I visited Heron East. The people there were amazing. The woman I met was good. It seems very clean, and it seemed like the rooms for my parents were probably too small though. That's the one reason I probably would not go with them. But the people were amazing, and it seemed like they had a lot of activities and things like that. The staff was great. The thing that I loved about her was, she wasn't a salesperson. I told her I was in the beginning stages of searching, and she even told me of other options that I might want to go with that don't include the place. She was trying to help me, and not trying to sell just the place to me. She was giving me other ideas of what I could get for my parents; that is very sincere. They had some outdoor spaces and they also had common areas where they had activities. There was a lot of light coming in, which was nice, like the tall ceilings and light. The thing is the people that took me around and the feel was good. But I think for my parents who are coming from a two-bedroom apartment, the rooms are too small.

When I first pulled into Heron East, I thought it was very small. Then I realized as I went around the corner, I was looking at the end of it. The end of it faces the road, not the front of it. It was long and had a nice entranceway. It was pouring down rain, and they had a nice roof that came way out for you to get under, so you didn't get wet. They were having a happy hour when I went in. They had a guy in there singing the old 50's songs like Fats Domino, Blueberry Hill, and that kind of music and country music. It was very good. There were a lot of people sitting all around the room listening and having drinks. They seemed to be enjoying it. The lady running it was the one who showed me around, she was very nice. I like the place, it was nice, too. The place is laid out in a figure eight, and in the very center, they have a garden where you can go out to. You go through these French doors, outside into a garden, and they raise rabbits out there. They have all kinds of plants. The rabbits are just running around in the plants, and there are benches out there. You can sit and watch the rabbits.

The tour at Heron East was fine. We had set up the appointment but when we got there, nobody knew we were supposed to be there. But they made accommodations and they were able to show us around. Heron East is very nice. For the dining, they had a particular time they had to go and eat. They had activities and stuff, it was nice. But compared to the newer facility we toured, it's apples and oranges. For the same price, if not more, at the other place and I was not as nice of a facility of the brand new place for the price. The person who showed us around was very good. They have an outdoor space that's like a walking space along the canal. The dining area was more restaurant type, it was sit-down eating. They had a library and place for them to play games, they had a counter as well of activities.

My mom has already moved to Heron East. The place was good, they were very nice, it's a nice place and it's very clean. It was a very easy process for them. She has been participating in a lot of the activities, they do card games, they do movie afternoons, and bingo. So I know that she's been doing a lot of activities. Everybody seems very nice so we haven't had any issues at all. She seems very happy there.

Heron East was nice. The place was very nice, very clean and the passages were wide. They had black leather seats with tables, so if you have company, you can sit out there and relax. Those were very nice, I liked that. But I think it's a little bit out of my sister's reach. The staff that I talked to was very keen to go through all things and then to explain everything to us. She was a nice person, and to be honest, I would put my sister there. But I think it's not affordable for us. They have single rooms and they have rooms that you have to share. It's not as nice as the other one we toured because they don't have any personal garage or parking area, but all in all, it was ok.

I visited Heron East, and I found it was average. It was okay. It was not anything to jump up and down about. I only went for an interview. I talked to one person, and we did a little walk around. It is older, but it was clean. The rooms are small, and the apartment rooms are small. It is very centrally located.
