Friendly and helpful staff. A few years ago our neighbor was admitted to Life Care Center of Longmont for Rehab stay, she was able to return home after her therapies. The Rehab Floor has all private rooms and the long term floors have both private and semi private rooms. The facility is conveniently located off highway 66.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We have been to the Life Care Center of Longmont. My aunt and uncle have been there on and off for the last few months. It was good. They've been excellent to them when they were there, and they made very good progress. I thought that in this particular nursing skilled facility, they know who they're caring for and what they're caring for. My aunt was there first and she had Alzheimer's, and they knew exactly how to treat and what to do for an Alzheimer's patient, and she did wonderfully and advanced there, and she's now home. I just feel like they have the skill to know what they're supposed to be taking care of. In some of these places, I got the feeling that it was pretty general care, but this place where we were was very impressive. It was very clean. All the people that we needed to talk to would call us back right away and talk to us. They made numerous mentions that they always had good food, so they enjoyed that. I think the facility is a little bit old and needs a little bit of updating.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was a memory care resident for 3.5 years. The care she received was phenomenal. The staff is very caring and it was common to see staff members hugging residents or kissing their foreheads. As my mother was dying, every staff from cleaning staff to nurses came to tell her goodbye. They cared for us, her family members, just as lovingly. I would no hesitate to go to LifeCare myself or have another family member there.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was a recent resident at LifeCare. The Nursing staff was excellent! Very helpful and caring. They get high marks from me. We were not impressed with some of the Therapy Department! The Speech Therapist was pushy and annoying. She told my husband, the evening before his discharge, that he would end up needing to be in the facility again because of swallowing issues. If I had been there I would have told her that there are other places that he can go if needed. She, also, insisted on training me with the use of thickening powders. The directions are on the box which I could have easily read. Perhaps she is required to do this. But, she asked me if I have measuring spoons at home. I wish I had told her "No, we don't allow them in our house". The physical therapist, that mainly worked with him, never made encouraging comments about his progress. All comments were negative and she was unwilling to listen to him express how he sees things. A male therapist worked with him the last day and was very helpful and professional. The room was clean, the food was good, and Dietary staff did a good job. Therefore, I would give high marks in some areas and not so high in others. I hope this is helpful and the areas I mentioned will be addressed!

I visited this facility

Life Care Center of Longmont was more like an old-fashioned nursing home or a rundown hospital. Two people share a room. They were doing some sort of activity with the residents when I was there. The staff was very nice and very informative but seemed very busy. One was hurrying because she had a lot to do.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother is currently at Life Care Center of Longmont for rehab. It is one of the better facilities that will transition from Medicare into Medicaid. Right now she has a private room. Once she transitions to Medicaid, she will probably share a room. I have not eaten there, but she complains about the food. They are caring.

I visited this facility

My mom was scheduled to go into Life Care of Longmont, but she never made it. I think the staff was excellent. I just kind of showed up there without an appointment and told them what my situation was. They made time to show me around and spent quite a bit of time with me, and I thought it was a really positive place. It seemed like they were caring people and that they would spend the time needed to help my mom with the rehabilation. The facilities were bright and clean, and the dining area was really nice. I was really hopeful that my mom would do well in there. It just seemed like a really good place, and it looked pretty new. It did not look old by any means.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother had a stroke and we placed her at the Life Care Center of Longmont for rehab after her heart surgery. I would visit her everyday and I noticed the nurses and workers just standing around at their desks and ignoring the patients. So my mother had to get up and do things by herself because they refused to help her and she's old. It was like that at any given time. One time, I asked permission to take my mother out to get a burger and a coke, and they had to get a doctor who said it was okay. So, we went down and they helped me load her in the car, but when I came back, I was told that I could get arrested for kidnapping my mother. They should hire people who are willing to work for the paycheck rather than just standing around and ignoring your friends.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother has been staying at Life Care for about a year and a half now for Alzheimer's care. She is in such a state that she requires frequent assistance with most daily tasks such as eating, bathing, dressing, etc. It has been my experience that the staff at this facility, or at least the staff of the Alzheimer's wing, is very competent and caring for my grandmother and others in their care. They have always been willing to accommodate any requests my family had concerning her care and treatment. Recently, there was an issue with certain family members negatively affecting my grandmother's mental wellbeing. The issue escalated such that it became medically necessary for the home to restrict access to my grandmother for all but a few members of my family. They were very sensitive to the issue at hand and handled the situation with poise and without negatively impacting those of us that were truly looking out for my grandmother's best interests. Overall, I would say this facility is very well run and staffed.
