We toured Brookdale Canopy Oaks. The tour was great. The person who did the tour was great. The food was good. The courtyard is one of the amenities. It's good there.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks is a very nice-looking, clean facility. It seems like everyone there is getting the care they need. It's just out of our price range. The only one I met was the one who did the tour, but everyone seemed to be up to par. Everything seemed to be top-notch. I didn't see anything that I didn't like. Everything looked good.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been here at Brookdale Canopy Oaks for 3 months now. I like it because it's smaller, it isn't too large like the others here in town. They're all very nice people. My apartment is very nice. I have two rooms. I have a living area and a bedroom. The bathroom is a little small, but I'm sure that's normal. Their housekeeping is a little erratic. I think they have a hard time keeping help. The dining room is fine, and the food is acceptable. Sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's not so good. It's an older building, but it is well-maintained. They do have a lot of activities.

I liked Brookdale Canopy Oaks very much. Lea was wonderful. But unfortunately, in terms of the environment, it reminded me more of the nursing home setting. Everything else was wonderful, but it wasn't what we were looking for. That particular facility is closer to my house than any of the others. Cleanliness is fine, it was in very good shape. Some ladies were getting ready to play. I don't know if they're getting ready to play bingo or a game of cards, I saw some ladies in a gathering area. And they looked fine. I saw their dining room, and it looked great. I didn't have a problem with the facility itself. It was a tiny bit dark, I think that was just the inside lighting.

My sister moved into Brookdale Canopy Oaks. When I looked it up online, it sounded very good. When we went to visit, it was very clean. It offers a lot. All the residents seemed to be very happy where they were. The staff was very pleasant, caring, and helpful. It just seemed to be the right place. I had one meal there, and the food was alright. They have outings. I know my sister went to an ice cream parlor. They have movies. They do their nails for them. They play games and cards. It felt homey.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks was a great place. The room was pretty good. It's excellent. It's just that they don't have a two-bedroom. The dining area was fine and they had a lot of stuff going on. It's a nice place. No doubt about it. The staff was also very nice.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks was clean, quiet, and very homey. I spoke to Leah and the woman at the door and they were very nice and helpful. The studio and one-bedroom units were very clean, updated, and apartment-type. So, it was nothing like a hospital or a nursing home type. There's dining, transportation, little day trips, games, and plenty of activities for the residents. They have a library, a courtyard, and a woman that would do someone's hair and nails.

We like Brookdale Canopy Oaks very much. It seemed to be all on one floor. It was very friendly and clean. The tenants there were cheerful and talked with us for quite a while. The workers seemed cheerful and happy to be working there, so that made a good impression. The rooms that the staff showed us looked very nice and comfortable. She showed us the hallway and the dining area, which were nice and comfortable. The woman who gave us the tour was so friendly, nice, and very helpful.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks was very nice, very open, very bright, and clean. The staff seemed excellent. It was very nice out there in the yard. The memory care unit was very nice and big. It almost looked like a little downtown area that had cafes with boardwalks and lanterns to make it look like you were walking down the sidewalks of France. It was very, very nicely done. They had scheduled things where they would do rehab and play games, and they would have occasional outings. I was pleased with it. The one thing that impressed me a lot was their registered nurse who came to our home to do an assessment to see if my husband is qualified to be there because he has physical limitations. At that time, my husband had COVID and he was very sick, and she told me, "If I were you, I would call an ambulance and have him taken to the hospital and checked out." She helped me along the way. Even afterward, when he was in the hospital, she would check in to see how he was doing. She told me if I needed anything, I could call her, and I found that very, very nice.

I liked Brookdale Canopy Oaks very much. It's very homey. The staff was very nice and very helpful. It's a lot smaller than the other place. Somebody that doesn't like a large group of people would like it there. The dining area was very nice. The grounds were comfortable. They have activities that are available.

I toured Brookdale Canopy Oaks. What I liked least about it is the fact that it seemed kind of dark inside, not bright and cheerful. It is a very small facility, but they do have a nice garden area and a nice upfront where you could sit under the portico. The rooms are a good size. They need updating and making it a little more cheerful. It just doesn't look inviting. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She was certainly upbeat and seemed to enjoy the job. They have exercise and have happy hour. They do take you grocery shopping and do have some planned events to go out, so they have plenty of activities. It was more institutional than homey.

We went to Brookdale Canopy Oaks. We don't like it. It's a gloomy atmosphere. The room looked plain. The housekeeping lady probably didn't see us, and she sprayed us. We were sitting in the corner, and she just sprayed on us. I don't like that. The staff were not really accommodating. They didn't invite us to try their food. The place looked dirty. It's so gloomy, and it's not bright. The location is near hospital, near where the grocery is, and near the bank. It's a good location.

We chose Brookdale Canopy Oaks for my mom, but she has not moved in yet. We did a tour of the place and it was pleasant. I love their courtyard. The building surrounds a courtyard. It's very pleasant, appealing, and it is very clean. The personnel were awesome. Victoria was wonderful. She was very professional and she answered all my questions. They provide food, they have housekeeping, they monitor the residents, and they have activities.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks is excellent. My mother's room is good sized. We've got a bed in there, two chairs, a dresser, a recliner, two end tables, a nightstand, and a refrigerator. I saw all of the rooms, and they were all good. They had a library, a game room and a pool table in the assisted living part. My mother is in the memory care, so there wasn't really any activity in that area. When I went there, it felt right. Everything fell into place. If you had any problems, the director will address it immediately.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks was very nice. The staff was good. The aesthetics were much better. The rooms were nicer, larger, and brighter than the other place I visited. When I got there they were baking cookies and popping popcorn, so it's definitely more homey. The dining room was especially pretty because it had a lot of windows. It was just much more expensive, so there's a tradeoff. I visited both the assisted living and the memory care. They have activities and outdoor terraces. They seem to work to encourage people to participate. They also take you to doctors' appointments.

I selected this facility for my brother. Its smaller that most others and that is what I was looking for. He has CP and gets overwhelmed is too large. The price was important as we have to pay out of pocket.

Brookdale Canopy Oaks was phenomenal and clean. The people were wonderful. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and nice. They also have a choice of what you can eat, but I wasn't as keen with it because I had beef tips that really didn't tickle my fancy. The staff was very nice, and I can't complain. It was a beautiful community and on the assisted living side the people were talking and spending time with each other. Mom was talking to the people and playing their games. It was nice.

I placed my mom in Brookdale Canopy Oaks this past July 2017 when I realized she needed a more structured and safe home life. Because I work in the medical field caring for the elderly, I am in a lot of facilities. I am very pleased with the care and compassion my mother gets at Canopy Oaks. The facility is clean and modern and bright and cheery! There is a sense of hominess and comfort as you stroll through the facility. My mom is very happy there. She has made friends and there is a wide range of activities for her to choose from to entertain herself. Thank you...to the staff of Brookdale Canopy Oaks!

I almost chose Brookdale because my mom was there several years ago. It was a different name at that time, and they treated her well. It was not brand new, and it was a little less expensive. The amenities were very good. They had a lot of cards games and different games that the residents could play. They had a sitting room with a TV. For a fee, you could eat with your relative there. Every Sunday afternoon, they had church. They were not brand new, but they were good.

I wouldn’t recommend Brookdale Canopy Oaks. The staff was nonexistent. The room was very old, not modern, not updated. The windows were full of mud, and when I asked the woman why the windows were muddy, she said that they had pressure-washed the place and hadn’t gotten to the windows yet, which was totally unacceptable. We went into the dining area and there was one lady sitting in there in a wheelchair, like they had forgotten about her. The tour guide said she was out of breath, but the tour took us three minutes, so I don’t know why she was out of breath. Being that out of shape, she shouldn't be taking care of the elderly. It had a horrible smell to it.

Everything at Brookdale Canopy Oaks was very good. The staff was really good with my dad. I never had a problem with them, and they let me know if anything changed. Dad liked it, felt good, and adjusted well. They went to different places and had activities in the facility. They had a TV, a piano, and lots of things to keep the residents busy.

I went to Brookdale Canopy Oaks for my parents. It was very nice. It was a little bit smaller, and maybe that would be good too. They had some nice facilities. I know they had a beauty shop -- which my mom would like -- and they also had a TV room. They had different activities going on that you could go to and some outdoor places that you could go sit. It was very nice inside too. It was decorated nicely. It seemed very clean. The room was a nice room.

I visited Brookdale Canopy Oaks. I was very impressed with the staff. They were very caring and very knowledgeable about what their facility provided. They were very helpful. The apartments were very nice and very clean, and the size was good. The arrangement was really nice and easy for someone to go around. It was a very nice facility. We looked at the dining room, and it looked like a nice dining area. They had some computer type games that they played. One of the things that impressed me was that everybody that we talked to seemed to be really interested in keeping the people there active and keeping them doing things that they could. They had people baking bread and baking cookies. There was a wide variety of activities they could do. However, the thing that impressed me most was that the rooms were newer, and the whole building was newer. The hallway in the Alzheimer's unit was wide, and it had a section down in the middle that had some artificial flowers, trees, and stuff like that. It just looked like it would be a much more pleasant place to be.

They did something very well. The facility itself was not as nice as the other facility my mom is in, but it wasn’t rundown. One of the things that impressed me right away is being in a nursing home, it didn’t smell like antiseptic; it smelled clean, and the only place that I kind of felt like they fell down a little was in their daytime staff. During the week was very good when it came to weekends and nights. Oftentimes if you would try to call there, sometimes the people you would get on the phone -- and I kind of have the impression maybe English was their second language -- and when you are trying to communicate about someone who can’t communicate well, it’s really frustrating when you are calling there and you trying to get information or give the information and they are not really understanding sometimes. So that was one place I would say they fell down. They came out to the house before we had mother go over there. They came over to the house, they evaluated her, and I thought they did a real good referral job of figuring out where she was on the scale, what stage she was in, and how much help she would need. I felt they did a really good job with that, and they seemed to have a really good comprehension of Alzheimer’s and how you handle people who have Alzheimer’s. There were a lot of things about it that was good; my only complaint about it would really be that they needed to do a better job and have some people in there that were more knowledgeable. They could go a long way if they would fix their problem with people.

My visit was not impressive. The hallways were wide, but it did not look like a comfortable place; it looked more like a nursing home. The ambiance, the common areas were not very impressive. There were plainly furnished rooms that did not have another purpose but for general activities. They have one little area where people could stop to get an ice cream, and that’s about it they could do there. There wasn’t a lot of activities that they could do there. There wasn’t a lot of activities that I saw at the common area, and there was nothing going on when I was there. The rooms were very plain, smaller and did not have a kitchen. Everyone there was in their night clothes and very casual. There was no dress code.

My mother is now here. All the experience that I have had there is that the staff is very caring and very attentive to her needs. Pretty much, she is always happy when I talk to her, so I know that she is being well taken care of. They are very clean and tidy. It is like a very nice hotel. I know they do a lot of activities with them. They do entertaining things, and they do hands-on crafts. They just do a variety of things to meet all of the interests of the people there.

It seemed a very nice place. My dad talked to some people in the lobby and saw some friendly people. I think he might have had a cup of coffee with somebody interesting there, and he’s very friendly. I talked to a few people, too. They were friendly and helpful. It seemed clean. The lobby seemed laid out nicely, and then there was a space behind, like a courtyard past it. There was nothing negative that I saw. The place seemed to be in the middle of things. It’s not too far from the hospital, maybe about ten minutes away at least. It’s not that far from everything. Overall it was a positive impression.
