I visited this facility

We liked our tour of Magnolia Manor of Columbus skilled nursing level. The place was really clean and the people that we talked to were very knowledgeable, very kind, and took the time to explain things. They helped us understand the process and also made us understand that my husband might not be accepted because they have a way of not overloading themselves with patients that need extreme help, and they had a limit on the number of patients that they can take because they want to make sure that they are giving the patients the right care. But they were extremely helpful in helping us navigate these waters, and in telling us what they offer and could offer. We were able to go into the cafeteria. It was extremely clean, the food looked nutritious, and healthy. We talked to a couple of patients who were out in the hallway in wheelchairs, and asked them about their thoughts of the place and how they like it. One gentleman said it's OK there, and it's much better there than to be out in the street, and he said that the food was really good. The staff said that they do exercises, they have different kinds of entertainment for them to come in, and yesterday they had a Mardi Gras party for them. They also have accommodations to take them outside.

Magnolia Manor of Columbus was an older facility, but the upkeep was pretty nice. They showed me the whole facility and their whole building was locked down 24/7. They had activity centers and a beauty shop. There's just no movie theater.

My mom moved into Magnolia Manor of Columbus. I think it's working out pretty well. They meet all of her needs. The staff members are very caring and very polite. There are a lot of activities. It's a pretty good-sized place. My mom can walk inside the building, and it's very secure. It's very well maintained. The activities director has a lot of activities. They got some singing going on and exercise classes. It seems like all the other people there kind of congregate in the center of the building. The food was really good. My mom has three meals a day. They bring it to her room. They had all people separated. They eat at different times, so all people can get in there without congregating too close. We had a pretty good-sized dinner out there, too. During the holidays, they gave me some pretty good stuff.

My mother moved into Magnolia Manor of Columbus. It was very welcoming, and the nurses there seem very professional and friendly. She's in a semi-private room. She has a roommate, and everything seems to be OK. She likes it. They could clean up a little bit more. They play bingo, I was there one day, they're playing bingo with them, and she had quite a lot of fun. They do have a beauty shop and they have a laundry on site. I know they have a bank facility on-site, too.

Allowed mother to fall from bed and wheelchair multiple times, last fall resulted in death. Facility dirty, rat in room, broken water valve, left in dirty diaper all the time, always short staffed and no interaction with resident.

My wife moved into Magnolia Manor of Columbus, and it is pretty nice. She is in what they call an assisted living building. The staff there are real nice. I call and they bring her out to the patio where I can sit with her beacuse you cannot go inside. It is a nice building. In the assisted living, they can get around and walk around; versus in a nursing home, where you cannot. My wife likes it there, and she knows that is where she needs to stay. They got a person there who does activities with them, but I do not know what they do. It will be a lot better when they let you inside, but with this virus, they will not let you. That is the biggest complaint I have. I paid to put the furniture in there, but I cannot see how they got it set-up.

My wife's stay in Magnolia Manor of Columbus has been good so far. I was able to visit her one time because their policy says that I could only get in for one day. Her room looks good, she likes the staff, and she said the food is very good. They will be giving her physical therapy. They also have hairdressers so she can get her haircut and somebody to do her nails. They have in-house activities, so they don't go out, but this is a facility that has never had a COVID case. They are pretty restrictive about how you can go in which is basically nobody, but I can't fault them for that since they've never had a case of COVID.

I looked at Magnolia Manor of Columbus. The rooms were small and had one wardrobe for you to put your clothes in, and not a built-in closet. The bathrooms were a good size. The food was good, and the dining area was small but very nice.

Worst facility ever seen. Poor management, under staffed. Nurses stay at station. Residents seldom receive a bath, hair cut. Rude, not willing to resolve issues, and constantly complaining about one another.

My mother is in Magnolia Manor, I love it, and it meets all our needs. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They seemed to love their jobs. She's in an individual room, she has space for a sitting area, and she has her own bathroom. It's very convenient, the grounds are clean, and it's beautiful and appealing. I highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with Magnolia Manor. It was a very nice community and something I would be pleased with if my parents lived in it. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. The sizes of the rooms were pleasing. The food looked good and smelled delicious.

The staff was friendly while I was at Magnolia Manor; mom stayed for six weeks. Her tray was always brought to her at her bed, and she was never encouraged to go to the dining area. They did not encourage her to get up; in fact, she could stay in her bed all day if she wanted to. When we tried to eat there once, they told us that all the chairs were filled up. It was like a hospital room. The last day when I took her home, her hair was dirty.

My relative was in Magnolia Manor. It was OK, not great, but the staff was good. The rooms were moderate. They need to improve the decoration and ambiance of the place to make it bright and cheery.

We used Magnolia Manor of Columbus for respite and they were calling us a couple of days after my mother-in-law was there. They just couldn’t handle her is what they said. We were in Orlando and they were calling us to come get her and we had to make arrangements for other family members to pick her up because they were impatient with us getting her and so we weren’t happy. There was one bathroom when I went for the Valentine Party last year that was dirty but I know residents can mess it up quick but other than that, it’s a clean place. They were nice, clean rooms and the price was good.

I visited this facility

We went to Magnolia Manor for my mom. It was a little bit better, more up-to-date, and more spacious than other places I saw but still too small. However, the residents requirement was to be ambulatory. The patient has to walk at least 50 steps, and that wasn’t going to work out for my mom. The staff was excellent, though. I saw a reading room, a very nice garden, and a place to walk in the back. It looked very nice.

My visit at Magnolia Manor was great. The layout was good, and I liked that they had the assisted living, memory care, and nursing home all in one facility. What I liked most about the facility was the cost and the atmosphere. The dining area was restaurant-style.

I visited this facility

My overall experience at Magnolia Manor was very good. Unfortunately, I didn’t really get a tour because they do not offer the level of care that my mother needs. It’s not a secure facility, for one thing, which is important for Alzheimer’s patients that may wander, and they don’t assist with feeding, medicating, or that sort of thing. It was not a good fit for my mother. Other than that, the little bit of the facility that I did see looked nice and because it’s located in an older part of town, I didn’t think that it would do. It did not offer the level of care that we needed, but I liked what I saw. I wish that they would offer a unit for Alzheimer’s patients that are further along in their disease. I was impressed with what I did see.

Thank you for visiting. As you discovered, you visited the Personal Care community. I would recommend the Dementia/Alzheimer's care department that is located on our campus in the West building. Please contact us for that information. Again, thank you for your interest in Magnolia Manor of Columbus.Thank you for visiting. As you discovered, you visited the Personal Care community. My mother was admitted to Magnolia Manor in June 2014 for rehab. I could not have been more displeased with the care that she received while she was there. She was never gotten out of the bed and it was very hard to get anyone to come in her room when we needed help. When I would leave she would sometimes lie there for hours waiting for someone after she called the nurses station. Not pleased with the Physician care there either. Did not feel they cared enough to get to know my mothers situation. We eventually ended back at the hospital due to my insistence which was too late for my mom to recover. Overall not a place you want someone you love to be!!!

Mother has been in Magnolia Manor since November 2007. They have three facilities. They have assisted living, they have a rehab unit and they have an Alzheimer's unit. We live in Columbus so we knew it and it's affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It just turned out that they were the best for the value. It's all wonderful and there's a central nursing station. There were 4 or 5 wings that laid out like spokes of a wheel that I make it as 40 or 42 units in that facility. It is clean. They're just doing some refining or remodeling. They basically change the carpets in the facility when somebody moves out of it and it's fully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and then they've got an RN available on the first shifts and they have what they call CNAs.

I've known about Magnolia Manor most of my life because my mother was there back then. Right now, my brother is there and I have observed that he is now calmer. He is not sneaking around as much. The negative thing is that he does not want to do anything now and he is not being active. I am not totally happy with that, but at least he is not in a facility where he is wandering off. The staff tried to engage him in activities, but he just not willing to. The room is spacious enough and it accommodates the furniture that he had plus the hospital bed that they require him to be in. He has his own desk and he has his own laptop computer that he can play games on.

I visited this facility

Magnolia Manor had friendly staff members, but it also had a foul smell and was more so like a hospice than an assisted living facility. The nursing home provided several activities for the patients such as game and movies nights, singing fests, and church services. However, the overall condition of the facility was poor. The staff appeared to be kind and gentle, but the patients were depressed and seemed to be near death. Several of the patients smelled as if they had not been cleaned properly, and some of the patients had random outbursts of violence. The stench and drab decorations in the facility only added to the dismal appearance of the nursing home. I enjoyed talking with the patients, but I felt sorry for them because of the conditions they had to endure while in the home. My experience in the nursing home made me consider how the elderly were being treated in other nursing homes around the world. While volunteering at Magnolia Manor, I dreaded every day that I had to go in for community service. Although the faculty and some of the patients were kind, the facilities negative outweighed the positive.

My great grandfather unfortunately had to spend the last of his days at Magnolia Manor. I can say without a doubt that he could not have been treated worse. The food was of poor quality. The staff was at best unfriendly and at worse neglectful. I can understand why, they seemed constantly understaffed and overworked. On more than one occasion my great grandfather missed his scheduled medications. Worst of all was the stench. The place constantly smelled of harsh cleaning chemicals. It is a completely unacceptable environment for your loved ones. If I could go back in time I would have told my family to do their homework before choosing a place for my great grandfather to stay. They bill themselves as some great assisted living facility but they are more like a bad hospice. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for an assisted living facility in the Valley area to look elsewhere.

I had a friend that was at Magnolia Manor. She was on pain meds and sometimes did not get the meds she was supposed to have. They have CNAs giving the medicine to the residents at the desk. There is only one nurse on duty during the daytime , the supervisor, and one at night. The food is not that good at times and the cleaning of the rooms could be alot better. If I had to go to assisted living I would choose a better place, if I could afford it.

The facility that I visited was absolutely cheerful and full of joy. They took pride in their everyday jobs and provide the utmost care for their residents. Honestly, the atmosphere was delightful and it was actually my first visit to a nursing home. The Magnolia Manor was a nice place to live. It had over 200 beds for the residents, and also had an apartment style living for all that were there. It actually had about 42 residents there at the time I visited and was nice that they incorporated the ministry of faith into the living there too. Even though I wasn't Methodist, it was great to see good-hearted people taking care of great Americans. It was an experience that I could do over and over again. Good job, well done.

I was very impressed with the quality of care and supervision that my elderly aunt received while she was at Magnolia Manor. She was not quite competent and capable enough to live alone but she still needed some independance as alot of elerly so often do. The staff of Magnolia Manor always kept a watchful eye on her but did not impose on her privacy. The staff often treats the residents as though they were one big family instead of simply residents at an assisted living facility. I remember once when my aunt had to go into the hospital for an illness, one of the staff actually took the time to visit her at the hospital on her day off. You do not find consideration like this in these day and times. The facilty itself is beautifully maintained and very clean. Family is always welcome and often encouraged to visit the residents. Holidays are treated as such and made into a very special time for all who wish to participate. It is my desire that if I ever were to require assisted living for myself, Magnolia Manor is where I would wish to be placed.

My overall experience was not so well, my relative was not recieveing the care that i felt that she should have been given. The facility was under staffed and the nursing assistants seemed to be overwhelmed with workloads. In addition, during meal times i observed where the residents who were not able to feed themselves were being fed either extremely fast or cold food on account of not having enough feeding techs. I feel that when you are providing a service so precious that cares for our family members every extra step should be taken to ensure that the residents are in the best of care.

Magnolia Manor is located in Columbus, GA on Warm Springs Road. The overall appearance of the facility was mostly clean and seemingly comfortable. Walking through the facility, however, I noticed the residents seemed somewhat neglected. Upon talking to some of the residents it seemed as though they were not being bathed properly and talked to with harsh (and rather profane) language. I personally know a few employees that worked for the facility as well who confirmed my suspicions of neglect to be true. In my opinion the RN's at the facility are Super. The Certified Nursing Assistants may need more training on how to care for elderly patients with dignity and respect!

disapointed after 4 days of stay

We recently have our grandmother at the facility and since the day she came to the facility, she has fights with other residents and now sent to the Er after four days, and get this the clothes she had on since the first day she still had on the fourth day.and now false teeth in her mouth are gone four days. She was sent to the hospital from the facility for a fall after four days noone was sent to care for her while at the hospital and to make sure she came back to the facility safely. We the family came in time to catch the patient trying to leave the hospital by getting out of her bed and noone waiting for the family to arrive. This is not patient care.
