My mother is in Gulf Coast Village. She can dress herself, but she needs help with showers and medication. She has a little bit of dementia, but not that bad that she needs to be in memory care or anything like that. We chose it because it was close to my sister's house and they have several levels. If she had to go into rehabilitation, it was right there in the same area. It's a very nice place. It's big, roomy, clean, and new. Her room is very nice and there's a lot of room. They have exercise. They have animals come in sometimes like dogs. I think they have cooking demonstrations, and little social things sometimes. It's very nice. I'm not sure I can find any place like that up here. The staff is very nice, very helpful, and friendly. There were a couple of CNAs that weren't as nice as the other ones though. That was the only thing we ever really had a problem with. They have a chef instead of just a cook. When we first went down there, I had a meal and I thought it was pretty good. They have a lot of options. There are two main entrees to choose from every day, and they have an optional menu that if you don't like anything on that, you can always get something.

The people at Gulf Coast Village were very helpful and very nice. The people that live there all seemed to be happy, moving around, and friendly. If you were in surgery or something like that and you had dogs, which I have, they would walk them for you and other little things that they did. As far as the care and everything, it was rated as a 5. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was an older facility, and it didn't have the scenic views that some of the newer places have. We only had d'oeuvres, and they were very good. They go from independent to assisted to memory care. They had everything. They had a little movie room, a salon, and an aerobics area. They had a little bit of everything.

My aunt started out in the assisted living area of Gulf Coast Village, and then she is now in the nursing home. I'm very happy with them. It's the cleanest institution I think I've been in. The nursing staff has been great. The medical social worker, Lisa, has been an absolute delight, and I can't say enough good things about the physical therapists. They've done an excellent job. They tested the staff and residents twice a week during COVID and I don't think they could have been any more careful. The food is excellent, too.

I like Gulf Coast Village, but they were way overpriced. They were a community that you have to buy into. It's a quarter-million dollar buy-in and then you're still paying $5000 a month rent after the buy-in, so I just tossed it out because they're a little bit out of my price range. They had the normal activities that all the others have, and they have an exercise room and a library, too. They offer one meal a day plus concierge services. The facility was nice and the girl that I talked with was knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating.

Gulf Coast Village was very nice, but I couldn't get him in because they were full. He was there for rehab and when he had to go for assisted living, they didn't have a room for him. It was very good. The food was excellent. The LPNs, CNAs, and nurses were all great. I give the staff a 4 because there's always someone that doesn't do their job. The facility was very clean and up-to-date. They had activities, although my husband wasn't of a participant very much. For the value of money, they are a little bit on the high side.

The transitional housing for rehab has a cute cafe where you can share meals and great conversations with the other patients. Your friends and family are allowed to join in on the fun. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding! The rooms are kept very clean and the wonderful staff are quick to make sure the bedding is clean and the patient is comfortable. The nursing staff is attentive and have a great bedside manner. The physical therapy department staff are very thorough and meticulous with their notes. They come up with clever ways to take your mind off of the rehabilitation routines. Lots of encouragement. I highly recommend Gulf Coast Village rehab!
