I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
In 2017 twenty-four hour home care for my significantly disabled sister was no longer viable. The transition difficulty was two-fold. My sister did not want to leave behind her service dog, her degree of independence and her home. Additionally, finding a suitable residential home that would take one with significant needs became daunting. Then we found Safe Haven. Safe Haven met all the fundamental and preferred criteria: a lovely residence with activities and family events, staff who valued the residents, attention to food preferences, a private suite to personalize and an openness to high need residents. My sister's easy transition was realized when she discovered her days were filled with laughter, love, personal respect and a general interest in and care for her son and his involvement. Friendships were made with people who will forever be family friends. She laughed with and loved friends she never imaged she would meet. Safe Haven was her last home - a place where her dignity was honored, her soul and heart were protected and she was loved. It's these intangible traits which were the most critical. Their tenderness, for and with her and her son, in the days leading up to her passing will remain forever in my heart. The owner and staff are - simply put - lovely and loving people who are invested in the lives of their residents.

I visited this facility
The rooms are very spacious at Safe Haven at Brookhaven and it contains two beds and you have enough space for your television. They have a very good staff. When I do come and visit my godmother, I have no problems going in. The staff is very courteous. I basically enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. I found out that they also took a lot of care of some of the people who weren’t able to feed themselves. I was very satisfied.

Welcome to Safe Haven at Brookhaven
Safe Haven homes are a single story with a simple, open floor plan and large hallways for easy maneuverability. There are six private suites that are available furnished or unfurnished. We’ve also added a sophisticated ambiance to our facility which includes amongst other things: elegant crown molding in each of our spacious all hardwood rooms, a coffered ceiling in the grand room, granite counter-tops, state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen, tile bathrooms and flat screen televisions.
Safe Haven’s staff looks forward to being engaged in many aspects of a resident’s life – from folding laundry, to watching a film or playing games, and even assisting with back yard barbecues. With only six residents, it’s only natural that the staff and residents will form strong relationships, just as if they were living in a traditional home setting.
We offer the convenience of proximity. Residents move comfortably around their home. Dinner is just a few steps across the living room, not up in the elevator and down a long hall. Family style meals can be prepared in their own residential kitchen and after dinner residents may relax outside on the patio or by an elegant fireplace.
