I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

They don't come to room to check on patients or clean them up. If you hit the xall light no one answer. When go to see why no one answered. Everyone sitting in a corner talking with each other. You ask for help they get an attitude. They don't want to get the patient out of bed. The state really need to do something about Winkler Court. Its awful. I can't believe what I see. If my family don't be there every day to tell them what she need. She would never be changed or clean up. We have been there and no one comes to check on her. We always have to call them all day. Don't take your family there.

My uncle with Type 2 diabetes was here for 9 days. 9th day he was not "talking normal " so they called EMS. When he got to hospital, his BGL was 370, had a 100.8 temperature and was in septic shock due to an UTI (he had a catheter). He passed 2 days later. And when they called a lady left a message stating that they had "an update " about my Uncle. I was his POA and Healthcare Surrogate, no mention of him going to hospital.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I arrived in terrible pain and it took 2.5 hours and 3 phone calls from my brother to get pain medicine. I was put in a bed and for the next 2 days I was on my own, the nurse call button did not work, I had just had back surgery 3 days earlier and I had to figure out how to get in and out of bed and holding on walls and furniture make it to the bath room. On 3rd day the woman in charge of Activities came in and I asked her to find nurse so I could get my pain meds. this angel asked why I didn't push nurse button. I told her they never answer it. Well this lady discovered the buttons on the entire ward were not working. Everyday it was a battle to get my pain meds that were to be given every 4-6 hours. most days it was 8-10 hours. On Saturday the 1st PT person came and could not work with me because I was in so much pain. my meds were 2 hours late, so she found nurse and got me my meds. on Sunday the 2nd PT person came and asked where my walker was. I told him I never had one. He left and later brought a walker and left. I couldn't get out of bed fast enough and wet everything, they came and put a gown on me and put a pad on the dirty bed and put me back in the bed. the staff wore name tags backwards so you never knew who you were talking to. I got an infection at the incision that took 6 weeks to get ride of. If you love your family member do not let them be taken to Winkler Court.

This place is horrible. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone. No status of patients rehabilitation was ever given. Arrangements were made for patient to go to memory care. Winkler said patient was being sent home in spite of being informed of this. Finally reached someone on 9/2 and they said patient would be released on 9/8. Said he did not need further rehabilitation but would not give a reason why patient was being held.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Do not let your loved ones go here under any circumstances. The staff will leave them to rot in their beds and will lie to you and say they are doing well. My grandmother spent 2 weeks here and when she was being discharged we had to call the EMTs to take her back to the hospital because she was starving, severely dehydrated, couldn't walk at all, and had a stage 2 bed sore on her rear. She was there to do PT for strengthening and gait and balance - no bed sore should have been possible if they got her up and moving as she was there for. Can't wait to find out what they billed to medicare so I can see what kind of fraud they committed

When I was looking for a rehab facility for my dad (who is 95), I was very concerned with the reviews. I very skeptically chose Winkler Court for 2 reasons: 1) Their rehab had excellent ratings/comments; 2) Dad had pressure sores that needed to be tended to which the previous facility did't take care of. Winkler Court, according to Medicare, had great ratings for this issue. I have to say, that I was extremely happy with my father's stay at Winkler Court and he was very happy there. I did have a couple of minor issues that were dealt with quickly, but all in all, I was extremely pleased with his stay. The staff all seemed to care and took good care of him. The rehab was fabulous. When he arrived (after 40+ days at a hospital rehab center), he couldn't turn over in bed by himself. After about 6 weeks at Winkler Court, he stood up from his wheel chair like a 40 year old would. I hadn't seen him for over a month because of Covid-19, and I was just amazed. No place can make everyone happy, but in my experience, Winkler Court was the right choice and they did a great job with my dad.

I visited this facility

It makes me sad to think of this place because it was such an awful experience. It broke my heart to receive calls from my loved one in tears about the awful experiences that happened during the evening shift. The staff were so incredibly rude, nasty, lazy and incompetent. I had to take time off from work because I needed to protect my loved one. They let the call button ring for ever and ever. I went out to the hallway and asked them what those bell sounds were and they laughed and said it was just the call buttons. They put a catheter in during the night because they were too lazy to change the sheets. They also did not have any supplies - no paper towels, no wipes, no bed mats, had to wait a couple of days for a wheelchair, etc. I had to bring supplies from home in order to clean up my loved one. The facility is filthy and rundown. The television situation in the rooms is a joke. They installed two TVs, side by side in front of one of the beds and both remotes don't work. Picture being stuck in bed with no television to break up the monotony. Fortunately, I was able to move my loved one to a much nicer facility.

I am sorry I picked this place to do rehab in. To start their van that picked me up reeked of nicotine ;a patient should never be picked up in it. After 15 hours I told them I wanted out. Night CNA very snotty and arrogant. She did not listen to orders and disobeyed them and risked really messing up my surgery I had 3 days earlier. She was disrespectful to me as well. Food if that's what you call it was a joke. Person dispensing medicine was giving me all the medicines my doctor had stopped!!! Tried to make me stay there by holding up my release with saying a doctor had to discharge me. If I hadn't been lucid enough or know enough being a retired CNA I might not be here so really really think about what I am saying. Even after all this and they had filed the paperwork with my insurance company they turned around and sent me a registered letter and I called my insurance company and they told me it had been paid they'd be getting ahold of them, they weren't too happy about this. Again think about what I've said.

My husband was there for several weeks with dementia The staff is friendly and try their best. They need more help. The rooms are dismal tvs dont work or no controllers Lots of ,clothing missing as was electric toothbrush and other personal items ,No dresser, and beds: the mattress is so thin its almost cot like Food is barely edible at times Sometimes it is okay. People left on their own that need assisstance eating. dressing and toileting He was moved into three different rooms. The physical and speech therapy was excellent It was fine for people without dementia but I would never admit him there again Again the staff is doing their best without the correct number of people to attend the patients

My mother was at Winkler Court. They usually had daily activities like bingo, cards, and other different things. She didn’t participate too much because she was pretty much to herself, but she likes puzzles. The only thing I can say is that they need to put a resident in one place and leave them there, not move them all around the facility. My mother was moved four or five times, and sometimes when we went there, we didn’t even know where she was.

My mother is in Winkler Court for rehab right now. She has only been there for a day. So far, everything is good. The staff was very good. It's an Alzheimer's unit in a rehab center. She has a room that is hospital like, and the dining room is also hospital like. They have books and TV, and they do card games. She went to rehab a couple of times there. She was in the hospital, they gave us a couple of choices, and that's the one that had a memory care unit. She has Alzheimer's, so we figured out it will be better for her.
