We visited Brookdale Paddock Hills and it was very nice. The facility was very comfortable, spacious, and clean and that's one thing we are looking for. The cost was a little higher. The staff was very good, clean, and polite. They were good people. The meal was excellent.

I visited this facility

I toured Brookdale Paddock Hills. They were very welcoming. I was impressed mainly by the fact that the residents were coming and going for lunch when I was there. So, I would see them in the hall, and some of them were just overwhelmed with how good the food was. Only one person wasn't, and I had a feeling he probably wouldn't have been happy anywhere. But the others were very happy. The hallways and the rooms were clean. The building was not so nice because it was an older and smaller building. The staff was very good. They're good with their people, and that was important to me. They had a courtyard for people to go out into. It was close to the major highways, but when you got onto the road that would take you to this facility, it became a neighborhood feel. It was a nice, quieter feeling, and it was not too far off the major highways.

Brookdale Paddock Hills was just not what we were looking for, it's more like a nursing home. Tammy was the one who gave us the tour and she was wonderful. Too crowded, and very dark. The rooms that they showed me were empty.

I liked Brookdale Paddock Hills better just because the residents that I saw looked to be very similar to my family members. I liked that it was a little bit smaller. They didn't have quite as many amenities, but it was a clean place. The staff were very professional. They tried hard to make it work for me.

I went to Brookdale Paddock Hills, and my dad liked it. It was very clean. The people were friendly. They had everything that people would need. It was very nice. The staff who gave me the tour was friendly. She took her time and explained the rooms, what they cost, what you can bring in, and what you can't bring in. The dining area was like a hotel. They have entertainment every day from what they told me and from what I saw. They had a lady playing the piano while they were eating lunch. Everybody seemed happy there. The meals are made right there in the kitchen. It was like a hotel. It was really fancy. They really had it together in there. They had events every day. They had arts and crafts. They had gardening. They had field trips, and they had people come in to entertain. I can't say anything bad about it.

Brookdale Paddock Hills was very clean and quiet. The lady that gave the tour was polite and informative. They showed me their dining hall and their schedule of activities that was posted on the wall. I asked about their exercises. They said that they bring people in that have the exercise equipment, so I wasn't crazy about that. I looked at their apartments, and they were acceptable. They have a bed, a walk-in closet, a walk-in shower, and a bathroom.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is now in Brookdale Paddock Hills, they're fine and our experience is good. They seem clean, the grounds are a little bit unkept in some places but the building seems clean. The staff is very friendly and they're very helpful. The director, in particular, has been extremely helpful and also the nursing staff, in getting her in there, and settling all the documents that she needs to have filled out. They helped with that. I haven't tried the food, but she has. The vegetables are a little bit overcooked, but other than that, she seems to think that the food is okay. I saw some people playing bingo. She's in quarantine right now, so she hasn't been able to participate too much in any of the activities. The setup of her room is fine, there were some insect infestations that I spoke to them about, and they had somebody come in and spray. The director's great, the nursing staff was great, we had interaction with a cleaning lady and she was very nice and helpful.

Brookdale Paddock Hills was the first one we went to see, and my mom did not like it because it was assisted living. It was more like you would just have your own room. So instead of individual apartments and people having individual rooms, my mom and dad would have to share a studio apartment essentially instead of a one-bedroom. The rooms were small. It was more assisted living than independent living, and my mom did not like that at all. It was worn, it had seen better days, so it needs a little freshening up. But the people were lovely. They had like game rooms and organized activities, which was nice. Informally, the residents organized activities as well. It just needs to be updated. The residents that we spoke to were very happy there.

My mother is currently in Brookdale Paddock Hills. It's a wonderful place. They're very caring. It's very clean. They're on top of all their people. They know their people by name. Their food is excellent. My husband and I have eaten there with her a couple of times in the dining room. The food is very good. Overall, I think it's a really nice place. If I was to go into one, I wouldn't mind going there. A couple of years ago, they renovated it and updated it. It's very, very nice. The rooms are very large. They all have their own rooms; nobody shares. It's excellent.

My visit to Brookdale Paddock Hills was good. I liked it. It was a smaller facility, but the other place had more to offer. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and very friendly. It seemed darker.

I have a favorable view of Brookdale Paddock Hills during my tour. I like the fact that it looked clean, the staffing is stable, and the pricing is reasonable. The rooms I was able to look at were large enough. They were friendly, too. It was a short visit, but it was worthwhile. They showed a list of activities, and then I went to their game room, the studio apartments, and the cafeteria.

We visited Brookdale Paddock Hills and we were very impressed. That was the second one that we were gonna choose. Brookdale was very nice, but it was more expensive for my mother's price, and we just liked the other place 'cause it was a little bit smaller to get her used to it. It's just more like a bigger facility, but I would say it was not the price range for us/for her, and the rooms were smaller. The staff member, she was wonderful. They said they had activities, but we didn't see any going on at that time. They just showed us the cafeteria where they eat, but it was raining that day, so most of the clients were in their rooms. There was a courtyard in there with a fenced-in area.

Brookdale is an older complex, but it was nice. My friend was interested because It was in my friend's price range. The rooms were small, and they took us to the memory care section. They had a little room with a computer in it, there was a nice library, the building is set back in the trees, and it was cool inside. There was a family placing a lady, and they were being treated very nicely. We did not eat there, but the dining room is big, and it seemed to be nicely set up. The building could use some updating.

I liked Brookdale Paddock Hills. It was a little bit older, but it had a kind of open dining and the people that work there are very nice. I thought the rooms there were small. There was a beauty salon, and they had something they call a theater which is their movie room. They have an activities room and a very nice dining area and the food is good. The staff was very good.

We're very happy with Brookdale Paddock Hills. My mother-in-law has a shared room with a nice roommate, and she likes it. She's happy there. The staff is very friendly and seem to get along well with the residents. We haven't seen any problems at all. I see the bus picking them up to take people places. They have bingo and few other things. They're doing very well with her.

Father in law stayed for 22 days at Brookdale Paddock, and it was terrible; he was in the hospital 5 of the 22 days because they didn’t keep track of what was going on and get hurt himself. I don’t think the staff was very helpful, and we were not pleased with them at all. When we moved him to the mental care section, all they had was 1 room with a TV. The residents did not look happy; nobody was friendly. It was not a very nice place. We tried to put him into the memory care, but they said he was good for assisted living, but obviously he was not.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We chose Brookdale Paddock Hills for my grandfather because it’s near downtown Ocala. So I could go to him every day if I chose. Basically, it’s the closest to his relatives, and everything is going well; it’s good. He did fall, and hurt himself; so he’s been in rehab for a while. They took the dog; which is a big situation. Then we found that the staff is afraid of the dog so we had to find the right staff to take care of him because we just noticed that they had a fear of dogs; so they put the dog out. They’re really nice, and a few are really good. Although my aunt complains because they still charge full price. I guess they have to keep paying just to keep his room. He dislocated his hip so he’s been in rehab for a month, and a half. We thought we’d get a break because he wasn’t there, but they still charge full price. We like that it’s single story. There are no stairs or elevators, and it has a beautiful dining room. The staff is very nice. These are my only two complaints: Those hidden charges; like at first they said there weren’t going to be a price for the dog, and then they upped it -- they basically doubled it. The other complaint is that they’re charging us full price when he’s in rehab. Still, we certainly like the place.

I did visit Brookdale Paddock Hills. It was a very nice facility, but it was a little bigger than what I was looking for. It didn't have quite as personal appeal to it as a smaller facility. However, it was very nice. The person who was giving me a tour of the facility and giving me information about it was pleasant and helpful. It seemed to be a very nice facility, and I didn't have any issue with it, but it was just a little bigger than what I was looking for for my dad.

The staff was attentive at Brookdale Paddock Hills. The safety concerns were also a priority for them. The food was good. The rooms were small, but they were adequate and clean. They had a nice entertainment area. They had church services, ball exercises, chair exercises, and bingo. What impressed me most about the facility was the cost.

We found Brookdale for my mother-in-law. What we liked most about it was the attentiveness of the care. The attitude of the staff was very positive. They were very accommodating. We had some feedback from some of the patients that were there, and that was positive as well. The room was semi-private and recently refurbished, and they were installing an additional wall to accommodate us. We had not tasted the food, but according to the patients, the food was very good. She would be going there on Friday, and she would be evaluated for 30 days. In the memory care section, the activities were numerous in terms of types of section they had on a daily basis. The programs seemed to be very well laid out and planned. They seemed to be accommodating in terms of specific needs for my mother-in-law. She needed some assistance in the morning; they could accommodate that. My wife and I believed that she would not stay in memory care; she would go in the general population. I thought they were really bending over backwards to accommodate us.

I visited a friend here. I thought it was nice and pleasant. There were a lot of people going down the halls. Last year at Thanksgiving, they had the inside decorated with the colors of Halloween and potted plants a,pmg others. It was very cheerful-looking. The workers in the place were very nice and more cheerful than you’d expect. She showed me a room with a little place where you could cook, a little place for your TV, and a bathroom, but it was just one room.

I visited this Community last month. I have been on the search for assisted living for my mother for several months. My brother and myself had a wonderful, informative experience. We have now visited 6 assisted livings in total. I have spoken to the same admissions persin each time. Often she called us to check on mom. I do not live in the Fl area and will say this, the facility is smaller, homelike, friendly and the people that live there all said they were happy! I could have.moved my Mother in a more spacious attractive place, but when you speak or walk into this facility it feels safe and attentive. This will be moms new home very soon.

He moved in the end of June. We think that it’s a great place. The people are nice. The place is clean. They have lots of activities. They have a calendar they put out every month. They have parties and picnics on Memorial Day and Labor Day. They’ve got bingo, live music, ice cream socials every week, and a bus that takes them to the stores. The rooms are decent sized. It’s very inexpensive compared to a lot of them -- I do know that too -- and that’s what we were looking for because he doesn’t have a lot of money. We don’t have any problems at all.

She invited mom and myself for lunch that same day and offered to show us around. The food was wonderful . Staff passing during our tour was friendly. We felt very comfortable talking with caresa. All the residents i spoke to were very happy.
