My ex-husband tried out Heritage of Sandy Plains for a couple of months. It was very nice and much smaller. The staff was excellent, extremely courteous, and very accommodating. It's two floors and walking in the front door was nice. The rooms were nice, and the bathrooms were handicap accessible. The dining area was nice and restaurant style, and the meals were good. They offered transportation to and from doctors and medication assistance. It had a homey, comfortable feel, and the environment was very serene and friendly. They strived very hard to please and provide a comfortable lifestyle.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was very pleasant, and the staff I met was friendly. The sales representative was very informative, and tried to make sure that all my questions were answered. She's been working with me to make sure that everything is set when mom does come to this area. She has not made any final decision, but we've made all the arrangements and paperwork. They have a calendar of activities. They have shopping trips, group activities and so forth. They have a beauty salon, they provide snacks, and they have transportation to doctor's visits. They're also going through renovations.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was wonderful. They were very relational with their residents, and they cared about their well being. They even had herb gardens where the residents could do gardening. They wanted the best for their residents and wanted to offer them all that they could in that way. I was able to try the food, and it had very healthy options.

I can think of only positive things to say about Heritage on Sandy Plains. What is not to like! From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome. My Mom has been at more expensive and so called "fancier" places but you never felt the love you do here. Since the executive director, Steven, came almost a year ago the aesthetics and care have improved greatly. There is independent and assisted living plus a Legacy wing for memory care. There are tons of activities arranged by a veteran social planner. If you like crafts, games such as bingo, chair exercises, in house movies or a trip into the community to eat, shop, or see points of interest you will be delighted. Friday is happy hour with entertainment, food and beverage. There is always something going on. The chef makes three meals a day and all of them are from scratch--only fresh foods, not processed; his food is amazing! He is in the dining room to serve and check on things and all help pitch in as needed to serve meals. Everyone is hands on working as a team in all they do. You feel comfortable with a nurse on staff and friendly med techs. They even have a wonderful beauty shop on site. In my opinion they bend over backward to please and treat you like family. My Mom is 94 and on the first day there people from a nearby church came in for a sing-along and gave out poinsettias . The lady who assists my Mom called her a "princess" as she was helping her get ready for bed. That tickled me. Since then the same woman has informed me of any concerns with Mom's health-swollen ankles, a sore or a bruise, etc. This communication helps so I can check it out and do what is needed to help her. I am just so happy we found this place and have encouraged others to come and they did and are equally pleased. Cheryl Coe, Marietta, Ga.

I visited Heritage of Sandy Plains. I liked the staff. When I pulled up, they had little chalkboard outside that said welcome and then my name. I saw the dining area, and they had a 5-star chef. The place was very clean, nice, and odorless. It was in suburbia, which was kind of nice.

Heritage was just too far away from us. We saw the nice dining area for both the memory care and assisted living. The memory care was set up very much like a home with a Christmas tree and decorations. It was clean and up to date, had new-looking carpeting, and was very nice and well-lit. The room that we saw looked very homey.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was lovely. Their director was awesome, very helpful, and very sweet. They had really small room, and it was a little overpriced for my parents. The rooms were so small, and they’re not even 1-bedrooms. They were studios. They were large studios, but there were not even one bedroom with a separate room to sleep, so it is just not going to fit my parents’ needs. I think if one person was moving to assisted, a studio would probably work, but what happens for two people? I wish my parents can do a 2-bedroom, but they can’t afford it. I ate there, and the food was great. They have a varied menu. They have all kinds of choices. I could have 2 different things that day, or I could have ordered off of an a la carte menu. I took one of the two choices that day, and it was good. They had tons of stuff. They had book clubs, they had people come in and talk to the women, they had church services, they had bingo, and they had different outings. It seemed like they had a full calendar of activities to do. The people there were very nice, so it was great.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was a small place with very clean but very tiny rooms. The staff was very professional. The food was great, and their activities were very good. The value and the security of the place were very good. The location was very convenient.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was older and wasn't very modern. The apartment was OK, just average. The staff was very nice. The chef gave me a tour and some cookies and information about activities and menu selections. He gave me a sheet of activities that's going on for the whole month. The dining area was fairly large. I only tasted the cookie, and it was great. The food selection based on the menu seemed to be pretty broad. I was looking for something modern, so it was not for me.

The marketing person was very nice in Heritage. The nurse came to do an evaluation, but she did not do a complete evaluation. It was also in a good location, however, the rooms were smaller.

I liked Heritage of Sandy Plains very much during my visit. For one thing, it was very close to us. They seemed to be very caring. The individual that I talked to answered all of my questions and was very interested.

Heritage was very quick to accommodate me. Everything was clean and in order, it had nice furnishings. The inside of the Heritage looked fine, but it wasn't the same as the one in New Jersey that I went to. They were doing a renovation of the building on the inside and on the outside. They seemed somewhat negotiable on their pricing. I saw that they were having a Catholic mass at the facility right around the time I was there. They just had dinner and everybody was in a social room watching TV.

Heritage is a wonderful home away from home. My Father has adapted very well there in a short amount of time because of the warm interaction of the staff. The leadership of the facility has been especially attentive to the few concerns we have had, and has made every attempt to resolve quickly any concerns. Also to have the leadership personally interact with my Father makes his day. This interaction makes him feel very special!

The staff was very friendly and always had a smile. There was never any negativity. They home was very organized and had many group activities for the residents as well as the members of their families to join in on. My Grandmother loved the home while she stayed there. We removed her from the home so that she could be closer to the family. She returned to be involved in activities. The home is a wonderful place to live and always welcomes new guests. They are reasonable cost wise and work with you. We never experienced anything bad about the place. They kept the place clean and you never smelled anything unusual. I would give this place a five star rating out of five stars if there was a scale for it. I would recommend this place to anyone that wanted to place their loved one in a great home.

My entire family really liked this facility. Everyone there was super friendly and really helpful. The facility was really nice and cozy with a fancy dining room where we could eat with our grandmother. The location was perfect too since my grandfather lived right down the road and my mother and I only lived about ten minutes away as well. They have three separate facilities for perfect locations for everyone around metro Atlanta. They also have a lot of different events for the residents and their families, as well as support groups for those families of residents who have recently passed away. They also have a monthly family night with fun themes and great food for all. Overall, I would definitely recommend this facility to those with memory loss or a family member who has memory loss because it is a great and comfy facility with a great staff who are always more than eager to help and answer any questions you may have.
