I visited this facility

I went to Cypress Palms Memory Care. What they do is they give you a test, and if you score below a certain level, then you go into memory care, and if you score above that level, you could go into assisted. The community was calm, beautiful, and peaceful. When you first walk into the building, the foyer was quite spacious. We looked at a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom, and they also offer what they call a friendship suite. It's two separate bedrooms, and they have little balconies off the back with a chair and a little table, so that you can be outdoors. It's like a balcony with a fence. This friendship suite is more economical because you're sharing, and each pays their share of that accommodation. Then there's a very small common area inside the apartment and then a little alcove where they're allowed like a refrigerator and a coffeemaker, and I believe they would be allowed a microwave, but no toaster, and no toaster oven, nothing that could create a flame. Then there are two separate bathroom vanities with mirrors and sinks, and then you would share the shower and toilet area. The person who assisted me, her name was Mary, and she was the director of sales and marketing. She was very personable and very cheerful. It was like her calling to be doing what she was doing. She had been there a number of years. She was very interested and concerned with who we were looking for in the community. It was not mealtime, but it smelled delicious. They were baking pizzas in a stone oven. There were a group of residents doing a scavenger hunt and having a wonderful time. They were taking selfies with the different things that they were being expected to find. They looked very engaged. One of the ladies was on a walker, and she was kind of stepping out from the group. The person that was taking us around knew her and introduced us, and she said, 'Are you coming to live here? I just love it here.' And then she asked the person who was helping us, 'Have you heard from my sister?' The staff said, 'Your sister is coming, but she's going to be on a different floor. You'll still be able to visit with her. But you can remain independent,' And she seemed very pleased with that. I was so impressed with what I saw.

We're very pleased with Cypress Palms. The facility is very well kept, maintained very beautifully, and clean. We get three meals a day. They come and clean our room once a week. We also have our laundry taken care of once a week, and my wife gets help with bathing. We have nursing care available if we need it, but we very seldom need that. We took my wife for a walk in her wheelchair and the front wheel caught in a ditch on the sidewalk and we both tripped over and fell on the street and couldn't get back up. Some workers came over and helped us, and as we got up and started walking back to our place, a nurse came out and assisted us back to our nursing station in Cypress Palms. They did x-rays here for us and everything. They stayed with us until 2:00 in the morning to make sure we were OK. They have good care for us. We felt that was excellent. They have a lot of special music groups that come in. I'm a retired minister and I recently completed a series of 11 meetings in our auditorium. We have devotionals here regularly. We have other programs, and they have groups that come in and do a lot of things. We just recently had an Alzheimer's special thing last night, and then we're having another special activity in the auditorium tonight. Things are going on all the time. The activities are excellent. It was a little bit expensive, but it's such a good place.

Don’t believe the pricing which will change as soon as possible according to your agreement. Service is poor. Staff is like a merry go round. Honesty is a premium with this facility.

I’m begging you! DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!! My mother lived there for 4 years. When we lived local they did a decent job but once we moved away, they neglected my mother! They didn’t keep me informed of her medical status and then they kicked her out with NO WARNING when they mis diagnosed her. I went from paying $7000 a month to $11,000 a month because they fleeced us. If you care about your loved one at all, do NOT send them to any of the Palms facilities!

My mother went to Cypress Palms. It's affiliated with where she was in independent. They're taking good care of her and the staff has been very friendly and very caring. The food is just not as good as she was used to at independent living. With COVID, most of the activities are very limited. It's very beautiful and well laid out. She spent two weeks in a respite room and she's now in her own room.

I was so optimistic when I decided to locate my momat Cypress Palms. Extra bills were attached to monthly bills, and when I inquired they told me they had asked my mother... she was unaware of charges but I still had to pay. When my mother had an accident and ultimately passed away at Cypress a nightmare happened in dealing with them. They are a business and not a caring home for your loved one. BEWARE...

Cypress Palms is nice, clean, well equipped and well staffed. I like everything about it. They have a pool, exercise room, and theater stage.

I visited this facility

Cypress Palms was new and modern with a memory care floor. It has more bells and whistles. The building I was in there was also an apartment for people to live with their families, depending on what your needs are. My mom has a catheter, and we’re hoping it’s just temporary, but she could go to Cypress Palms as they have the medical license to take care of that. They offer that. The lady that toured us knew people by name. I really liked the place.

Cypress Palms Assisted Living was recommended to us, and we think it’s very good. Everything is very great. The room is fine; they send someone around to do the cleaning.

I visited this facility

Cypress Palms was somewhat pricey but beautiful, very big, spread out. The first one that we went into was looking really good until we asked if they could accommodate my dad's special diet. They referred us to the other building, and that was also very nice, but they were pricey. They did have a Parkinson's support group and specific things for Parkinson's, which was really important to us. Given the price and the fact that the buildings were so spread out, I thought my parents would get lost, and they felt a little bit intimated by just navigating all the different elevators and buildings. It seemed kind of overwhelming and a lot to adjust to and take in. Most of the amenities are on the ground floor, so they would have to be taking elevators up and down from their apartments. It's glamorous and has very high-quality everything, but it feels a lot like a hotel rather than a home and is not as user-friendly. That was not desirable for my folks.

Cypress Palms was huge but it was really nice. It was very conveniently located too. The facility looked freshly painted and very clean. The area was just bright and cheery. They have lot of pictures around of everybody having a good time. Cypress also offers a lot more activities than the other facilities we visited. They have art sessions, movies, etc. They also have little game rooms for their residents. Their rooms were very nice and very spacious. I really like this facility for my mother.

Cypress Palms is an extensive ALF with a memory care unit. Staff there is patient orient and very friendly. Has the at home feeling when you walk in along with the higher cost of living feeling as well. Also on site is a Spa for residents and family.

This place is a big joke. It's obvious all they care about is the money in the bank. My mother received terrible care due to "short staffing" according to the staff. The "med tech" who is not a nurse gave my Mother the wrong medication because she was "in a hurry and running late" Luckily my mother had the sense to notice it was wrong. Think of how many others do not pay close attention to the medicines they take. I questioned her as to where the nurse was and she told me there was none tonight! I am seriously thinking of taking my mother out. I have spoke with several others who are not happy with the place. They seem to have trouble keeping their staff as I see new and unfamiliar faces all the time.

I visited this facility

Cypress Palms of Largo felt like a Hilton to me upon arrival. Once you pull into the round about entrance you are greeted by the 2 floor lobby. There is a office tucked in the side of the entrance that monitors the coming and goings of the buildings. Some weekends out of the month this place has a "yard" sale type activity that encourages residents to interact. The dinning area is stunning and the entire building is well lit. One of the largest in the area Cypress Palms has about 150 residents. Staff seemed to be working everywhere and I did not see one hallway that did not have a staff member working. This place is a true treasure.
