I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This place is horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Upper management lacks the skills, compassion, professionalism, people skills, or experience to successfully manage this place. I know the family of a person that lives there and have witnessed what they have gone through. Their parent's serious medical condition went unnoticed, diagnosed, and the place still has not taken responsibility, accountability, and keeps making excuses which includes blaming others. Plus, they treat the family with disrespect. The family doesn't want to uproot their family member because with people with Alziemers changing environments is not good for the resident. Also, this place hasn't accomodated or handled CoVid well. Seeing what my friends went through I would never take my parents here. My friends never complained until the current person became in control.

I visited this facility

Chateau Des Mons was a totally different atmosphere. It was an older place, and it felt like the residents had a lot of freedom. They had a full range of activities. The rooms were nice. It was not fancy but also not expensive. The staff seemed very caring.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom was in this facility for over 8 years. The first six years or so were great! Whenever I would visit my mom I would walk into music playing, sometimes people dancing and games being played. There was so much joy in this facility! The residents were involved in activities all day long. When the director at that time left new leadership was brought in. It has become apparent, especially over the last year, that the leadership at this facility no longer cares about the happiness of the residents. Every time I walked in I could feel the depression and the residents were just sitting and staring. After 3 or 4 discussions with the administration and getting no results I made the decision to move my mom to another facility. The caregivers at that facility are top notch but their hands are tied by the leadership who cares only about the bottom line financially. I also saw the light go out of the eyes of the caregivers. All of the joy they used to have for their jobs had disappeared. The atmosphere is also much more clinical. It used to be very homey. I used to enjoy going to the Chateau. I couldn't move fast enough to get my mom out of that facility. There was a time that I highly recommended the Chateau. I can NO LONGER recommend this facility to anyone as things stand.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I absolutely loved the Chateau. The common areas were well designed and felt like a home. The main area was decorated as if you were outside in a french courtyard and there were several areas that were like small family rooms with tvs, reading nooks and even a game console. The outside was open to the residents at anytime but had very tall walls to pretect against wandering residents. My mother who was a true recluse actually for the first time in my life spent time hanging out with the other residents. The staff was so good at their jobs that they were able to get her to spend most of her time in the common living area where they did activities such as dancing, making crafts, listening to the daily newspaper be read to them and eat communally. The staff members were so comfortable to be around and really felt more like apart of a family. I never got the feeling they were behaving this way just because I was there. In fact when we first moved my mother there I would visit a couple times a week and stay for no less than 6 hours. They allowed family members to partake in any of the activities and eat any meals while we were there. My mother and I even helped fold the laundry which helped make it much more like a home feel than any of the other homes we looked at. I am so thankful they were able to make my mothers final years what they were. I would recommend the Chateau to anyone.
