. It was a nice place, but I am not ready for that kind of living yet.

Our mom lived in the independent living homes at Parkview. She had a beautiful home located on a peaceful tree lined street with a patio and garden space. Parkview Homes provided exceptional service and were flexible and helpful during our mom's move and her time there. Our mom didn't want to leave the home she once shared with our Dad in Lake Summerset, but she could no longer manage living there alone. When moving into Parkview, she wasn't excited. She did not want to make the change, but, with our constant encouragement and nudging (for years), she knew it was time. What she didn't expect was how much she would like living there. She enjoyed the ease of living at Parkview; appreciated the service and many amenities at an affordable price; she felt safe, secure, and taken care of, especially with the wellness check-in calls and nurse visits; and she quickly made wonderful friends in the neighborhood and with the Parkview team members by simply sitting on the front benches or at social gatherings. The residents and staff are extremely supportive and become one big family. She told us we were right to encourage her to move there. She said she only wished she would have done it many years earlier. It was music to our ears! So if you're like us, adult children trying to help a parent transition into a retirement community, or like our mom, a senior who doesn't want to make the change, we encourage you to take the leap of faith and give Parkview a try. Parkview exceeded our expectations. We loved it for our mom, and our mom loved living at Parkview!

I will add a few comments of a more prosaic nature to those of my wife. There is a thriving community of residents in the Garden Apartments, many of whom have been at Parkview for many years. We have found them to be extremely welcoming and inclusive. The buildings themselves are extremely well-built and maintained. Parkview has a long relationship with the Freeport area with an excellent reputation, is a non-profit organization, and has a solid balance sheet.

About two years ago, we started checking into various facilities in Illinois, so we could be near our adult children. We liked the concept of a continuum of care, especially since I have Parkinson's that will worsen over the years. At this point, with my husband's help, we are able to live independently in one of the duplex-type homes. We moved in about six months ago, and we decided to rent rather than buy into the community. Several financial options are available, and we're now considering switching to a different plan. We've been impressed with a number of features at Parkview; These include: lots of space in our duplex, many activities, helpful staff, a willingness to be flexible, and a general atmosphere of caring.
