About Thrive at Deerwood
We…don’t…focus…on giving great care. That’s what everyone else says. The problem is that when you focus on great care it causes you to look at people as objects…in need of care. We really believe that bar is way too low. We have built a community where Elders can come build worthwhile, meaningful relationships with our team and new friends. We have found that great care is always the by-product of a meaningful relationship.
What do we do? At Thrive Memory Care at Deerwood, we start with a deep-rooted belief that if there is breath in a person’s lungs, their life has tremendous value. We have built a team that aligns on that belief. We believe all people should be viewed through the lens of what they can do rather than what they cannot. And this team, they are really good at it.
You have to meet our people. Imagine a combination of the quick wit of Jerry Lewis, the people skills of Clark Gable and the patience of Ghandi, and you have the personas of our people. We are dedicated to giving meaning and purpose to this season of your Elder’s life. How? We see each person as a unique individual with a life that is rich with history and stories, rather than just an object in need of care. Our residents call us “the kings of hugs and handshakes”. All this is done with the singular goal of each person feeling known and befriended. And don’t forget that the dining experience would stir the applause of Wolfgang Puck.
Our team members are NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) trained and certified, which is a mouthful to say, but simply means that our team members are prepared and qualified to interact with your loved one as a unique human being, not a case study. Our community features three unique small house living environments, each with its own living and dining spaces and an expansive common courtyard. Located in in Southwest Jacksonville, just of I-295 and Baymeadows Drive, every detail of the community was purpose-built to maximize freedom and creativity.
Look, we know that memory loss can be difficult for families. Fortunately, finding the memory care thought leaders in Southwest Jacksonville isn’t.
What Makes Us Special
At Thrive, we’ve dedicated our lives to ensure there is purpose in every breath of each resident we’re honored to serve. We understand that Elders and their loved ones depend on us not only to live, but to live well. It’s a challenge we welcome – every day.
