I visited The Gables of Shelley. The manager was very kind and provided a packet. The room that I saw was being prepared for a client. It was small but they would be perfect for somebody. The facilities looked clean. They had activities and people making the dinners.

I visited this facility
I liked our visit at The Gables of Shelley. It was a small community, so it won't be overwhelming for our grandma. It seemed like a pleasant place. The staff was very helpful, congenial, and nice. We've looked at other places, and I really liked this one. When we were there, they were feeding some people. The place seemed clean, and I was glad that they had a lock on the door so not just anybody could walk in and the clients couldn't just walk out. When you look out the window, you can see far because they're not built right into town.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My husband was in Gables. It's a beautiful, and upscale. We visited four times before we signed a contract with them. Each time, I explained that our resources were limited, and we would be immediately applying for Medicaid. They told us that was not a problem, but when we went in, and were qualified, they wanted $1,600 more for the room he was in. When I tried to explain that we had an agreement, they said absolutely not. We moved him out, but the day after, they called back and said they were willing to accept Medicaid payment. They need to get their act together, and it needs to be noted that any agreements with them needs to be put in writing. The staff is very happy there, they were well-staffed, and helpful. They took good care of him. The food was very good, but my husband didn't get enough to eat.
