We've chosen Merrill Gardens at Woodstock for my mom. They have a beautiful walking path that goes around the building, and they have a nice courtyard. Their apartments were amazing. The kitchen has an island that actually lowers down to where it can be a normal table size. The staff is incredible. They encourage their residents to be ambassadors who help the new residents get acclimated to the place, and they are all amazing. When you go in, the atmosphere is just so different from so many other places. You go in and everybody is doing stuff. They have volunteers coming in and playing cards with them. Their library is amazing. They're just a step above everyone else.

We visited the Merrill Gardens at Woodstock. It was nice and we liked it. We went there for lunch and everybody that we met said that it is nice there. I did not meet anybody that lives there that was not happy there. They all liked what they had. The staff was very nice and professional. The dining area seemed nice. They were having a fourth of July barbecue and I had a couple of hamburgers, but they were cooking outside so it was not a normal situation. My wife and I both liked the place. I liked the location and that was one of the pluses for me because it was closer to my daughter. It is close to restaurants, too.

Facility is new and fancy and looks good on the surface. However, if assistance is needed, the care provided is not adequate for residents' needs. If a resident's medical condition changes during residence, the care does not adapt to needs. This is definitely not the place to be if assistance needs change. Costs can increase dramatically without notification to residents. Residents are not treated with respect. Residents are discouraged from participation in activities. Some of the staff are downright mean. Overcharging for services not rendered is a huge problem at Merrill Gardens.

My mother and I both found the staff at Merrill Gardens of Woodstock to be very supportive and helpful. The residents that live there are very friendly and open, and everybody is just ready to help. They have all kinds of things for the residents to do like cards, Bible studies, they have trivia and games, and physical activities like walking, weight lifting, and balancing. The price is reasonable compared to a few others I've looked at.

I'm really not too impressed with Merrill Gardens at Woodstock, but it's nice and my wife likes it. They offer meals three times a day, bus services to shopping twice a week, and bus services if you want to go to Church on Sundays. They do housekeeping once a week, they change your bed and towels, but they don't wash your clothes.

We moved Mom last weekend to Merrill Gardens at Woodstock. It's a beautiful place with friendly people. They have excellent food and everything looks great. When you come in the door, there's the greeting place on the left with the receptionist, and to the right is where the mailboxes are and a little further down, there's a library as well as a small movie theater. They have a workout and exercise area. Once a week, a hairdresser comes in. On the other side, there's a piano bar and also a bistro for coffee and tea. There's a very large and nice eating area. The food is excellent and delicious. My mom's room is quite large for the amount of money we're paying, and it's well-equipped with a washer and dryer, a two burner stove, microwave, sink, kitchenette area, full-size refrigerator. and a large bathroom. It's a very nice place. It's spotless and smells good. They have a nice courtyard area in the middle, and a fully concrete walking path all the way around if you want to get some exercise. They have daily activities posted on the elevator and around the dining area, usually four to five activities, most of which you don't even have to leave the building for. They have cards, people come in to do mini performances in the piano bar, all kinds of good stuff. It's a great value for the price.
