Opinion based on our experience during our days at the institution. Very profession, friendly, caring staff and administration. We were looking for and were concerned about CARE. During moms stay she was always found clean, attended and above all Care and Concern demonstrated. We had been to younger facilities and quite frankly they did not measure up. Modern is not necessarily better and this environment while an older facility was always clean. Other talked a good show but they delivered. As for food let's face it we eat what we like and institution food not always what we want or like. Bottom.line prepared well was appropriate for moms condition. We felt comfortable with her welfare while there. I hope this helps with making your most difficult situation and decision.

Covid 19 is a horrible time to be in a nursing home as you cannot visit your loved ones and if they cannot communicate on the phone with you, You will not know much about whats happening to them. But what i do know is my loved one does not have her hearing aids put in her ears so she cannot hear. She is gotten up each day and sits in a wheelchair all day and stares at the walls. I will be moving her soon to another facility that i feel would be better for her.

I question how much time some of the other friends and family spent in the facility that have given such poor ratings. I was there pretty much all day every day while my husband was getting wound care and therapy. I found the staff to be usually friendly and helpful. They called all of the inhabitants by name and knew one on one information that showed they seemed to care about the individual. Any problems we had when we first got here (we were new to rehab and didn't know what to expect) were addressed and/or explained. I had spent quite a bit of time in the hospital with him and I found the nursing care to be on par and the interactions to be more positive and of longer duration. If a facility was needed again I would have no problem suggesting Heron Pointe. No one ever wants to be away from home and the care is never as good as when Mom is the nurse, but the staff tries to make it comfortable and safe and the physical care was always on pointe.

I was in for rehab, the rooms were decent and the staff was courteous, we enjoyed some shows there. The personal training people were super, I enjoyed every minute of my personal training program. I was there twice a day and loved every minute of it. they helped me get back on my feet to where I could be released. I now go to the YMCA & ride a bike for 1/2 hour and do many of the exercises at home that they taught me. They were all super but I do miss my early cup of coffee with Tammy.

This place is UNREAL! Dirty, and smelly old building. Extremely small, dark, dingy rooms, without a chair for the patients visitors. Many times when I'd come in patients would be left in the hallways. I understand getting them out of bed, but to sit in the hall for 3 hours? I'm serious, I witnessed this myself! My problem was with the staff. The most unfriendly group of people I've ever met in any health facility! I always had to hunt his cna down. Not one single smile, or a hello. A lot of them need to rethink their profession, cause their not the kind of people that should be carrying for the elderly. It's a shame what these people get away with. They need to come in, & put a whole new staff in. My brother would sit in his dirty diaper, one time for over 2 hours. He would ask to use the bathroom & was told that he had a diaper on & to go ahead and soil in it. Often he would ask to sit in the tv/dining room, in a wheelchair, he was told no, more times than yes. He was there over 2 weeks before he was seen by a doctor! If he would ask for assistance, he often told me he had to wait, at times over an hour. This facility is definitely understaffed. If he complained, assistants would often take it out on him. By not responding to his needs, or giving him his medication later than usual. Please listen to these reviews. I didn't, and my brother was so miserable. I wouldn't even take my dog there, for those people to care for! On the 3rd day his watch went missing. Along with some reading material I brought him. Totally disgusted. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!!

This is s smaller fscikty and a bit older one as well. But Herron Pointe is well maintained and kept clean. This facility is much better than the alternatives many of the patients face without Herron Pointe. The staff regularly check on the patients and the he food is good. Alternative menus are offered. One patient asked for a late night snack at 9:00 pm and the nurse went and got a sandwich for her. I thought this was a nice thing The rooms are small but clean

Unless you hate your loved one, do not bring them here....my father is supposed to have 1.7 to 2 liters of nectar thickened water to keep hydrated.....they give him one glass maybe....and a small bathroom glass a day. Oh, but they do leave him a cup of regular water overnight with a straw in it which could kill him as he has dysphasia. He just recently had aspiration pneumonia........I have printed out a medical instruction sheet as to how they are supposed to feed him but I doubt they will read it. I bring in things that he will eat and all dietary compliant like peaches and pears, applesauce.....and even when Dad refuses what they call food, they will NOT give him any of the snacks I have brought him even though all were approved by a nurse. they just fixed the roof but had garbage cans all over the hallwys catching drips.....3 weeks ago they informed me they had no water at all........I just spent over 100.00 to buy my Dad bottles of nectar thickened water so lets see if they have the decency or the heart to let him have his water.........they are after all not supplying it, all they have to manage to do is pour it in a glass.........My Dad was served a fish sandwich....which actually half a fish sandwich.........apparently the fish wanted to get the heck out of this place too because there was no fish in between the bread............they leave his dentures in his mouth and Dad has stints and pacemaker...gum disease and heart disease are related.......the administration is rude, unknowledable and very sarcastic to family members........when you leave it is with a feeling that you have not been in a nursing home, but a badly treated physc ward............One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest comes to mind

This place is horrible. The director of nursing tries to manipulate family into not visited late at night. What is she hiding, well I finally figured it out. They are way to short staff at night. The staff that are on duty are either playing on their cell phones or on internet dating sites or watching TV. The CNA's usually don't change the residents all night until around 4 am, so these helpless residents have laid all night unchanged.

This was a great facility. My mom received the best care during her short rehabilitation stay. The nursing staff was attentive to my mothers needs and I felt very comfortable leaving my mom in their hands. I am very appreciative of Heron Pointe and pleased with the progress my mom has made. I was impressed that the administrator met with me and my mom soon after her admission. He truly seemed liked he cared about my reaching her goals and receiving excellent care. Thanks, Travis

To whom it may concern: Herion Point in Brooksville, Florida is no place for a love one to be. Do you think beanie weenie and claw-slaw is a good dinner for elderly people? The other foods they serve is either hard and/ or crunchy. The pasta is very hard and the sauce is very bitter. Oh and the person in charge of cooking says that the last taste bud to stick around for elderly people is the sweet ones. Go figure that out. (So what... you can feed the elderly anything and get away with it.) The cleaning crew there does a very poor job. The floor in my moms rooms, had the same dirt spots on the floor the whole time that she was there. She was there for a week and a half.{ I know I should of said something but I was more concered for my mom } Then the head of the cleaning crew comes by and looks to see what the cleaning crew did. One a week. But never had the cleaning crew come back and clean the floor or the bathroom. I have pictures of the bathroom and how it was not cleaned for days. This place needs to be inspected by the health department. Better yet they need to get an elderly person that is in good health to go there (20/20 ) and see what is not done for the elderly people there. One more thing is when my mom was released from there no one and i mean no one helped my dad or me get my mom to the car. No one person at this place helped us to the car. This is the worst place ever. I will say this forever an a day... do not take your loved one to herion point in brooksville florida. They are so big time not caring for the elderly.. All they want is the all mighty dollor...

This was the worst place for our father. HE ws there a couple of weeks then landed back in the ER with complete kidney failure and a bladder infection due to lack of fluids.

Heron Pointe was probably the best place so far for my husband and it had a beautiful view. He stayed there for a month. The help was excellent, they treated the patients well, and they were very happy and always smiling. There was just one issue with a dirty floor and it was cleaned promptly. Also, the food wasn't good and I had to carry in food from home. There were activities there but my husband didn't do a lot of them. They had little shows for them where musicians come and by two guys who worked there which the patients enjoyed.
