I thought Sunrise of Flossmoor was a top-notch operation. When I came in, the place was very open and welcoming. The residents who were there were out and about and very active. The facility was very nice and clean. I really like their dining setup. It was set up like a restaurant, and I got the chance to witness how they actually serve their residents. It was like sitting down at a restaurant. They give you a menu and you select what you want, as opposed to it being more of a cafeteria style where there's only one thing to eat and you don't have any choices. I really like that idea of having a variety on the menu. There were a lot of residents around the facility who were moving around and very active. The space that I saw as a possible room was nice and spacious, and it had all of the amenities that I was looking for in terms of a refrigerator and a shower in the room. It was a perfect place. The staff was very, very nice. They had a lot of seniority on the staff. A lot of the staff, the CNAs and all, have been there over ten years, which is a good sign that there's stability there. They were very open and honest with me in terms of my conversations with them. It was perfect. My only problem was they wouldn't take my aunt because it's a state law that they can only be a one-person assist once they get there. If they're one-person assist to get into the facility and then they transition to a two-person assist, that's OK, but coming in the door, you have to be a one-person assist, and she is not there at this point. She's a two-person assist. That's the only thing I had a problem with. I met with the admissions person, and she was very professional and very thoughtful, she understood my needs and concerns, and she answered all of my questions. I actually went there two times to visit. I went by myself the first time, and then I took my wife back the second time.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was very cozy. When you drive in, it's a little bit back off of the road. It's very clean, and I would say very inviting. The rooms I saw were very nice and very well kept. I was shown two rooms. One was a shared suite. It was very, very nicely decorated. It was bright, and for me that counts for a lot. It was very impressive, wide open, and very nicely decorated. The staff member was a retired fireman. He was very nice, well informed, and took me step by step through the tour. It was good. He also had a dog. It was a very nice and older dog. It went with us throughout the tour. The dog was also a favorite of the patrons there to pet. I did see a menu, which I thought was interesting and varied enough. I did see the dining area. It was nice. It's a very inviting place, and the dining room lived up to that as well. It was just very nicely laid out. It was bright, and the place was very well-kept.

Sunrise of Flossmoor had a great staff. It was a beautiful environment, nice, and scenic on the outside. What I took note of was the staff was very friendly and I got to see how they were engaging with the residents. It looked very clean and really pretty on the inside. The grounds were very nice too. I got to be in the general area and a vacant apartment in the memory care and it was also very nice. There was nothing that I didn't like. It's costly, but that's not necessarily their fault. It's just their area and everything they provide was costly.

We did an in-person tour of Sunrise of Flossmoor before the virus. The rooms and dining area looked like they would be comfortable and easily-accessible for people that have physical disabilities along with mental disabilities. It's sufficient for the needs of the facility because it's not a large facility.

I have resided at Sunrise for almost 3 years and have never regretted my choice. Due to the effects of a severe stroke, my husband and I decided that my move to an assisted living facility should be considered. We did lots of searching, but our first impressions when we arrived at Sunrise sealed the deal. From the drive the beauty of the grounds and building was lovely. We were greeted by the congenial, welcoming concierge in addition to the community dog. Everything we were told/saw in the tour proved to be true. Nothing has changed. The building is well-maintained and any problems are quickly solved. The administration has an open-door policy and is responsive to any issues. The caregiving staff displays a commendable mixture of compassion, competence, and friendship with the residents. The dining staff is attuned to residents' needs and offers a wide selection of culinary choices at each meal. A variety of activities is available for those who wish to participate. Being a smaller facility allows us to form friendships with others and to "know your neighbors." There's always an opportunity to be with others or to find a quiet nook for private time. Rooms are bright and can be personalized to make them homelike. Mine is a lovely studio with a fantastic view. What more can I ask for! With my current physical limitations, Sunrise is the place for me.

The tour at Sunrise of Flossmoor wasn't as good as it could have been, because it wasn't the person in charge of tours giving it since she's not available. It's kind of a very disjointed tour because that person was somebody who normally doesn't do it. The facilities are very well-kept, it looked like an old Victorian hotel or mansion. But it could have probably been kept up better. Just some minor things like you could see where they're due for a good cleaning, or the dirt build up around the edges of walls and baseboards. So some attention needs to be paid to better cleaning.

We thought Sunrise of Flossmoor was very nice. There was nothing about it that we didn't like, just the location. The facility was clean and the staff appeared to be professional and very good. The amenities were what most offer, but it was a good facility.

I went to Sunrise of Flossmoor. The experience was nice. I loved the place. The room was nice, clean, and a good size. The staff showed me some rooms for two people that were nice. We talked in the dining area, which was nice, too.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was an older community. The public areas, like the dining area, the library, and the entertainment rooms, and the apartments were small. The people who worked there were fantastic. They had bingo, a movie night, and a margarita night and karaoke the night before we were there.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was very nice and seemed homier but only because of the way it was designed. They were very caring and very concerned. It was a small, good community that was very accommodating. The residents looked happy, clean, and cared for. It was a good visit.

We moved Mom in last Friday to Sunrise of Flossmoor. It was OK and looked fine. Mom requires high level of care. It’s well maintained and reminds me of a bed and breakfast.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was beautiful. They were not as highly trained and were much more expensive than where I have my mom. They do some memory care exercises, and they have a social every day. They have wonderful meals; the food was very good. Their staff is not well trained. They are nice as they can be, but if you are paying that much for private care, then their staff needs to be trained in memory care.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was gorgeous and would have been my first choice if it had been affordable. It was absolutely ideal for my parents, but we did not go because it’s a private pay. The staff was very friendly. The first young lady that dealt with us was standing in for the other lady who was running late. She was very good and explained a lot about what they had and the different scheduling. I liked the options that they had for meal time and the different areas that they had set up for visitors who wanted to have a private dinner or different things. Overall, it was really gorgeous and their outdoor area was very nice. The food looked very tasty, and the presentation was good.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was lovely. It had a lovely home spirit. The environment was lovely. They have bingo. The dining room was small.

Sunrise of Flossmoor was really beautiful, but they just didn’t have an opening. What I liked about it was they had -- at least -- 4 aides. They did not use CNA’s, but they used aides and call them case managers. They help the patients with their showers and dressing if they need it. They have a kitchen area where they dine, and they can participate if that is what they like to such as help cook, but they cook the meals for them. They have rooms that are set up as private rooms or what they consider studios, and one-bedrooms, and then they also have companion rooms where 2 residents will share the same room, and the room was divided by a bathroom that sits in the middle. Then they had a sink area if they wanted to, which was more like a little kitchenette area. They had a refrigerator but didn’t have a stove. I do know that they were having activities when I was there. They were reading a book to them about something, and that was the only activity that I saw for the day, but they do more activities than just that. They have some set up like a typewriter, or it might have been a secretary, and if they wanted to try to type, they can just put their things on the typewriter. They have baby dolls like if somebody might go back into the mode of when they first had their baby. They also had craft things where they can pull them up the drawer and make things.

I liked Sunrise of Flossmoor. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds were well-kept and nice. The location was nice. The dining area was cozy. It looked like it would be a good community for people who didn't need skilled nursing.

Sunrise is absolutely beautiful and fabulous. The staff is excellent. The food was delicious, especially in the memory care unit. They have a lot of activities.

I did visit Sunrise of Flossmor, and the visit was alright. The second time I didn't like it quite as much as the first time. The staff was OK, but we kind of got off on the wrong foot. I had set a firm appointment to bring my parents in, and then the sales person called me the night before and told me that she is not going to be there. I asked her if somebody else could give us a tour, and she didn’t want to do that. The next morning, somebody called me back, so we were able to tour. The person we toured with didn’t know much about the center, and that left a really bad taste in my mouth. The rooms are small. The dining room appeared to be OK. The place also had a slightly bad smell; it had a smell of urine which I didn’t pick up the first time I was there.

We visited Sunrise of Flossmoor. The young lady that gave me the tour did a wonderful job. She took her time, and she was very informative. Her supervisor wasn't there, but she did welcome me to come back and talk to her. She had been there for a number of years. She had showed me around the facility, and I thought it was well kept and well maintained. I was a looking for a place for my dad. I think the accommodations were very nice. I thought the one bedroom was small though. I didn't get too much information about the activities. I would recommend them. I would say one of their best features is the personal interaction of the staff.

We took a tour, on a Saturday afternoon. The facility is very homey and clean, the staff seemed very friendly and the residents appeared very content and well looked after. I was impressed by the fact that the residents have free will, yet still have someone to watch out for them and provide professional services as needed. What thought was really cool was that they are allowed a pet (quiet and well mannered I would imagine) there were also a couple cages with parakeets that gave it a very cheerful and warm atmosphere. There is limited availability for rooms, and the two were peeked into appeared a bit cramped. It's a bit on the high side, price wise, but then you get what you pay for. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and an option we have considered for our loved one.

I visited Sunrise of Flossmoor. I was very impressed with this place. The staff was very friendly. The one who toured me was very thorough and answered all my questions. It was a thorough tour, and it was very open. It didn't have a nursing home feel, and that's what I like about it. The residents were free to move about if they wanted to. I saw the rooms; they all looked very comfortable. They have single rooms and rooms where you share with someone, and all of them were nice and clean. It was a low-level building. It was a small community. There were only around 60 residents there. Their dining room was OK, but it was better than most of what I've seen before. Their menu items were very good. I was very impressed with this place. It is not too far away from my home. It is in a nice area, and they have beautiful landscaping, so when the weather gets nice, they can be outside.

The exterior of Sunrise at Flossmoor was gorgeous. It looked like a huge Victorian home, the grounds were lovely, it was wooded and shaded, and it had a large, outdoor porch for people to sit out in the summer and during nice weather. It was really beautiful. The interior was very, very nice. They had some nooks and alcoves for people to visit. They did have like a theater, a movie place, and different rooms for activities. If you wanted to take a walk-in spa bath, they have that. They had nurses and CNAs on the premises, and what I liked about this was they had the same caregivers for a certain number of people all the time, so that they will get familiar with the people and their needs. Then, they had a lovely dining area. What I didn't like was the layout of the rooms. They were very odd; they had a shared room capability, so there were two rooms and you share a bathroom and a kitchen area, and I didn't think this was amenable to most people. These rooms were very, very small with virtually no storage. I also did not like the director of marketing; I did not feel comfortable with her attitude. The pricing was a la carte; there was a base room price, and then you have to pay for everything you add.

The people enjoy being at Sunrise of Flossmoor. We're pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism and the cultures that were represented within the staff. They're excellent. A Caucasian woman was there and she has a very good understanding of what the needs were and things that were important. The grounds and the parking were excellent as well. There were lots of activities. There are plenty of games in the library or cafeteria area. I believe they also allow pets which is a plus for my mom. The room was very clean and well lit. They have variety of configurations such as rooms that have a washer and a dryer or a kitchenette. Spouses could share a room but they also had separate bedrooms for medical or other reasons.

My mom and dad are both in assisted living at Sunrise. The staff is very nice. They do their best to make it a home-like setting. I think it is a very comfortable place. It's a very nice place for an Alzheimer's patient. There is a nice patio, and garden that they can go to whenever they want. It's very clean, and I think the residents get good care there. I think the security is very good.

I thought the staff here showed a great deal of attention and care to the residents. I noticed that man, if not all the residents had a very favorable opinion of the staff at the facility. Many of the residents looked at the staff as friends and looked upon them fondly. Facility was kept very clean and organized. Activities were available to keep all the residents active, which i thought was crucial for elderly. The residences are beautiful and look are real comfortable. The staff was also very friendly towards visitors and did their best to answer any questions that you may have had. The staff, while helpful and caring towards the residence, did a great job with respecting their independence and dignity. The grounds of the facility were felt very safe and there was staff nearby to assist anyone if an emergency developed. This facility is particularly great for those with Alzheimer's and dementia. There is a specialized program here that includes a designated neighborhood within the community as well as engaging daily activities to foster emotional and physical well-being.
