I felt compelled to share my views on Regents Park, My dad has been at the facility four months and in the past few months he has had several crisis that the staff has handled impeccably from the nurses to the CNA to the administrative staff anything that I have needed they have taken time to assist me with and for that I am grateful. Recently, my dad had a seizure and I received calls from the nurse on duty that was with my dad , I also received a call from the head of nurses Julius, who gave me all the information of the hospital. My dad was being transported to, not to mention he followed up with a text message checking on my dad later that evening, he also made himself available to me at any point if I needed him. My dad is back at Regent park after spending the weekend in the hospital, they are caring for him as if he were their own family.

My father came to this facility under the guise of rehab due to a fall - of which he recovered from. This was not a heart event or a stroke; he lost his balance and fell. He's been at Regents for months and it has been a nightmare. As you will read over and over again, getting anyone on the phone to discuss care or general well being is a joke. While I do not feel he's being abused, I do not feel as though his care is remotely a priority. They are short staffed, which is understandable given the state of the world. It was very clear from the beginning that they were suggesting to him he should stay and immediately started a Medicaid application. If this facility has done anything, it has made it clear that my father should no longer be living on his own and should be moving back to our home state. So, I guess thank you Regents, for being incapable of providing appropriate care.

My brother (73 years old) fell at home and was at the hospital for 4 days. The hospital recommended he go to in house rehab. My brother was against it and wanted to go home. We did convince him to go to rehab for 10 to 14 days. At this time I will tell you my brother said the nurses was good, the food was good but the bed was not comfortable. The rest of this review is from my point of view. The rehab facility we chose was Regents Park. The first contact I had with them was a Lady called Jasmine. She was informative and told me my brother would be in quaratine for 14 days as he did not get the vacine. He is independent and lives with 2 other people. He could not have visitors due to the no covid shot. I was not advised he would have a direct phone line to his room and therefore I went through the switchboard to call for the first week. The switchboard phone rings a long time before someone picks up. It took about a week before i Found out i could call him direct to his room. I asked Jasmine several times to advise on his status. I asked the switchboard operator if i needed to bring any clothes or toiletries and she said I could bring clothes if I wanted to but they furnished everything else, I did drop off clothes but could not see my brother due to quarantine. I never got a call from them to advise. On day 13 I told jasmine my brother is leaving on day 14 and she was surprised and said she would check on his status. I told her the nurses station nor anyone had ever called me after many calls from me and others to find out his status. She checked with nurses station and they told her no one was on the list to call. So 13 days and no one thought that was odd that no one was listed??? I guess I should have pushed harder. Since my brother was on day 14 the next day I asked Jasmine for an appoint to visit my brother since everyone has to make an appointment to visit their patient. I got there on day 14 and saw my brother. He was adament he was leaving. Jasmine called on a Gentleman named Jeffery and he did a very hard sell on staying. I thought he was doing his job in presenting the facts on why my brother should stay longer. My brother said the rehab was ok but he could do the same at home and was leaving. There was way too much back and forth trying to convince my brother to stay but he said no, he was leaving. Jeffery said if he leaves it will be against AMA and he would not get a wheelchair, no home care, no equipment but if he would stay for 3 more days he could get a doctor to sign off and get home care. My brother said he was going home now. Jeffery said if he is leaving today he has to sign their yellow paper and once signed he has to leave the facility. They will push the wheelchair to the car but if he fell they could not help him and we would have to call 911. Nice of him to try one last scare tactic. My brother insisted he could walk when he got home. We took him home on day 14 and with assistance He was able to get up three steps with help of the walker we provided. This was appox 3pm on Friday. On Saturday we got a knock on the door from adult Protective Services and the report from Regents Park said my brother would end up back in the hospital by the end of the weekend. The lady from protective services did not agree and after seeing him said case droped. Jeffery was getting us back for leaving. He had my brother listen to him for 30 minutes , sign a paper saying they thought he should stay and was leaving AMA. He thinks he knows best. My brother was using the walker we provided on Saturday and he was walking on Sunday with the walker using the handrails at home and the walker. He has walked appox 10 feet and back to chair twice a day on Saturday and Sunday. Jeffery pushed to hard and the report he wrote was out of frustration in having a patient do as they want to do instead of what he wanted. For this I give a one star. My brother said he would never go there again . Also parking is very limited. You must make an appointment to see your patient. In closing make sure your patient has the covid shot or no visits for 14 days. Make sure you get their room number and direct phone line to their room, make sure you are on the list to get info and the patient has to put you on the list. Take clothes to the facility and drop off at front desk. Probably best to have someone drop you off to deliver the clothes so they can stay in car and keep looking or someone to leave so they can park or if not they can drive off , circle the block etc because parking is terrible. Also my brother needed a shave and shower when we got him home. I don't think they did much for him except feed him and 20 minutes of rehab twice a day.

I wasn't sure about this place...But i have to say that my mother received great care here. Not all, but 90% of the staff are compassionate and are willing to help above and beyond.
