I would never put my loved one in Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. It was too far away for my loved one's friends to visit and it was awful. Every last bit. When you walk in, there's a hallway and people in wheelchairs are sitting there and have nothing to do. They weren't even talking to each other. That was the first one I went to. I had read really good reviews about it. I thought it would be like a home setting, but it was like these people were being warehoused. The person who toured me was one of the owners and she was strictly business. Not a warm fuzzy. It was a business transaction. That's how I felt. It was like buying a used car. The dining room was OK. They put names on each place. That I thought was kind of nice. It was relatively clean. The owner talked about a lot of land. I didn't see any of that, but it's privately owned so that's why I was looking forward to seeing it. They put a lot of money into it. The place is kept up, but it was just depressing going in there.

I like Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. They're the ones I chose for my friend. I like the atmosphere. I like the building. I like that it is small and not so institutional looking. If my son told me I had to choose one, that's the one I would choose for myself. My friend has just moved in, so I don't have a lot of interaction with the staff, but they're pleasant enough. They have big rooms with big, beautiful bathrooms. They have a nice closet and a nice little sink area. It reminds me of a hotel room. You walk in, and it's just like a hotel room. They have activities. As a matter of fact, every Friday is happy hour, and my friend wants me to go with her. We go in the cafeteria hall, which is a nice, pleasant hall with a fireplace in it, so it's going to look beautiful at Christmas. They have happy hour, and they serve real alcohol. They have a karaoke person that kind of does a little bit of live music for them for an hour and a half. Plus, my friend goes to the beauty parlor, and she gets to go outside to the deck and get fresh air and watch the birds. I like the activities, because once in a while they'll take them to WalMart. They take them out on a bus, like to the Dollar Store. One of the big wins for my friend is that they were the only ones that accepted Medicaid for help.

Barbara, Robyn and staff at Magnolia are all so loving to the residents, my Mom was there for several years the care and attention she received was wonderful, they were like our family. I am very grateful for all of you. If anyone is looking for ALF I would look no further.

I didn't like Magnolia Manor Assisted Living at all. The rooms were real tiny and it was depressing, but the staff seemed very nice. I wouldn't put my mother in there.

My mother used to live in Magnolia Manor. The residents there had a level of mental awareness that some of the other patients didn’t have. They were more active than some places, which is suitable for my mother because she is still mentally active. The food was adequate. They are reluctant to go above a certain level of care. They don't particularly cater to residents who need more than minimum attention. They are comparable to other places but pricey.

My daughter liked Magnolia Manor, but it was too far away. They showed me a room with two people. The community was very nice and very clean. The staff was very nice and friendly. There were absolutely no odors no matter where I went, which I liked. They had bingo, auctions, birthday parties, and all kinds of activities.
