Mary 2019-07-27 I visited Brookdale Oakbridge. It was very nice, and it was larger than other places, but it was more expensive. It was our second choice. The staff was very nice, and very accommodating. The rooms were very nice, updated, and clean. The dining area seemed very nice, clean, and they were just setting up for a meal when we went on our tour. It was like a restaurant The staff seemed invested in the people, it seemed like a very common environment, it wasn't noisy, the people were sitting out in the common areas, they seemed quite comfortable, and it seemed like a homely place. Reviewer#JE0325a 2019-04-05 My dad's room at Brookdale Oakbridge looks good and they seem to keep it clean, so it's pretty decent, and it has a nice, big bathroom. It's nothing elaborate, but it's an efficiency room with a bed and a little kitchenette area. The staff seems nice and good. The food and dining area are nice. I just feel like they're outrageously overpriced and I don't really feel like theyre worth it for basic assisted living. They should just try to make it more affordable for people. The food could be a little bit healthier. It tastes great, but I think they should reduce the saturated fat. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

sandy341 2017-07-20 My mom has been here 8 month's, she loves it here. The staff is wonderful and very caring. My mom was sick and I was notified immediately by Corina. Sheryl the director is awesome. Corona the RN. Is way beyond awesome. Both Corona and Sheryl care deeply about all the residents. There are no roaches as one person said. I am there at all hours and the building is kept very clean. Yes there are people that sit in the common are, that is what they want to do. I have been there for the activities. My mom exercise in the mornings, plays bingo and other games that they play,she has done painting . The women can get their nails done at no charge. They do special events that include family's. They have ice cream socials every week, celebrates birthdays monthly. I even celebrated my mom's birthday there with everyone there she loved it. They are like one big fan.only and watch out for each other. I'm told if my mom misses a meal and that is by her friends. Did I mention my mom h as special needs that they take care of and I know it is done, my mom talks to me about what she does when I'm not there and if anything happens she tells me. . She does not go on the excursions outside of the building. I do see them when they leave and when they come back. I love this place and everyone that works there, they take great care of the residents as if they were their own grandparents. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

bobnlaura 2017-07-10 sadly, I sent my mom to this place thinking she would get great care. This facility is roach infested. After 2 months of complaining I finally went to the board of health and notified ACHA. Even after the BOH came there were STILL live roaches in her room everywhere. They are all so nice to you when you tour the building and as soon as you sign the lease everything changes. They nickel and dime you to death. You pay an extra $100/month for a diabetic diet and the only difference is that they get OFFERED a choice of a sugar free dessert. They are still able to take the regular dessert which makes no sense at all. I am sad to say that I sent my mom to this facility. We ended up breaking her lease, losing out on her initial move in fee ($1500) but it was wroth it. She came into this place able to walk, feed, dress and bathe herself and do her own laundry...... less than 6 months later she can barely stand or do anything for herself anymore. She was found naked in her room hiding behind a chair in a puddle of urine. If I had know what kind of "care" they offered there I would have never sent her there. BE WARNED !!!!!! Mama''s girl 2017-02-11 My mother has lived here for 14 months. First, let me say that most of the staff is caring and work hard. Unfortunately, that cannot be said for some of the supervisors. They continue to reduce the amount of staff to resident ratio. Most activities on the calendar do not happen, especially on the weekends. They are currently trying to sell to another company. We have had issues with the weekday nurse ordering the proper medications on time, and administering medications appropriately. While there are choices for meals, they aren't always what is posted for the day.. You pay for every extra item. We received notice that beginning Feb. 20th, medications will no longer be dispersed in individual apartments. Everyone will have to go to a common area on the first floor to receive meds. This is not what we agreed to when we came. While no place is perfect, this particular facility leaves much to be desired. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They were pleasant and kind. The facility was bright and freshly renovated. The dining room looked lovely and inviting as well as the staff that was in there. However, four residents were sitting idly in the common area. Since it was around 3:00 pm, there were supposed to be activities going on but the staff mentioned that they didn't currently have an activity director for the weekends. For us, I felt that while the value for your money was good, but the facility seemed to lack stimulation for it's residents. Maybe during the week there is more going on. I visited this facility

They didn't offer as many amenities as the other place, but the staff was accommodating, and the apartments were nice. It's a nice community. They're planning on finishing it late this fall or early winter. The location is great; it's near a mall. Even though they didn't have as many activities there, there are more easily accessible amenities around it. I visited this facility

The only complaint I have with them is that they want a deposit for September -- which you don't get back -- and that's the only thing which I told them I'm not doing. However, everything is nice. It is a nice place. It is only like 12 years old, so it is very nice and clean. They have a lot of trips, bingo, shows, and stuff like that. Their rooms are sufficient. I visited this facility

It was difficult to see what the final product was going to be. It seemed to me like they had a car also that took the seniors to the doctor's appointments. The people were wonderful too. It has been satisfactory, but it doesn't seem to be consistent although my mom has had a few extra problems. They seem to have a fairly good nursing staff, and they have good activities. They've just gotten a new food director, and she is very good. Overall, the food is good, and I am sure that it is going to be much nicer when they get the remodeling done. It is a little tired right now, but they are making a lot of changes to the facility itself, and I think it will settle down. They have Bingo and different entertainment that comes in frequently. They have a bus where they can take people to the store, a walking group where they can go out and walk every day, and a hair salon on staff, and they make it easy to get things from the pharmacy. It is being updated, and it should be very nice when they finish. They are also expanding the dining room and the porches. I am a friend or relative of a resident

Erika2 2013-12-13 I selected this community for my father because it had a 4 out of 5 star rating. This particular community is FILTHY and in dyer need of repair. Rooms need to be painted, walls need to be repaired, carpeting needs to be replaced. The staff is friendly and try hard, however, there is a lack of communication between departments, resulting in services that your loved one may require not being met. My father's dirty wash cloth (feces) was left on his counter along with the towel that was used to dry him. Common sense would have you put it into a dirty laundry basket and the bathroom counter disinfected. NOT AT THIS PLACE. Would NEVER recommend this community to anyone. My father was there a total of 9 days before we moved him out and into an independent community with us picking up the tab for the extra services that my father requires. The facility itself was very clean. It was very inviting and very uplifting, not depressing at all. They have nice functioning-sized rooms. They have three different floor plans that we can pick from that would suit my mother's needs. We also like this facility's location. It is so close to my sister's home and me. This is nice because she will get a lot of visitors that way and that's important to us. There is also a shopping center close by so if mother is there, I can just go and pick her up to go grocery shopping or take her out for an outing. Emeritus at Oakbridge was just so convenient for us. I visited this facility

The suite that we looked at was very convenient, very accessible with wheelchair, and the facility was also close to shopping centers. It was right across grocery stores and movie theaters. That's what I like about that. It was a little bit more expensive though. But it's a very beautiful place. I visited this facility

commercesd 2012-05-09 We went to visit Emeritus at Oakbridge assisted living facility since we were already in the region, looking at places for my friend's mother to live. The outside grounds were colorful and the interior foyer was like a nice bed and breakfast. The restaurant style dining area offers many delicious choices. The lunch looked like what you would find in an upscale diner. They also had a private dining room for friends and family to enjoy. The private housing options spacious apartments, and a variety of floor plans to choose from, were all lovely and looked like they had been personalized. The staff takes residents on weekly outings for shopping and entertainment - and they also take short day trips around the region. The exercise area has a really pretty outdoor walking path. The media center area was equipped with an extra wide screen TV and the community rooms were spacious and bright. This is a nicely appointed assisted living facility that offers residents flexibility and comfort. The staff is respectively and professional - yet caring and kind. I visited this facility

Janice Coen-1 2008-06-04 My mother lives here. Had a good reputation but now is dangerous. They have given her the wrong meds and not given her hers. Forget to submit tests, allowing infections to get worse for 2 weeks. They must constantly be watched and monitored to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to. Laundry keeps getting stolen. Moving my mother out ASAP. My loved one stayed here

I visited this facility

I visited Brookdale Oakbridge. It was very nice, and it was larger than other places, but it was more expensive. It was our second choice. The staff was very nice, and very accommodating. The rooms were very nice, updated, and clean. The dining area seemed very nice, clean, and they were just setting up for a meal when we went on our tour. My dad's room at Brookdale Oakbridge looks good and they seem to keep it clean, so it's pretty decent, and it has a nice, big bathroom. My mom has been living at Brookdale Oakbridge for two months. It's nice, and we're happy with it. The place is clean, and the food is pretty good. They take my mom to shopping and come and get her for exercise class. She loves her little apartment. The staff is great.

My mom has been here 8 month's, she loves it here. The staff is wonderful and very caring. My mom was sick and I was notified immediately by Corina. Sheryl the director is awesome. Corona the RN. Their rooms are airy, bright, and of adequate size. The dining room was also very nice. The halls are wide enough to maneuver around and the outside area was very nice. I saw some activities when we went there and I know that they had something almost every week and it was good.

We have Emeritus at Oakbridge for my dad and everything went very good. He has a bedroom off of the sitting room so it's very nice. Their staff are very good. I'm very happy with them. In general, they do a good job with regards to their food.

I selected this community for my father because it had a 4 out of 5 star rating. This particular community is FILTHY and in dyer need of repair. Rooms need to be painted, walls need to be repaired, carpeting needs to be replaced. The staff is friendly and try hard, however, there is a lack of communication between departments, resulting in services that your loved one may require not being met. My father's dirty wash cloth (feces) was left on his counter along with the towel that was used to dry him. Common sense would have you put it into a dirty laundry basket and the bathroom counter disinfected. NOT AT THIS PLACE. Would NEVER recommend this community to anyone. My father was there a total of 9 days before we moved him out and into an independent community with us picking up the tab for the extra services that my father requires.

We saw Emeritus at Oakbridge and that's the one we liked the best. This would probably the one that we will put her in, but mom is not ready yet for an assisted living. We felt that this facility would be the place my mom. She would be comfortable and happy there. The staff members that we met were very nice and the lady that talked to us was very pleasant. We saw the rooms and we felt it very suitable. I didn't have any problems with them at all.

The staff at Emeritus was friendly and nice. They had a little library, TV room and lounge area. However, the one-bedroom apartment was small and dad didn't like the food.

The staff at Emeritus at Oakbridge was extra friendly and they made me feel very welcome. They were also very accommodating in trying to work with you. The facility itself was very clean. It was very inviting and very uplifting, not depressing at all. They have nice functioning-sized rooms. They have three different floor plans that we can pick from that would suit my mother's needs. We also like this facility's location. It is so close to my sister's home and me. This is nice because she will get a lot of visitors that way and that's important to us. There is also a shopping center close by so if mother is there, I can just go and pick her up to go grocery shopping or take her out for an outing. Emeritus at Oakbridge was just so convenient for us.

Emeritus at Oakbridge is very clean, very new, and updated. You could even smell that they have replaced the carpeting. The suite that we looked at was very convenient, very accessible with wheelchair, and the facility was also close to shopping centers. It was right across grocery stores and movie theaters. That's what I like about that. It was a little bit more expensive though. But it's a very beautiful place.

We went to visit Emeritus at Oakbridge assisted living facility since we were already in the region, looking at places for my friend's mother to live. The outside grounds were colorful and the interior foyer was like a nice bed and breakfast. The restaurant style dining area offers many delicious choices. The lunch looked like what you would find in an upscale diner. They also had a private dining room for friends and family to enjoy. The private housing options spacious apartments, and a variety of floor plans to choose from, were all lovely and looked like they had been personalized. The staff takes residents on weekly outings for shopping and entertainment - and they also take short day trips around the region. The exercise area has a really pretty outdoor walking path. The media center area was equipped with an extra wide screen TV and the community rooms were spacious and bright. This is a nicely appointed assisted living facility that offers residents flexibility and comfort. The staff is respectively and professional - yet caring and kind.

My loved one stayed here

My mother lives here. Had a good reputation but now is dangerous. They have given her the wrong meds and not given her hers. Forget to submit tests, allowing infections to get worse for 2 weeks. They must constantly be watched and monitored to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to. Laundry keeps getting stolen. Moving my mother out ASAP.
