I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was in Oasis at Scholar's Landing. She was in their assisted living, and then it changed to independent care, and they really did not have any services. They didn't have a meal service, there were no activities to speak of, and it's just like an apartment buildings for older people. There wasn't any real staff at that point, and the security was lacking. She was there briefly in assisted living, and then they changed. The staff was spotty, some were good, and some didn't really care. The size of the units were pretty good, but they did not do a good job of keeping the public areas clean, the common areas, and even her apartment. She had problems with her air conditioning and plumbing.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was a resident of Oasis at Scholars Landing. It was fairly new, and they were working out the kinks. I've seen staff and directors come and go. It's new, and people couldn't seem to get it together, so they changed it to independent living. They're downtown around the stadium, so there's traffic. I have more cons than pros about it. The rooms were excellent and had a living room, refrigerator and sinks, and bedroom. I liked the room. The space was really nice for everybody. The cafeteria was OK. They only had one good chef in the couple of years my mother was there. She was awesome because she interacted with the clients, and made sure they were comfortable and got what they needed. The other chefs were just there for paychecks. The community is located in the middle of colleges like Atlanta University, Clark University, Morehouse, and Spelman. What I liked was that the students came in to interact with the residents. What I didn't like about it was that it's around that neighborhood, sp they don't have good security and I hope they're gated. There was always a big turnover of staff.

I visited this facility

My mother needed a home, not another senior facility and she needed assistance with her financial situation. Oasis was truly what their name says. They help her in so many ways and continues to do so. I would recommend them to anyone.

I visited this facility

Oasis was newly built and seemed like a bunch of matchbox apartments all stuffed on top of each other seven stories tall. The staff was good. It’s a new building, so the atmosphere was good. I just looked around and knew it wasn’t a place I wanted for my mother.

I visited this facility

I went to Oasis at Scholars Landing, and it was an absolutely wonderful place. It was brand-new. It was only two months old. It could only hold 80 people, and it was really nice. I thought it was remarkably clean. Each of the unusually large rooms had a large bedroom, living area, and shower. It was more than adequate. The staff was very friendly. I went there on a Sunday afternoon, so they were low on staff, but everybody was very friendly. They only had eight residents at that time. So, it would have been a good life for my husband there, but the cost was too high. I would rate it a 5 for the location, the newness of the facility, and the state-of-the-art everything that they had there.
