This place is filthy. For a examples: took 3 wet wipes to clean handicap bar in patient bathroom the first few were black!, chewed gum stuck on bed frame. Patient had multiple meds, one for every 4 hours another for every 6 hours. Care giver didn't want to bother coming in every 2 hours so tried giving patient the 6 hour pill every 4 hours. Also, tried administering wrong meds, ie, heart pills instead of antihistamine! Waited over 1.5 hours for water! A naked patient was walking in the hall, where was the staff! Patient had to go to nurse's station to get toilet paper. (maybe if the bathroom had a regular cleaning it would've had toilet paper) Patient came down with a staph infection while there. I could keep going , but I will stop here

Never leave someone here. They tell you what you want to hear on the tour. It’s nothing like that. The CNAS are terrible. My mother and my dying sister were both patients. Many times came in and my sister was lying in poop because they never would come in and change her. She couldn’t eat by herself so she never ate. She lost 40 lbs In 2 weeks. It’s a disgrace to treat a dying person like that. My mom who was put in because she falls if she stands up by herself is always told to get in the wheelchair by herself and they push her in the bathroom and leaves her with no help. She has waited in the bathroom sometimes as long as 50 minutes and she needs help and they tell her to do it herself. She fell in the bathroom and after turning on her light no one came and she finally made it back on her chair and waited for someone to get her and then they argued with her and said she didn’t fall. They leave her by herself and don’t help her in know way. She has one good CNA. Theresa. I can tell the days she has her because my mom is in good spirits. The overnight shift is the worse. They actually tell her she doesn’t have to go to the bathroom so go back to sleep. Terrible staff. Constantly hearing people calling for help. It’s terrible.

Had a relative in the assisted living for rehab after hip replacement. The place itself is not clean and staff. Hallways are very cluttered and the rooms have cobwebs. Takes an hour just to get a nurse to come help in your room, in an emergency situation this is very detrimental, but they still don’t care. Food isn’t great, rooms are terribly cold, staff isn’t great. It’s really not about “family” there as they want to claim. It’s more about the money. I would recommend taking your family member elsewhere. Don’t come to Orchid Cove in Lake Placid.

A family member has been in this facility for a year. Most employees, are uncaring, rude, and are constantly on their cell phones. It takes hours, no stretching observations, for resident to have bell attended. A few dedicated caregivers, but those have left since facility sold. Thinking of moving relative.

I have been in rehab about 4 weeks. Food cold. Only 2 CNA for 30 patient. Not friendly. 1 hour or 1/2 to get light answer. No communication. No concern.

Every time my brother calls, it is a complaint. I just spent $300 on new clothing for him. All marked with his name/room#/ bed#. They get washed, never to be returned to him. We are not rich & live on SS. He is told to make his own bed when he ask for it to be changed. Ask for a blanket, only to be told we don’t have any, but room mate gets one. He says they are hateful to him. This is not very nice of some of the staff. Needs to be investigated. 😥😪. These people should never be treated this way, but yet I know my brother lies a lot also. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️. Room is not very clean. Smells.
