I visited this facility

We toured The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. They have views because they're right at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain and that area. For independent living, they have kitchens with stoves and ovens. It's only 15 years old, so it's very nice. They have in-apartment washers and dryers, which is awesome. However, it was the most expensive that we had seen. They have good-sized rooms, which are quite large. They have two-hour mealtime windows, which is nice, too. They have windows like 7 to 9, 11 to 1, and 5 to 7. You have some give-and-take on what times you could go and eat. They have a small pool and physical therapy right there, and that is nice. They have a beauty shop and a theater room. It is a good neighborhood. They could walk across the street to a good coffee shop, even though the coffee in the place is pretty good. They have a little lounge area where they have drinks and wine tastings, and stuff like that, so that's nice. They have an emergency response system. They have balconies and kitchens. It's expensive and the farthest away from family in town, but still nice.

We visited The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. We looked at the assisted living. It was amazing. They knew everybody's name. Things were clean, and they were happy. Everything sounded just exactly what you would want. There was nothing with it except we couldn't afford it. The upkeep was good. The layout was very logical and efficient. Everything was nice. It was spacious, clean, and bright. We were given a tour by one of the administrative staff. Every person she walked by, she knew their name. She wasn't a nursing person, she was an administration person, and she knew their name, and I was pretty impressed with that. We looked at the menu. The dining room looked clean, it had enough space, and it was bright.

My sister is a resident of The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. It's very clean, very homey, and relaxing. And the staff is wonderful. They're very welcoming to people. She has a very nice apartment, and the food is very good. We truly do not have any complaints at all about it. They have movies, bingo, and games. They really have a variety of things and they're very good about that. They send me something telling me what the activities are going to be. The staff is very, very nice. I think they certainly offer a lot; I think that you get your money's worth. We chose this place solely because it is close to my daughter. I'm not here all year long, so my daughter is around to make sure everything goes well. That was one of the deciding factors -- that it is close to her.

The Palisades at Broadmoor Park was very nice. It was set up well. The guide showed us the dining room and the halls. She showed us two different types of apartments, too. She was very informative. It seemed very homey. Of course, not very many people were there because of the COVID. We got to see an isolated part because we couldn't be around people. The staff was very kind. They would leave some messages and they got back to me. They have transportation, and they have overnight staff that will check on the residents. At the end of the tour the staff gave us some cookies that the chef there baked. Those were really good. The building was really well kept.

We saw the Palisades at Broadmoor Park. It seemed fine, it was a smaller facility, the staff was very friendly, and the rooms were smaller than we expected. It's very clean, bright, and friendly.

I would like to live at The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. Generally, they're very beautiful but they have limited Medicaid units available. It's a great place. They were caring, congenial, and generous with their time. It's a wonderful place. They were playing dominos and poker. The activity schedule was nice and well rounded for almost every interest. They had a beautiful gym, a pool, and dining rooms. The dining area was lovely. The chef showed us around, it was open seating, and the menu looked very good. The community rooms and elevators were clean and very well kept. The outside was very beautiful and inviting, and there were benches to sit on. The parking lot was adequate.

I toured Palisades at Broadmoor Park, and it was very nice. The rooms were decent, clean, and a decent size. The staff member was very pleasant. They seemed to have the things we were looking for. They had a facility where we can do exercises, a swimming pool, and they all had the amenities I was interested in. The staff was very pleasant, courteous, very nice, and very personable.

I have previously written glowing reviews, but I have seen some of our finest staff leaving due to low wages paid. The replacements do not reach the high standards set by the the staff that made Palisades great. The place is not the same. Food has declined in quality. Marvin and Keith contiue to provide great assistance as do Jennifer, Amy ,Jill and Greg. Exercise classes very good. Activities are stimulating. Residents are very friendly.

The Palisades at Broadmoor Park was very nice, but it was too expensive for me. The person who gave me the tour was very kind and accommodating. The place looks really nice and comfortable. I saw the dining area, and it looks very nice. When I was there I saw residents sitting around watching TV and a class was also going on. The apartments were nice and the size is also good for me.

I recently made the decision to move my mom into the Palisades. We toured 3 communities in the area and ultimately chose the Palisades. While friends of ours have told us how hard this would be (choosing the right place) we found the decision easy once we came to Palisades. We truly knew it from the moment we walked in the door; from the person who greeted us, the care staff who seemed to care we encountered, and the nurse and executive director we met along the way. Moving her has truly taken my daily worry for my mom away. I didn't realize how much I was worried until she moved in and I was able to see the care she is receiving, how much better she is doing, and the friends that she is making. We made the right choice and mom has found her forever home!

Provider Response

"Moving her [to The Palisades] has truly taken my daily worry for my mom away" What a wonderful thing to hear. We're so grateful that we can offer you increased peace of mind. We're thrilled to hear that you felt The Palisades was the "right place" the moment you walked in. At MBK Senior Living, it's our pursuit to be the senior living provider of choice in each market we serve. Thank you to you and your mom for choosing The Palisades. We're truly happy to hear she's making friends and feeling right at home!

I didn't like The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. There wasn't a lot of activity, and a lot of people stayed in their apartments. It's a lovely place, but I want somebody to talk to. I just wasn't as impressed, but it was beautiful. The location is south of town, and it’s not as good a location because it's away from everything and is not as convenient. It's for more sedentary people or people who aren't active since there wasn't much stimulation.

We visited The Palisades. The girl told us that we would be in the independent living if we would go there, but once we needed assistance of any kind, we would have to move to another place. The place was very nice. It was high rise. It was very expensive as well. We just weren't interested in that place. It seemed to be too commercial. The food was all right, but not as good as the other one we visited. However, it was probably the nicest place as far as the updating and things like that were concerned. It was very pretty. It just did not appeal to us.

I visited The Palisades. The food was really stupendous. I was very fond of it. It was probably gourmet-level food. It was the cheapest place I could find. It was nice clean place where you would want to live. The room was small but had a lovely kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer, and a small bedroom that could still accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. The hallways were wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Their tried to have stimulating activities, like exercise classes, outings, and speakers. There was variety of things that one can do. It was a very nice neighborhood and had a very nice of nearby Cheyenne Mountain was very near. I was very pleasantly surprised with the price they gave me.

Provider Response

We’re so pleased to hear that you found The Palisades amenities and services inviting, accommodating and an excellent value! My family has looked at many locations in the springs to find placement for my grandmother. Some are nice and we liked the location but when it came down to it, location wasn't part of our decision. It was the genuine feeling of care and compassion we saw at The Palisades. Our tour was very thorough and respectful of what our family needed and Jenn Nimmo was so concerned about my grandmothers safety she even messaged someone to set up home health immediately while we are considering our options. We did have lunch and were served a very good meal, I must admit I thought it could have been too good to be true. Now that Nana is settled, I know we made the right choice. Tara the director has followed up with us several times to make sure the move went smoothly. I highly recommend The Palisades to anyone considering assisted living! It is beautiful and so worth the extra drive to know how well my Nana is being cared for.

The Palisades at Broadmoor Park was very nice and clean, but they did not have the things that would fit Mom's needs. The staff who gave me the tour showed me two rooms, and one of the rooms was very small. I met one member of the staff, and she was friendly. The dining room I saw seemed small, but they have a dining room on each floor.

My mother is at The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. We like it because it’s not too big, and the location is close to the family. They are a few activities each day, but she doesn’t go to most of them. They can improve on their communication because I don’t always get what I ask for and things don't always get done. Otherwise, everything is pretty good. She has a beautiful view of the mountains.

The Palisades is a very nice place. I would say the Director and the Health Service Director, who is kind of the Head Nurse, are both extremely competent. The food and dining setup are very nice. They are right on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, so it is a very lovely setting in the first place. The rooms looked out upon the mountains or the city side, which isn't quite as attractive, but it is a nice part of town. So no matter where you look, it is not bad. Just looking towards the mountain, I'm sure it is extremely beautiful. They have a number of different types of room choices depending upon the size of rooms you want and whether you would like a little sink or microwave. They do all the cooking for you, do all your washing, and everything else. If you got your mind well enough that you still kind of want the feeling of having an apartment, you have all these different choices. For improvement, they need training for their hands on staff. That is the primary thing I have an issue with.

The Palisades was very quick to respond. They called me immediately once I registered and asked me what they could do to help figure out what would be the best placement for mother. They were very flexible in trying to accommodate my schedule. They had a schedule of the weekly activities on the wall, and they were interacting with the residents. Their little van has just gotten back from taking the group on an outing.

I don't know how many of you who read this believe in "Divine Intervention", but I definitely do and it has been with me my entire life. What I mean by this is that I was led here for brunch on a Sunday and signed up later that same afternoon. I hadn't really thought seriously about moving to an independent living facility, but was in a large house alone, having lost my wife two years earlier, and was beginning to have mobility problems. After signing up, I immediately put my house on the market and sold it in three days! That was on Monday and I moved here on Wednesday. Now wouldn't you think someone up there was looking out for me? My first afternoon here found me joining a group playing poker. I am a "bridge nut" and I immediately hunted out the bridge players and organized two groups to play in the evenings. My vocation was an Elementary Principal and I was in charge and I am still geared that way, even though I have been retired since 1991. I get involved in all the social activities and that is great. Moving here was exactly what I needed to do. The staff here couldn't be more pleasant and cooperative. They listen to us and do everything they can to make things just right. Everyone is willing to spend time with you and work out any problem you are facing. We have special programs here periodically and they are very enjoyable and informative. My whole career was centered around proper communication, so I make sure that everyone knows about the special activities. Again, all I can say is that I know where I intend to spend the rest of my life and that is right here at the Palisades at Broadmoor Park. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my feelings.

The Palisades is a lovely place to live. Residents and staff are all friendly, the food is good every day, the apartments are finished in excellent taste. My rooms have crown molding, granite countertops and very good appliances. Washers and dryers in each apartment! I don't feel isolated though I live alone, help is always near if I need it.

My mother is a resident of the Palisades...I am her daughter and live in Connecticut. I could have brought my mother to Connecticut to live near me, but a resident of Colorado, she felt more comfortable living here. So I visit as often as I can. I am always amazed by the reception staff who helps me schedule transportation to dr. visit for mom, the hairdressers, the activities staff creating fun things for the residents to do with their day, to the nursing staff who promptly return my calls and/or come in to work on their day off just to meet with me when I come to town! Anyone who works in assisted living does so because it is a "calling" like the young man who works the dining room and is always telling the residents a daily joke to get them laughing. I trust that my mother is in great hands when I leave, and she feels safe and secure....that is just what I want for her! Thank you Palisades!

I have worked with the staff and owner at The Palisades for several years as an advisor who helps secure veteran's benefits. I have always found them to put their residents' needs first and have worked to provide the best in care services. A partnership with the University of Colorado brought innovative physical therapy approaches that significantly improved the well-being of the residents. They frequently host community meetings to share the latest information about issues of the aging population and what families will need to consider in the future. I believe the recent change to MBK Senior Living is a positive move forward as it builds on the ideas of the previous owner and adds a broader understanding of how to best serve our community. I think they are well on their way to being one of the best senior communities in Colorado Springs.

I am quite dissatisfied with the Palasides. They are very understaffed and the turn over is constant. I feel badly for the care givers that are overworked. The food is very low quality, the communication from staff non existent and the medical help very bad. I will say the apartments are quite spacious and also has upgrades but that is the only positive.

My Mom has been at the Palisades for the past 3 years. The first year was her best, then it was bought out by a large corporation, MBK. Since then there's been a whole lot of turn-over in the management level and the care staff has been like a revolving door. Care Staff training, the number and variety of activities and food are all below par. Rooms and bathrooms are nice, common areas are nice (not enough of them) and the staff are nice, but young. They seem to charge the highest in this market and are definitely not worth it. I recommend looking elsewhere.

I have a whole lot of caregivers that do care. A few that you like to kick in the butt. For the most part, the staff is very good and consistent. There's not a big turn over. The dining room is just fine. The food is so-so, but it's what they serve in the entire complex. It just comes and goes. Since I came from independent living and I've been very busy, I haven't participated in activities very much. But I think they're pretty routine, like bingo.

We did get to visit The Palisades at Broadmoor Park for my mom. Right now, she is staying in her place but if we do go, she will be going there. We also have some old friends, some neighbors that moved in there recently. It is very close to where my mom's neighborhood is. The facility is a little bit smaller but not as overwhelming as some other big places. For us, they have a good location. The staff was very friendly. They were very nice. Their marketing manager was very nice. We had brunch while we're there and it was very nice. They had good food.

The employees are very enthusiastic and helpful however there is not much to do. The activities are bland and my grandma is bored there. Maybe it is because she is bitter but she complains about the food as well. The amenities are subpar and there is not much to the facilitie.s There is a room with a piano and a place to sit and do puzzles and knit but other than that there is not much else.

This is a very nice facility with a great staff and well-appointed living spaces. The Palisades At Broadmoor Park has a great wellness program that is designed to keep the residents healthy and active so that they can preserve their independence. Besides physical fitness, they have a cognitive wellness program that helps residents stay sharp and have fun at the same time. The private apartments can be customized to suit any style and they are roomy and comfortable. There are several different styles of apartments available, some of which are over 500 square feet. One of the things that I loved most about The Palisades At Broadmoor Park is that they allow pets, which makes the residences friendly and homey. I joined the residents for dinner and was impressed with the quality of the food as well as the cheerful atmosphere. The building and grounds at The Palisades At Broadmoor Park are elegant and welcoming and are quite well kept. I would definitely recommend this facility.
