The Village at Kensington Place is big enough, but it's not humongous. The memory care unit has a fabulous setup. The rooms are clean. The food was great. I thought it was a really nice place. The people seemed very caring. The girl who was going to do the tour had something come up, and she asked if I would mind going with the head chef. The chef was wonderful. They sent me home with a fresh loaf of freshly baked cranberry bread and it was fabulous. They had an outdoor space in the back of the building. They have two other little areas where they can go outside.

The Village at Kensington Place was a very comfortable place. The staff was very friendly. The living quarters were nice. They had a lot of activities and stuff. They had bingo, card playing, exercising, cooking classes, and movie nights.

The tour experience at The Village at Kensington Place was very good. They were very informative. They took us through the entire facility and showed us several different units that were available. We got a good idea as to what services they offer. The physical appearance was good. It seemed very homey and very comfortable. The rooms we saw seemed nice. They were having some activities when we were there. They were doing some card games. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions.

My mother-in-law was at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden for 3 months and the care and attention that she got there was good. She was in their assisted living and the staff was fantastic and caring. She, of course, needed help and assistance with medication and showers and they were amazing with it. They were there and they were kind. If there were any issues, they told us about them. When she needed something, we were made aware of it. They're beyond compassionate. She ate very well there, too. She enjoyed the food and was always pleased with it. They had activities there like bingo, and arts and crafts. It was hard with COVID but they did what they could and kept them separate. They got them out to see other people and talk with other people. They sat them at the lunch table to discuss what they did, and that's just what they needed, a camaraderie. It was perfect. The facility was clean and very secure and we felt very safe for her there. They were very attentive to their place, going through COVID and everything, they're very on top of it. When there were any issues like any positive cases that broke out, we got an email notifying us and they told us when we went to visit that there are cases, they are segregated, and they were doing what they have to do. They didn't hide anything from us.

I liked The Village at Kensington Place. It was really pretty. The apartments were nice. The only reason why we didn't go with them was that it was priced higher. It was really beautiful. I have nothing negative to say about the staff, or the rooms, or any of their amenities. The staff that I met with was very friendly. They sent me a thank you card for going and looking at it, which I thought was nice. No one else did that. They seem to have a big calendar filled with activities like speakers coming in, music. They had a library and that's important, because my dad likes to read. I was pleased with the Village, it was my first choice.

We went to The Village at Kensington Place. Overall, it's a very nice place. They have everything. They have nursing staff, they administer medications, and they have someone clean the rooms once a week. In the memory care section, there are no kitchens in their apartments. Some of them have few cabinets, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Others don't even have that. So, the patient has to leave the room to get anything they want. There's a small kitchenette with snacks, coffee and other drinks they can help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots of activities that challenge memory. They have snack areas where they can just grab a snack, sit down and enjoy it. I looked at both memory care and assisted living. With assisted living, they have a small kitchen but no stoves. They don't want anyone cooking in the room. They have a microwave oven, a refrigerator, and a couple of cabinets, and that's it. The staff who toured me was very cordial, professional, listened to your concern. They're good listeners. They listen to their customer's requirements, and they'll show you what's available to help. They're all very good. The facility was spotless. There is no dust on the railings or anything. It's just beautiful and perfect. They have a nice yard in the back that is fenced in. They have long furniture and picnic tables. There's a walkway so you can take a walk around, you can take a ride in a wheelchair or use a walker. You can walk and go around the backyard.
